My husband and I have just returned after two weeks at the saluaris palace hotel and I must say that we now need another holiday. The hotel was well located for the port aventura theme park ideal for people with children as it is only a 10 minute walk.

What can I say posotive about the hotel ? Rooms were clean but not overly spacious and the maid gave us some extra coathangers! The novelty of room 301 is that the very nice marble sink top extends over the top of the toilet seat so that you have to sit on the toilet sidesaddle!

The staff at the hotel are quite unfriendly towards the british but quickly took euros without blinking it cost us 80 Euros to hire a fridge (Empty at that) and kettle for two weeks, I thought this rather strange as the fridges are already in the rooms and turned on so surely as with the safety deposit boxes it would be easier just to give people the keys to the fridges when they book in.

The hotel is noisy you cant get to sleep at night before 0100hrs and then your awake again around 0500hrs as the hotel walls are so thin that you can hear every noise, and don't expect it to be better in the day as the maids are very noisy so no siestas either,

As for the food my husband is a hgv1 driver and has eaten better in Romanian accomadation.

All I can say is the salauris palace will not be receiving any recommendations from myself and is letting down the reputation of the H10 chain.

We found this hotel to meet all our needs.

We traveled as a family, myself, my wife and 3 daughters aged 1, 3 and 17.

The hotel is located in the middle of the beach and Portaventura, 10 min walk to both, although the walk to Portaventura is all uphill. The location was ideal as it is far enough from the middle of Salou so you

When we arrived we were told that our room was not ready. We had an hour and a half wait. This didn't go down too well as we had been up all night with two young children. That is really the only down side as everything else made up for it. The porter took our cases up to the room which was spacious and had plenty of storage. The safety deposit box was free and a fridge was also available at a small cost. Our room was at the front of the hotel looking up toward Port Aventura. The restaurant did have a wide selection of food (not always to our taste) but tried to cater for different nationalities. The pool area was lovely and always clean. The entertainment was pretty good compared to other hotels I've stayed in. I would definately visit this hotel again!

The hotel is immaculate and very clean, always see staff cleaning areas and pool very clean.

Now the drawback i awoke at 0650 in the morning and people were reserving sunbeds.......

We chose the roof top solarium which is supposed to be for over 16's but still had screaming kids from downstairs without there parents coming up to anoy us older ones....

i stayed here last year and returned this year for 3 weeks but sadly the food has gone downhill and the restaurant staff dont clear the tables used before we arrived so stand around like plums waiting to get it cleaned.

the drinks are tad overpriced for small sized measures.

Check in was very quick and efficient and cases were taken straight up to our rooms for us.

Hotel rooms and cleanliness excellent, couldn't be faulted. Rooms cleaned well every day and clean towels available when required. We had one of the larger rooms, which also accommodated 2 extra single beds. We had loads of space and lots of wardrobe space too. Mattresses clean and new (Yes I checked!!!)

We had rooms overlooking the road, which was ideal for our 3 year old, who loved watching the buses and cars go past. We also got to see the fireworks at Port Aventura each evening from our balcony. Noise not a problems from the road.

I've put staff down as a 3 -- most were excellent, although one in particular rude and arrogant.

Location I've given as a 5 -- a 10 minute walk to Port Aventura (could've done it quicker, but with little ones it takes about 10 mins). A similar walk to the sea-front.

Entertainment went from dreadful to amazing!! The Chinese Act was absolutely fantastic, a must see. Boney M were good too. There was also a parrot show which the kids enjoyed.

The food was a bit of a let down in all honesty. The kids tended to stick to fries each evening, although there was a children's buffet section. There was a carvery which was good and offered a different meat each evening. I wasn't so keen on the main meals in the servery, although there was always one thing at least that I liked so certainly didn't go hungry!

Breakfast, in my opinion was better than the evening meal. I like omelettes and these were cooked fresh for you every morning at breakfast. There was a good selection of cereals/cooked breakfasts/ham/pastries/ etc.

