The better rooms are over looking the pool or beach. Do not get a room overlooking the function room

Worth paying the sea view supplement as you get a fantastic view from your own private balcony.

The resort is clean as are the beaches. There are few bars & clubs with entertainment most of which is street based. Not many good quality shops either.

Nerja is a lovely place with lots of narrow streets and masses of resteraunts, catering for all tastes, including the Cod Father for those whole like good old fish and chips, the area in front of the hotel is a trafic free zone and the centre of the evening walks by locals and visitors. Yes i would go back to the area but not to this hotel.

Nerja is known as the 'Jewel of Spain'- not hard to see why. It is a very pretty resort. We felt safe there - ideal for young families and couples of any age who are not looking for 'Clubland'. There are many restaurants in the town ranging from tapas,pizzerias,multi-cultural etc to gourmet. Two that stand out for us personally are Le Petit Francais and '34' which is a Michelin starred restaurant within the Hotel Carabeo - booking essential for both.We plan to visit again when the classical concerts are being performed in the caves.

this is a resort for people without teenage children as there is not any entertainment for them.
it is more suited to couples and families with very young children.
eating out in Nerja is excellent, with restaurants to suit all tastes.
we shall certainly visit this resort again.

Nerja is a lovely town, a mixture of old Spanish and new. The selection of restaurants will cater for everybody's taste, and the cafes are ideal for sitting outside and watching the world go by. People interested in sampling typical spanish entertainment should go to El Molino. Try and get there for midnight when the lights are turned off and the singers sing a hymn to the staue of the Virgin Mary which is on the back wall!! Another, not spanish bar, we enjoyed was Irish Annies. On Wednesday and Sunday they have live Irish music. Perhaps not what you are looking for in Spain, but entertaining never the less.Try Burriana beach for the best sand and selection of beach bars.

This was our 5th visit to Nerja.
The resort is ideal for couples wanting a holiday just to chill out. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, cafes and shops to please everyone. You will not have to worry about rowdy clubbers in this resort, it's just not that type of place.
There is not really a lot for children or teenagers and I would imagine they would soon be bored stiff. At night the square is the main focus of attention and there is a great atmosphere there.
The caves, which are about 10 mins away, are well worth a visit.
Granada too is worth visiting although it is about 1-1/2 hours drive away. Make sure though if you do visit here, you don't get there around siesta time as everywhere is shut.
Nerja is a very quaint resort and a lot different from it's neighbours further south down the coast.

This was our 2nd visit and not much has changed - still Spanish and not that tacky.
As it was only March - still a few places closed but enough to occupy me and Mrs Toffeeman as we only went for a short 4 day break away from the little toffee's (not so little anymore!).
We loved Nerja the 1st time we went 5 yrs ago and nothing has changed our opinion of the Town.
We will return !.

Apartr from dog's droppings on pavements cleanliness is fine. There is always something going on in Nerja and the Balcone must be visited each night. The beaches are good with all the facilities that a person could need. Visits to Granada, Ronda, Seville etc are a must. We probably will go back as wherever else we go we always compare it to Nerja.

One of the best things about this area is you have a choice on where you spend your time. There are area's where its young and lively and there are the area's for families. If you really want the quite life then go at end of Sept or Oct. The sun is still hot enough to sunbath and there is plenty of space to do it in.

Loved Nerja - there is such a laid back friendly atmosphere to the place and you get to see the real Spain as opposed to the more commercialised resorts. This place is perfect for a quiet relaxing holiday - I will definitely be back and I absolutely loved walking around the shops and square in the evenings, went on a couple of trips (you should go to the caves if you can) and even managed to take the local bus to Malaga for a day trip (adventurous for me!!!). This resort is perfect if you want a quiet holiday to relax and enjoy the spanish way of life - i wouldnt hesitate in recommending you go and i will be back soon when i need to chill out and recharge my batteries.
