Yes, there was a large amount of Spanish people in the hotel, but on the whole this did not cause us any problems, in fact I would say that some of the British holiday makers could do with some lessons in manners, especially whilst sitting by the pool, we found it embarrasing when one group of young ? men sat around using expletives at the top of their voices, in front of family groups.
On the whole the hotel was good for a 3* and yes the walls were a little thin, but we will probably go back there.

The major downfall of the rooms was the fact that the walls were made of wafer. I could hear the man nextdoor taking a dump - which means he could hear me (that is something you would not want to experience - sorry if I caused any trauma).
There was also a large vent in the bathroom linking my room to the one nextdoor which means he could smell my dump as well as hear it. It seemed that if you wanted to, you could climb through the vent to the next room! I was tempted but refrained.
The main problem with our stay was the amount of small aggressive Spanish pensioners that congregated in reception - the animals in Fuengirola zoo were less aggressive, even the crocodiles.
Dinner time in the hotel was scary to say the least; there were bingo wings flapping around everywhere and an overwhelming smell of old people. We avoided eating in the hotel through fear of the nightly stampede. Although the restaurant did look nice I would not risk death by pensioner.
I can't comment on the entertainment as we didn't stay in the hotel at night.
To summarise, the hotel was ok with the exception of the thin walls and the old people. If I had to describe fuengirola park hotel I would say it is a cross between being in a riot and a retirement home - agitated old people are what make the fuengirola park hotel.

It was like going into an old age complex the older people were fighting over tables in the morning not once did any of the staff speak to you, we went half board and had breakfast most mornings but evening meals...NO THANKS!
I've never seen such boring and bland meals in all my life either over cooked or under cooked,as for new years eve we didnt bother going to the new years gala dinner as we were supposed to be seated eight to a table and my party didnt want to watch four others dribbling their food down them.
We had pensioners moaning how old the other pensioners were even some of them refused to eat in the restarant we complained to our airtours rep (geoff) who's arrogant attitude was..if we wanted to dance on new years eve or any other night we should have gone to trafalager sq (all the entertainment was old time dancing in the ballroom or organ and drums in the main bar).
The only good thing about this hotel was that it was clean, if you want a good nights sleep...don't stay at this hotel as the walls are paper thin...I could even hear my sister sneezing! And if your thinking about taking your children along with you...think again! They do not cater for children...entertainment and food wise.

The location was great and in the perfect position for all the bars and the beach and the shops are a smll walk away. The only concern is there is a reallly busy dual carridge way that you have to cross before you get to the sea front and this can cause problems at the busier times of the day.
The staff were all friendly but there was a slight problem with language barriers as te reception staff spoke portuguese so not to help ful when ur in Spain. I never visited the enntertainment but io think it was more aimed at the older audience with dance classes and things like that.

We each had a twin room - clean and spacious - but the walls are paper thin and there are constant water / tippling sounds coming from the bathroom wall vents at all times - yes, even through the night, all night!!
Nevertheless, we were on holiday and made the best of it. The food wasn't too bad although limited choices for vegetarians - I managed to survive. Dad complained on the first night that his veg was stone cold but inspection revealed that he got part of his meal from the old servery as he got mixed up!!
The dining room could get quite busy and I imagine that in peak holiday times,it may not be conducive to a relaxing meal. The staff in the restaurant worked none stop, topping up the serverys and cleaning / setting tables etc.
The hotel location is on the outskirts of Fuengirola but is well situated for the local bus / train services. It is a very pleasant, although long, walk into the centre but there are plenty of nice bars to visit on the way. There is a subway at the back of the hotel to access the seafront.
We found all the staff helpful and friendly. The Sunset rep, Douglas, was brilliant.
The entertainment could be better. The main entertainment bar area is on the lower ground and the stench of old cigarettes was overpowering, I'm afraid, therefore the only other option for entertainment in the evenings was the ground floor lounge bar and even then, it was on a limited occasions - a bit boring. There were different activities arranged during the day, for guests to participate if wanted to.
During our holiday, the weather was atrocious and we thought that more activities / facilities could have been provided in the hotel ie there is a TV room but this has limited Sky TV - the option of watching some videos would have been ideal. During torrential rain, after some pressure, the reception allowed guests to access the ( closed) sister hotel next door to watch a video on a couple of occasions in the lounge area (but the videos were really old).
On reflection, we have stayed at better hotels but paid more. We have also stayed in worse hotels and paid more, as well. We have tried not to let the appalling weather prejudice our opinion of the hotel and resort and would probably go back.