The down side of the restaurant was that the plates weren't cleared from the tables very quickly at all. You could be sat eating dessert and the soup bowls and main course plates would still be on the table - which to me was not good service at all.

We've been to Salou three times now and probably won't be going back for a few years. I've put that I wouldn't visit the hotel again, but that's only because I don't really like going back to the same hotel again when there are so many others to try.

The hotel is in a brilliant location if you want to go to Portaventura, a five min walk up the hill, and a 10 min walk from the lovely beach. The hotel was always spotless and staff mostly friendly. We stayed half board, with two fussy eating children, and every day they found something they wanted to eat, although one of them was chips! Breakfast was buffet stlye with an English option, cold meats, croissant, pastries, or fruit and yoghurts, drinks were included. Dinner, again was buffet style, with salad option every day cold meats cooked meat, lamb, veal, pork or fish, again there will be something you like, but you have to buy drinks, no water on the table, so remember money when you go down for dinner. The entertainment started with a childrens disco every everning at 9.30, and then main entertainment at 10pm, we didn't see a lot of it, but what we did seemed ok. I would recommend this hotel.

Just returned from a really good holiday at the Salauris Palace Hotel.

Great things abouts this Hotel :-
1 ) Location - 10 mins walk from Port Aventura Theme Park , 10 Mins from Beach and Salou Town Centre.

2 ) Kids mini Club - well run hotel based mini club for Over 4 yera olds. Our 4 year old loved it - 2 sessions one in the morning one in the afternoon (2 hours each) Great for a bit of relaxation time.

3 ) Cleanliness - rooms cleaned every day - all common areas of hotel kept clean.

4 ) Bar/entertainment finishes at 12 everynight - (especially good if you are directly above it - and salou has plenty of bars that stay open later)

Room for improvement :-

1 ) Food - good choice of food on most nights - although as with most hotels by the second week can get a bit repetitive. Also first 2 nights we were there we were served very pink roast pork and raw burgers (you can always take it back and get something else which we did - and we didnt see that particular chef again for our stay so I think the hotel took note!)

2 ) Lifs - at least one was out of order 90% of the time we were there - not good for pushchairs and suitcases.

3 ) Holiday Reps - as ever only wanted to tell you about the trips - no mention of the train station (10 mins away) - where you can eaily make your own way to barcelona / tarragona - or the facilities on offer at the hotel / resort. No different to any other holiday reps really.

Overall very happy to recommend this hotel and would definately stop again (as long as the dodgy chef doesnt return !)

The hotel was excellent we had a quick check in.

Reception staff were always helpful and friendly.We were very pleased with our room which was slighty larger and cleaned everyday and we had plenty of towels left for us.

The kids club was very well run.

The food was fine,and the staff were always accomodating if we decided to eat at lunch instead of tea time.

Location was fine and the hotel was situated in an nice area.

One of the lifts on our last few days were out of order and was a bit of a nuisance when waiting with young children and buggies on the fourth floor.

Overall the hotel was lovely and we had a very relaxing time and would highly recommend this hotel.

We visted this Hotel re we have visited other Hotels in The H10 group and once again we had a perfect holiday our rooms faced over the pool and were spotless.

Breakfast was full English plus cakes plus fruit,cheeses etc. Dinner was also of the same standard

The location was very good approx 800 metres to the theme park and the same to a perfect beach.

The hotel staff where excellent nothing was too much trouble.

Would we go back the answer is yes we have already booked for May 2008

Fast check-in,no problems with lifts.

Food not always to my taste but varied menu and plenty of choice. Hotel very clean,rooms spacious,free safe and air conditioning.

Pool area very nice had no problems getting a sun bed at any time and this is during school half term holiday. Great location just a 10 minute stroll to Port Aventura and 10 minutes to beach and town centre.

Staff friendly. Did'nt stay in for hotel entertainment,but something on every night and also organised games during the day. Would definately go back to Salou and this hotel.

If you fancy a change from hotel food would recommend Buddy's and Co, just down the road from hotel,best meal we had on holiday.
