Santa Susanna is quite small and quiet, ideal for families, couples and older people who just want to sit back and relax.

It is spotlessly clean and tidy, its very modern and feels very safe, especially walking around at night.

Entertainment is a bit on the thin side though.....apart from the hotels there isn't a lot going on at night and during the day we tended to get the bus or train to other parts of the Costa Brava. There was boat trips available and water sports if your feeling energetic!

As mentioned earlier the beach is made of quite course sand but is very clean indeed, in mid September it was really quiet.

We would definitely visit Santa Susanna again.

Santa Sussana resort linked to Malgarat we found the beach lovely, quite crowded but reasonably clean. A little disappointed with the lack of choice in restaurants. But overall we enjoyed it.

Santa Sussana, very clean, nice walkways for evening strolls leading to the busier resort of Malgrat or Malgrot according to how you view cheap tacky gifts.

Malgrat has the bars and the entertainment for the evening as opposed to the more peaceful cleaner Santa Su. The resort is an ideal location for exploring from and is particularly popular with power walkers going south toward Barcelona, dont know how far they get though as I suspect all the gear is for show.

30 mins walk to Pineda and another 30 mins to Calella or go on the train from outside the hotel.

Ideal location for those less abled as we did not come accross any areas that would have inhibited walking or pushing a wheelchair apart from getting access to the beach.

There is access but you have find the underpass without the steps.

The resort for me was constantly being cleaned by lorries with brushes and persons on brushes and hoses and the amount of rubbish people generate they did well.

The front was very long and varied, things to do spoilt for options from a quiet bar near the beach to a raving club till the early hours but rest assured after Midnight the noise levels go right down so reassuring that was and well observed, finally we will return and thank you all concerned.

Very quiet, clean resort, the trains are a godsend and I visited Barcelona,Tossa,Blanes and Pineda all by train.

Beach one of the best I have been on but non swimmers be careful as beach drops away and water is very deep a few feet from waters edge.

We had a storm on saturday night 20th aug and the resort was flooded, temp was down to 14c which is unheard of in August.

Resort is quite, clean and safe for families with younger children. Those with older children and/or enjoy a lively resort would need to visit Malgrat as there is not a great deal going on in the evenings apart from the stalls along the prom. If you miss home cooking then there are 2 English pubs other guests recommended, The Ship and The Station. Both are located by heading left into the main resort.

The beach is on the opposite side of the railway line and is accessed via an underpass. Sand is very course and dips away sharply into the sea. We decided that it was not suitable for our children and other guests commentted on the strong current. That said, some families seemed happy to use it without any problems.

The resort is quiet but we knew this when we booked. There are only 3 British bars & a couple Dutch & Spanish. A bit more life can be had 5 mins away in Malgrat ( bus 1.15 Euro ).
The beach is not very large & could benefit from a daily sifting to remove fag ends etc.

Typical Spanish resort, scattering of tacky shops, and plenty of bars, catering for Spanish, French, Dutch and English mainly. Lots of public transport available to get around. Beach good, just a pain having to get under the main railway line...