My partner June who had booked the holiday was not to happy at a number of reviews that i read out to her but it was now to late and all we could do was go ahead and make the most of our holiday.
On arrival we were plesently supprised as the reception area was clean but dated looking, rooms were basic but clean (cleaned on a daily basis) the only problems that i would say about the rooms were that the walls were paper thin and you could Hear the people next door snoring etc.
The food was very basic and quite bland and if you did not get out of the way you would be trampled by a hoard of spanish pensioners as the hotel was full of them.
The hotel was off the beaten track but suit us as we did not mind the 5k walk to the center of town.
Staff were not very helpful and seemed more eager to please their fellow countrymen/women with the exception of the pool attendant who always had a smile on his face and a pleasent word.
Entertainment was totally for the locals and was very poor, we had to go out most nights and entertain ourselves.

I must admit that the staff here prefer to speak the native tongue but would you expect tourist to this country to speak some English? YES I hear you think well if you think that why not try a little Spainish when in Spain ?. No est muy dificultia abliar Espaniol.
I found that speaking even a little spanish with the staff broke down a lot of barriers and yes the staff do speak English but remember you are in thier country and the mother tounge is Spanish.
The hotel was clean tidy but slightly 80's what a talking about last year I visited Bulgaria and the hotel was still in the 40's.
The fact that no t shirts in the pool was being pushed was to comply with the Spanish enviroment department rules the law is the law after all.
Would I return to this hotel?.
For the entertainment that I was witness to NO BUT there is plenty of British theme bars in the locale.
for the amenities offered if I was on a tightish budget then the answer would be YES without a doubt.

I must admit the hotel itself was quite clean and very nice to look at from the inside. The main problems for me with the hotel were the fact that this hotel was catered entirely for Spanish guests and not English.
The entertainment was horrendous, the food wasn't too bad if you didn't have a child with you but for children there was no food whatsoever! They most certainly did not cater for children. My son lived on sausage and beans one day and beans the next (as they alternate the sausage from being some kind of foreign sausage to English - which would be fine if there was something else for my son to eat!).
The pool itself was very nice but when our friend's little girl got burnt she tried to wear a t-shirt in the pool and was told by the poolside staff that she either took it off or got out of the pool! He actually told this direct to a 5 year old girl, rather than looking for her mum, who was then in floods of tears and wouldn't get back into the pool. There would have been no harm in letting her wear the t-shirt - he was just being plain nasty! He told us we weren't allowed inflatable in the pool which was fine (I have been to hotels in the past where this has been the case) and we accepted that - but the following day he had let a Spanish family take their inflatable into the pool!
I loved Fuengirola itself, and the beaches were fab! But unfortunately I would never recommend this hotel to anybody.
The pub food over the road was fab though!

First meal was chaos, could not enjoy food for being banged and knocked about by other diners. First breakfast led to spending half an hour looking for a clean table, and in the end cleared our own.(THAT WAS DUE TO NOT ENOUGH STAFF)
Staff were so miserable never acknwledged you either morning or evening. Our room was on the shaded part of the hotel, never got any sun except early morning.
The noise during the night can only be described like a bar room brawl, both from upstairs and along the corridor. Entertainment catered only for the Spanish people, that was the majority of guests.
Food was boring and bland. Would never return.
