The better rooms are over looking the pool or beach. Do not get a room overlooking the function room

Worth paying the sea view supplement as you get a fantastic view from your own private balcony.

The resort was absolutely beutiful, wasnt commercialised like most spanish resorts, it was a very spanish old traditional place. Loads of entertainment on in the square for all ages. You have pleant of bars & resteraunts to eat at, all very nice. The Burriana beach which is the main beach is very clean, toilets which are cleaned every day and shoewers which come in handy. Loads of resteraunts and cafes on the beach front for snacks or meals. I definitley recomend that if you go to Nerja you definitely spend a day down the beach, we spent a whole week down the beach.

Nerja is a small quiet and pleasant resort but there is very little to do. I saw nothing for children at all.It gets very noisy in the evening when the local youths start racing around on motorbikes and scooters.
The beaches are quite nice but as with the pavements you have to watch out as there is a lot of dog dirt around.

Although Nerja is not as commercialised as other costa del sol resorts it's not a sleepy old resort either. There is dog dirt and graffitee but its hardly noticeable. The Balcon de Europe is the heart of the resort and comes alive at night with artists, toy sellers, human statues etc.The roads/alleys leading off the Balcon are filled with the usual tat shops, beer offs and perfume parlours. You'd never starve in Nerja as there is an myriad of restaurants and bars throughout the resort. The beaches vary from sand to shingle but shelve quite steeply,Playa Torrecilla was our favorite. You can catch local buses from the bus station on the edge of town to Malaga, the caves which are well worth a visit and to Frigilliana which isn't.There's also a mini train [the wally trolley] which pretty much goes around everywhere which if anything lets you see that away from the centre Nerja is pretty scruffy.I think Nerja would suit couples but if you've got kids better head for Torremalinos.

Ok but the roads were very busy with scooters and traffic.

The Balcon de Europa is lovely to see.
Nerja is a nice town maintaining it's original Spanish character. We saw a lovely wedding in the town church, just near the Balcon. There are plenty of bars and places to eat. There is a weekly market, but be warned, it can be hot.
There is a bus station for easy commuting to other locations, such as Frigilana, the caves, Malaga etc.
There is even an old dissused sugar factory and aquaduct which have to be seen.
There is regular entertainment at the Balcom, including mime artists, painting, portraits, and while we were there a small music festival.

Nerja is a wqonderful, typically Spanish town with loads of charm. It's also very clean and there is plenty of pubs, restaurants and cafes to while away the time. The beach itself is very nice, clean too.
Overall I would recommend a trip to Nerja to couples and families alike, it has plenty to offer and you'll want to return yourself one day!

Resort is smallish with lots of narrow streets with whitewashed houses and apartments, hotels tend to be small (some exceptions) and relativly low rise. Streets seem to be cleaned every morning. Centre of the resort is the square at the Balcon de Europe with street artists performing most days. Lots of cafe's and shops. Several beaches, all clean and the views are magnificent all along the coast. Good views of the moutains and lots of excursions available. A very relaxing resort, will certainly return.

Nerja is a lovely place to visit.
It would be lovely to own property in this town. The local people are always willing to help you and make you feel at home.

We don't venture very far as we go away to recharge the batteries. The trips to the local market and caves were popular with other guests. A stroll along the Balcon de Europa is also enjoyable.
