Tossa de Mar is a lovely area with cobbled streets leading up to the castle and many restaurants with a good selection af meals. We stayed at Lloret 2 years ago but much prefered Tossa as its not as busy and full of night clubs as Lloret. There are plenty of small bars and places to eat. The area was clean and people friendly.

Tossa De Mar is unspoilt as a resort and very Spanish. Shops open 10am -1.30pm and 4pm to 8pm with a couple of supermarkets open outside these hours. The shops range from leather goods to gifts and also many designer shops. There is a FCB football gift shop in Tossa, however the prices are higher than at the shop at the stadium.Nice walk around the walled castle area and able to catch boats from beach for various trips. Bus station in Tossa will get you to most other areas. There is a dotto train to take you around Tossa but all easy to walk to, think the train was 4euros each so not cheap if using each day.Streets are clean and it is a quiet resort, felt very safe walking around. Plenty of well known Banks for using credit/debit cards without any problem, plenty of cashpoint macchines in Tossa. There is a local market on a Thursday selling clothes, ceramics, gifts, fruit etc. Many restaurants which do Tapas and the speciality fish dishes. Many tea rooms serving English Tea and cakes. Look out for their do-nuts and meringues! From Tossa we went on an excursion to Bacelona, and also visited the Olympic Stadium, and the Nou Camp Football Stadium-football mad, you will love it and we also had 3 hours sightseeing/shopping in Barcelona. Tossa is unspoilt and if you are after a quiet, relaxing holiday then it is for you.

This is a lovely smallish resort with plenty of restaurants. The beach is clean and the shops are fine. Journey time from Gerona in a taxi was 30 mins. Would go back.

wasn't too keen on the pebble beach but the Fondo Crystal dropped you off onto a lovely secluded cove but it got quite busy, beautiful scenery though and historical too even the kids enjoyed the view of the great castle even though we didn't visit it.
