Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

Beaches
cap salou was clean enough lots of hills, which means lots of walking, but entertainment in the smugglers inn each night was pretty good so the walk back up the hills are worth it in the end.didnt see much of the beach but was nice.
Salou is very nice, spoilt only by the number of British bars and cafes. We found there was plenty to do there or a short bus journey away and would recommend Salou to anyone especially with children. Dolphin show was a big hit as was Port Adventura and Costa Caribe.
First time to Salou and the last - to be honest only went for the children - they wanted to visit the theme park. An excellent day out but a little bit disapointing -expected it to be bigger. On a family holiday entertainment was not on our agenda so give the main area a miss at night. Although did enjoy some very nice sea front resteraunts. Beaches were beautiful but a bit difficult to get to.
Would recommend for a family holiday but would not go back - only because would rather see other places.

The resort was just right during the day, however at night it was very noisey and for this reason I would not visit it again. Thank god our hotel was far enough away from the all night action.
Resort was nice and clean, plenty of shops and bars and the beach was lovely as was the promenade.
We will definately visit again. Thought it was a bit expensive though.

Salou is a great place to visit. It was my first time this year and already I'm planning for next year.
It is a typical Spanish resort, plenty of small stalls and shops, bars and restaurants at every turn.
The beach is fantastic and really clean. There are plenty of sunbeds and Cannopes available to rent for the day.
Everything is within walking distance.
Port Adventura & Costa Caribe are well worth the visit would get a days entertainment out of both.
Night life is great loads of pubs and clubs....plenty of Karaoke if you like a tune. Something for everyone of all ages.

Salou is spotless this time of year, very quite and not much entertainment. The beach looked as though it was swept every day and has fine golden sand.
I would definately go back to Salou especially at this time of year (Winter 2005)

Salou is a very large resort, we only used the beach on one day, but this was personal choice, we prefer a swimming pool.
We enjoyed walking around the shopping area, if you leave the main 'English' area, there are some beautiful shops. I went for quite a few walks on my own and was not afraid of being alone.
I also went to Tarragona on my own and had a wonderful day visiting ancient sites, well worth a visit but maybe not with children as I walked for 6 hours and only stopped once for a light lunch (15mins)!!!

Beach was lovely but cost a fortune on the beds and shades over the fortnight. The shopping opportunities are limited - just souvenier shops and some designer shops.
Restaurants were limited but did like the Boathouse and Grannys Kitchen - the food was great - for families it is very limited - if you eat on the main street you feel that you should hurry to finish because it is so busy.
Resort entertainment - didn't find much in the way of family entertainment - the Red Lion was probably the best one we found - the rest were more geared up for the heavy drinker!!
Beware of pickpockets - my sister was caught out catching a bus from Tarragona bus depot and whilst we were in the Police Station there were four other tourists there too all with the same problem from the night before!!!
Did actually travel in 2005 but the option was not available.

This has to be the worst place I have ever been. Can someone please explain why i would bother going to Spain to be in an area where everyone speaks English watches terrible entertainment and eats pizza everynight.
The resort itself is dirty with rubbish all over the floor, the shops sell British magazines and other rubbish, and if you've got to be joking if you actually want something nice to eat.
I think all the grafitti everywhere rounds it off nicely.
Back to the food, I am wheat intollerant but did not think this would be a problem as I expected to be able to get plenty of sea food, paella and tapas for which I thought Spain was famous for. no such luck. I found one nice fish restaurant in nearby Cambrills, and everywhere else just served pizza, burger and chips. I actually lived on tins of tuna and crisps!
