Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

Beaches
What can I say, an absoloutely wonderful resort. The streets were always clean, beach was always clean, the shopts are fantastic. Although we did not take on any of the resort entertainment from what we heard from others it was excellent. Yes we would visit the resort again as cannot fault it in anyway.
salou is ok but as most tourist areas repeating shops selling much the same items and none off them cheap. restaurants are ok. the promenade is brilliant
We found that the resort was very clean, although we got lost a few times, but by the second week we knew where we wanted to go. The beach was lovely and next year we want to spend more time on it, it has water sports and facilities there. We went in September and they were all open. Shops were good. We didnt know much about the entertainment in the resort as we stayed in our hotel but next season we are going to try. It is very child friendly and welcomes all ages which was nice. Buses are very frequent and they are very helpful not that dear either. Anyone with family should go they would like it
salou is a lovely place loads of fountains and things along the proms, kids parks, a good bus system to get to all over costa dorada. theme and water parks.
We are returning to Salou this year for the third time, it is our favourite resort. The beech is very nice, with a wide promenade behind with palm trees, and a small evening funfair at one end. There is a wide choice of places to eat, both spanish and english food, and we found no problems feeding our very fussy childen, prices are reasonable too. The town centre area has a reasonable choice of shops and is lively in the evening, but never 'rough' and nice features like the fountains make it pleasant to walk around in the evenings. The best feature by far is the Portaventura just at the back of the town, which is fantastic, and possible even better that Disneyland Paris, certainly of the same size and standard. We have bought season passes from Virgin this year so could go every day for 14 days - if we had the energy. The problem with Portaventura is that it can be a very long and hot day, so you need to pace yourself, since the end of day show is well worth staying for. You can walk back to town, but it takes about 30 minutes which was OK with pushchairs, but not for small children, we will take a bus or taxi this year. Salou is highly recommended by us for families with small children!
The resort was bustling and always some entertain happening, plenty to do for families, and all age groups those single and couples!! Plenty of Restaurants, Pubs and Bars, everything to cater for every taste!
Salou is popular with families and very busy in high season especially with Spanish.Clean and pleasing on the eye nice beach and promenade.Plenty shops'bars, restaurants Vines one of the best also Zeezicht and Dog&Duck.Port Aventura a must easy to get there and a full day of entertainment.Barcelona beautiful place well worth a visit but take train cheaper and quicker.Great time had by all!
The resort was very busy and prone to pickpockets, plenty of entertainment on offer but we did not leave the hotel much, port aventura well worth the money and a ,agood base for exploring different towns a day trip to barcelona by train was pretty straighforward
This is the third time we have stayed in salou and again we had a brilliant time. We found the apartments were in a good location although on a busy roundabout which didn't bother us.There is a nightclub next door but we rarely heard it the noise we heard came from the calafornia gardens they had a spanish singer who sounded like the smurfs tring to sing i just called to say i love you , you can imagine how bad that sounded mind the noise always finished at about 12.30am. There is plenty to do in salou including port aventura which we went to for our 9th time. There is also costa carribe and aquapolis water parks. You can also walk along the promanade through old salou and on to the lovely fishing village of Cambrils where you can have something to eat then have a boat trip or glass bottomed catamarng trip back to Salou. There is plenty of eating and drinking places so you are never short of anywhere to go and loads of ENGLISH BARS for those of us who like to sit with brits. The beaches are lovely and clean.overall a great holiday.
food a bit more expensive than we thought but was worth it. great meals in cottage, buddys and the vines.
great nights in shenannigans, danny boys. too many to mention.
will definetely return
