If you are ever going to stay at this hotel make sure you are fit and very healthy and don't have any breathing problems were you need to use inhalers, the road from the front up to the hotel should be named as Coronary Hill as this hill could lead and cause a person to have a heart attack, the side of the hotel where we where it was always in the shade, and another thing is advisable to bring earplugs because you find when people come in late they can be a bit nosy taking no thought for people trying to sleep, and people argueing during that time of the morning....

Typical newer Spanish resort, excellent Marina and pedestrianised prom, within easy reach of Torremelinos and Fuengirola, plenty cheap and frequent public transport up to 11.45pm.
The "metro" style railway to local destinations and airport is up from main town in Arroya de la Miel, this is the residential part of the resort where Tivoli World is situated. Try the cable car its an experience. Take the bus up to Mihas a beatiful village but watch the prices in the frontage restaurants, a bit pricy when they stick all the little extras on such as 4e for the bread. Its about 2 e on the bus and takes abot 3/4 hour.
The price of the taxi fron the airport to the hotel was 24e, cheaper than the transfer bus. And do the BLANKET trip, you dont have to buy and its a great free trip to Gib or Ronda.
A final word of warning and listen to this one. The bus station in Fuengirola is crawling with timeshares, DONT accept any scratch cards from these touts who claim they are not time share. 3 7s is the once in a lifetime jackpot, my eye, its a right con so be warned.

Going in April the weather was really hot, but unfortunately there was not much open, so not much to do. Along the beach front especially if you were not to impressed with hotel entertainment or just wanted something different to do in the evening.

Benalmadena is clean and caters well for the spring holidaymaker, it has a very good beach and promenade on which you can walk or just sit and watch the world go by.

This was our first visit to the Costa del Sol. We thought the resort of Benalmedena was just too busy and built up for us. The main road we had to cross to the beach was very fast and scary. The whole area was a bit tacky, with bars and cheap gift shops in abundance. Looking round the rest of the Costa del Sol, I think Benalmedena is probably one of the best areas. The whole area, including the beach, was very clean but it was just not for us.

Benalmadena Costa has certainly grown since our last visit and is very 'British' now. The Marina is still a good afternoon out especially feeding the fish and sipping a G&T.
We were lucky with the weather, averaging 28C most days. There are many restaurants to choose from but don't be fooled by the 'happy hour' ones in the evening when the price of food goes up slightly.
We found that eating and drinking out was not as cheap as it was pre-Euro. The restaurants we enjoyed (as our young son does not like junk food or chips at every mealtime) were Verona - where a perfect pizza or homemade risotto can be found.
The waiters are very friendly. Pappay's on the front was excellent as they serve chicken breast nuggets for kids. By far the most impressive, although a short taxi trip, was El Mirador in Torremuelle. A warm welcome, perfect bar and first class food. Cloth napkins, silver service and views over the sea. The seafood is gorgeous and not too expensive for the quality that you get.
We were lucky to see a UK celeb whilst there - a regular occurence apparently. The Sea Life Centre was small but interesting, especially feeding the Rays. Aroyo has again changed but worth the walk. We used the Super Sol's for provisions as they were well stocked and reasonable. English brands are very expensive.
The only negative points around the resort were finding a couple of syringes on the beach and the dog muck all over the pavements.

This resort was very clean, although we didn't travel very far. I actually didn't like the beach at all. The sand was very black and at some points you could smell sewage. We went one day and walked along the sand. We didn't stay long. If you go off the beaten track a little you get some great little restaurants, quite reasonable.

Benalmadena is a good resort for families and singles.
If you want to avoid the English bars and stuff, the town has lots of Spanish bars and restaurants.
Beautiful park with animals and birds, and 3 cafes.
It is the only Costa del Sol resort I have ever stayed in, and I was pleasantly surprised. I would recommend restaurant Authentic, down on the front, a 5 minute walk from Benal Beach Hotel, great food, and lovely staff.
There is a good train service to and from the airport, cheap, clean and frequent trains. Taxis are cheap so no need to drive if you don’t want to.
Great fiestas regularly celebrated, and there is a new complex being built which will have indoor pool, gym and ice rink.
I do not know about resort entertainment as it’s not my scene

Typical Spanish resort, very clean and I would have though something for everyone.
Loads of pubs clubs etc if that's what you are looking for. Good restaurants at the port, go to Pacino's at the port the finest fillet steak we ever tasted, anywhere and a canneloni to die for!
Long beach not crowded when we were there, a nice place for families and couples.

To the front of the hotel there were a large array of mainly quiet bars resturants and shops although in the summer it would be more lively.
To the rear was the promenade and beach which again had beach bars and restaurants.
The Harbour was less than ten minutes walk away with many resturants. Boat trips where also available from the harbour.
We could not recommend this hotel and resort more highly.
