We were very disappointed in the standard of this 3 star Hotel, it was very overcrowded without the facilities to accomodate the guests.

Food was ok but there was little fruit, had to drink from a soup bowl! and stir it with your knife/fork- no teaspoons!!

Drinks were awful with very limited choice.

Pool area was dirty and seating was limited, snacks only available 4 hrs a day - not typical all inclusive.

The accomodation was basic but the cleaninging ladies were very friendly.

We spent all day at the beach which was very good.

If you have chosen a holiday in Tunisia do not stay here, go elsewhere, even if you have to pay a little extra, as there are some wonderful hotels in Tunisia and this is not one of them !!!!!!

This Hotel is absolutely dreadful, the rooms are an absolute disgrace and look like they have not been upgraded in 30yrs. The cleanliness of the rooms is a shocker and putting flowers on the bed in no way makes up for the poor conditions, the bedding looks like hospital theatre sheets (dark green ) and the room we were in was overrun with beatles and spiders, they even got in the beds. In the restaraunt the food is edible and thats the best i can say about it, the choice is pathetic and there is never enough cups so you have to use dishes, and teaspoons are a luxery.
There are two bars in this hotel, a pool bar and one inside, they are far too small and the selection is pathetic, the drink is absolute MUCK, there is never enough of the plastic tumblers so then you get a tiny plastic cup like you get at the dentist to rinse your mouth, a complete waste of time.
The boys who do the entertainment try really hard but it all seems to be for children and every night is exactly the same, after a few days it gets very boring. This hotel needs a complete overhaul to bring it up to any kind of standard, they have got a nerve to give it Three Stars, it's not even a Two Star.
This has been the worst holiday we have ever had and i would'nt recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed at the Dar Khayam for 2 weeks and loved it.

We were concerned when we read bad reports, but after being there we can only guess that the people expected 5 star accommodation for 3 star prices.

The rooms were basic, but clean.

Yes they are a horrible blue colour, but so are the surrounding hotels as blue and white are thought to ward off evil in Tunisia.

The reports on the food said no meat, well only beef, veal, chicken, pork, hamburgers and spaghetti bolognese.

The drink was ok too, just the usual all in drinks, vodka, gin, whiskey, pernod, 2 local spirits, white, red and rose wine.

Staff were very friendly and didn't hassle for tips.

Only saw 4 or 5 beetles in the gardens and ants but it is north africa.

Hotels own beach is lovely and good choice of water sports at good prices.

Entertainment mainly for kids but good.

On the whole for the money it's great value and I would return no bother. I think some people want everything for next to nothing and are unrealistic.

If you want 5 star go to Port el Kantoui or Yasmine, and pay the extra.

This is a good family hotel well worth the visit.

Hotel was very dirTy and had stained and torn sheets on the beds, maids were friendly but didnt clean under the beds for the whole two weeks we were there and probably hadnt done so for some time.

In need of complete refurbishment, standards were not up to three star.

Cannot believe it has such a star rating!!

I read bad reports and almost changed our holiday, I am so glad I didn't.

The food, although could be a bit repetitive, was lovely, restaurant was clean and airy, never had to wait for plates or glasses etc.

All staff were brill especially the entertainment team, nikki says hi to Momo, Nino and the gang, they were great with kids of all ages. Also the lovely surprise in the rooms on our last nite was great.

Look out for the Michael Jackson tribute, great!

Didn't see one cockroach or ant, although I know some people who were not in main hotel did have some ants.
Beware of the sellars on the beach, they were a bit pushy.

The only reason I wouldn't go here again is that I like to try different places. The hotel photographer is great. The lovely gardens take you to the even lovelier beach.

This holiday resort is dangerous for children, and adults. It was filthy, pieces of ham on the floor that you slipped on, like my 6 year old son, and bruised his arm. Hotel food is all Tunisian food, muslim food (No meat) Due to there relidgeon. The location was alright however the "Child Friendly" beech was COVERED in jelly fish, Thats how my eldest got stung on the shore 4 times on different days. Hotel staff expected tipping before they did work for you, Thats not right. Entertainment exploited sexual terms and was straight after the childrens show which resulted in my 6 year old child to go round shouting "prostitute all inclusiveeeeee" This is diabolical. I would never visit this hotel again, however we only got back a few says ago and my youngest son is in hospital with food poisoning, this must prove something. Also My eldest son spent a week in hospitaL after been drownt by a local Tunisian when he walked through the beech way because security was stacking up the sunbeds, With the life guard.

We've just spent two weeks at this hotel and had a great time. Rooms were extremely clean and big enough for our needs. Maids were lovely, still in touch with one of them. Staff couldn't do enough to help and were great with the kids. There was loads of choice as far as the food was concerned, too much choice sometimes, didn't know what to pick. Cakes were fantastic, the only reason I haven't put on weight is the 3 flights of stairs to our room. (Good excercise). Latif's camel trip is well worth the money (about

The cleanliness of the Dar Khayam left a lot to be desired, the resturant floor and table cloths were only changed and mopped when we complained to our rep this was after 6 days of being at the hotel, to look at the hotel you would think it was clean but that was only at eye level, we had dirty linen put in our room on more than one occassion, our bed sheet had large rips in them and wasnt changed for 5 days until we spoke to management and rep, towels had been put in the room covered in other peoples blood under the bed we had dead insects, lava, other people rubbish, this looked as if it hadnt been mopped or swept for sometime, the reason for me looking under the bed was that we had spilt lemonade and was cleaning it up to stop the ants coming in so cleanliness of the hotel was up to standards.

The hotel food was the same pretty much day in and day out if you like fish and beef youll be happy but will get sick of it after your 4 day as we did they have a small selection for the kids but that nothing to write home about either as for ice creams being unlimited you can only get these at meal times for the afternoon and evening when the resturant is open, we ate out of the hotel by the start of the 2nd week.

The location of the hotel was the best part about it as its only a minutes walk from the beach. The staff are ok, but are quick to hold there hands out for tips.

The entertainment was good in the day for the kids but on the evening needs to be improved a hell of alot the kids disco is the same music and order every single night the enterainment afterwards left me rather shocked for my 6 year old daughter so we stopped going down one evening they were showing how to give brith on stage, on another the were showing how different people from different countries went to the toilet.

The standard of the hotel is not a 3 star by any stretch this is one hotel you need to be open minded about.

I have just came back from spending 2 weeks in Dar Khayam and I can honestly say it is the best holiday I have ever had.

The rooms were cleaned everyday by the maids, new sheets, towels etc, laid out. They even made patterns out of the childrens clothes!

Restaurant was ok. The only problem was that it was the same food everyday, but I am a picky eater anyways and the rest of the family stuffed their faces!

The animation team was excellent, always trying to get people to participate in the games, but not pressing it if you didnt want to. Momo was excellent with the children at the kids club and the nighttime entertainment was great...especially the michael jackson show (in which coco looked particaulrly nice!)

The only regret I have is that on my last day, instead of giving out my address and number etc to the team (who i got friendly with), I got drunk and jumped in the hotel pool with my friends! By the time I got out they had left!
