Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

The resort of Salou was not too bad. From the hotel this was about a 10min bus ride. Plenty of shops and market stalls to look through. I think the best thing was its closeness to Port Aventura Theme Park. This was an amazing day out. If you are the type of person who likes just to sit by the pool or on a beach then this is quite a nice location. However if you are the type who likes to sight see around places then there are plenty of other hotels nearer the centre of Salou (with buses to a lot of locations)

Salou is a lovely resort and I would go back there, There are one or two other places to visit from there . And one thing I did notice there are plenty of public conveniences along the beach which must make it unique cause in most resorts you have to buy food or drink to use their toilets !!!!!!!!!!

Salou is a good place for a family holiday, there s lots to do, there s lots of bars and pubs, loads of choice for eating out as well as the usual mcdonalds and burger king. The resort is like any other its very clean but some back streets can be a little dusty.Port aventura is very good, you do need to spend a few days there to see all the shows and go on the rides. We went to nou camp stadium and barcelona zoo which was a really good day out well worth the money as is the family pub crawl,in all the pubs that you go in the kids are entertained while you enjoy a beer or two.the beach is nice and clean and is really shallow until you get so far out, there are little climbing frames and slides right along the beach for the kids also an amusement arcade with dodgems and other kiddies rides. We would definately go back to salou again. It might be worth checking out but we were told when we were there that the resort becomes dutch 18-30 in peak season, how far this is true i dont know as we were there in may.

the resort was lovely
Salou town itself is a little on the tacky side with many amusement arcades , british style pubs , street sellers etc but I kinda like that as long as I am not centered there! There are some good restaurants amongst the pie and chips establishments so all tastes should be catered for. We were always back in La Pineda by midnight so couldn't comment on the behaviour of party goers after a night on the town in Salou although it was very busy, but we did not see anything to concern us unduly. Some bins were overflowing but this was mainly on a night time and was gone by the next day , graffiti was not as big an issue as I thought it would be after reading reports last year.
The beach was mostly clear of any rubbish and was cleaned nightly.
The adventure park at Port Aventura was perfect for kids age 8 upwards and the waiting time for rides was always less than 15 minutes even at the end of August.Early evening was the quietest. Also the Aquopolis water park in La Pineda was excellent and better than the Costa Caribe water park which was extremely busy when we went and expensive to hire things.
Out of town excusions we would recommend would be the Barcelona day trip that includes the fountains and the Jeep Safari.

Salou is very clean. The beach is beautiful and although very busy you do not feel cramped. For younger children there are playgrounds dotted along the beach.
The Universal Theme Park is a must and you can easily spend a couple of days in here.

The resort it self was lovely along with entertainment..... there's loads to do especially for the children, would definately go back to Salou but would look for a higher standard of accomadation
