Location
The rooms were lovely with plenty of space and a very large wardrobe. Air conditioning was awesome and a fridge to keep the drinks cold. Balcony was ace too with a few seats on it - ideal for sitting out for a drink, or just using to dry clothes and towels. Only slight annoyance was that seeing as it was a twin room/double room, the double bed comprises 2 single beds pushed together therefore they were prone to separating at random times.
Hotel was very clean - cleaned daily. Pool was lovely and plenty of free sunloungers to go round. If you have small kids, the little kids pool seemed to be keeping the kids happy forever.
Heard a lot of complaints about the food but what do you expect? You are abroad - it's not going to be your average british food. Having said that, they did go to a lot of efforts to make the selection as varied as they could. All you can eat too. Fried breakfast in the morning, toast, cereal, pastries etc. Dinner had a huge selection with about a dozen main dishes, lots of veg, salad, different potato options and there was the show chef cooking 3 dishes each night (roast pork/lamb/chicken, kebabs, steaks, chops, etc). Not a single time did I go down and find nothing that I wanted to eat.
All in all I was chuffed to bits with the hotel and i'm already planning my next trip.

Pool had scum around the edge of pool, told the rep and she said - well the water is clean!! Only ever saw the pool being cleaned once all week, my daughter had a chest infection after the first day in the pool!
The food: breakfast had hard fried eggs and bacon tasted of grit. The food was not replenished quickly, hence alot of waiting around. We were on full board, but we ate out most of the time.
The entertainment was done by hotel staff, awful, I recommend you go to the hotels just down the road for professional entertainment i.e. The Vil. La. Romana. I was told the hotel chain had been sold to f&g by another tourist and that is why the staffing level was so low. We have been so Salou many times, and can honestly say this is the worst hotel ever, supposed to be 4 star, I would not have given it 2 star.

There is a market on a Monday 10 minute walk from the hotel.
Our fridge in room never worked, we were only there for a week so didn't bother reporting it.
Breakfast was good dinner was not very nice.
As soon as you get to the hotel someone comes out to help with suitcases he will expect a tip.
If you have already booked to go to this hotel request a pool view and high floor as train station is on the opposite side we requested it and got pool view and high floor I still had to ask for it when we booked in though, if you smoke this is not allowed in your room but on balcony

The hotel was really nice and was spotless, the rooms had nice decor and slept 3.
The staff in reception was always polite and helpful as were bar staff. This hotel is used by Spanish people taking their kids to Port Aventura at weekends which means it is up to Spanish standards and says alot if they visit here frequently.
Drinks are about same prices as here you have to remember hotel prices are more than bar prices it's the same back home we just don't go to hotels often for drinks do we?
Food was good most nights my husband is a fussy eater and didn't like breakfasts as he hates eggs but they make great extra crispy bacon every morning so bacon butties are there is you don't like eggs or ham & cheese. Dinner has quote a good selection of meats every night and moussaka and chips & veg & salad bar. Desserts were nice gateaus, ice cream, fresh cherries, pineapple, watermelon every night though the food did get more up market at weekends when the Spanish people were there with fresh mussels& prawns or maybe they do that every weekend?
We had a great time - plenty of loungers for all and it was great not having to dash to reserve with towels. Pool was good size and small kiddies pool. Pool bar prices for food same as cafes in resort.

We hired a car and had no problems parking on the road outside. The food was ok there was always something to choose, they also made us a birthday cake free of charge.
The staff were friendly, the lady at the entrance to the resteraunt alway had a chat as she checked you ticket. The entertainment was not up to much, bingo etc, but they seemed to entertain the kids during the day.
Tthe bar was usually overrun with kids running around, we usually walked into Salou and had a drink.
On the whole we were very pleased with the hotel and would return if we got to Salou again.

Free transport to beach and Port Aventura was good but restricted to one service each way per day. Otherwise the only transport was the road train at 2.50 euros each , each way.
Entertainment was really only for children and was non existent on two nights due to Spanish football being televised in the bar.
When we arrived we had no room due to a mistake on the tour operator's part and had a lengthy wait to resolve the issue. Also no transfers to/from airport arrived. The hotel manager and reception staff were rude and unhelpful and refused any assistance whatsoever. Because of this we would not return.
Overall not what you would expect for a four star hotel.

Food was excellent fresh king prawns 2 days running mussels, squid, good choice of salads hot food etc.
There was no entertainment as it's too early in the season.
Rooms clean, staff friendly, prices great.
Only 10 mins from Portaventura and the same to sea front.
Overall a very good hotel for the money.

The food at best was inconsistent on a couple of days it was very good but the rest of the time I could only describe it as bland/tasteless often overcooked and cold.
The rooms were adequate(small) with a small balcony and fridge (no mini bar) and TV offering sky news and euro-sport in English everything else was in Spanish/German & French
Located on the edge of Salou it was 5 Min's from Port Aventura (closed for the winter) and the same distance from the local halt where trains run frequently to Barcelona
The hotel advertises entertainment .. there was not on the week we went
Whilst there, we had at least 2 power cuts the emergency generator didn't know if it wanted to work or not which meant reduced lighting and no water in the rooms. As a point of safety many of the emergency lights were defective making using the stairs dangerous
This hotel also holds a BSI QA certificate I fail to see why, it is not deserved. The general attitude of the staff (with only a couple of exceptions) was polite but far from friendly the maintenance program obviously doesn't work
The hotel has now gone non smoking with the exception of one side of the bar
Using Ryan Air it was a reasonably priced winter break
but we would not go again or could we recommend it
