I must say that after reading previous reviews I was a bit aprehensive about going - this was totally unnecessary. It was really good, we had a lovely time.

The cleaning staff at the hotel were good, they made lovely patterns out of the sheets and clothes, there were often flowers left on the pillows which the children loved.

The restaurant on the two occasions I went in there (when not having food) to get tomatoes (for stings or itching) was being thoroughly cleaned. The food was a lot of the same but fresh every day, with about thirty different foods being served at every mealtime there was plenty of variety for all tastes.
My children loved having fresh pancakes or omelette for breakfast.

The staff at the hotel were helpful and polite whenever we had to speak to them.
The hotel was right on the beach, via a walk through their gardens. Only complaint is that the sand was really hot!

The entertainment team were excellent, really talented! They encouraged people to join in all the activities although they didn't press if you said no. The evening entertainment was really funny although a little risky if you had children with inquisative minds. The Michael Jackson show was FAB!! Couldn't believe that it was the same staff day and night. really good. My children had to have a cd of the kids music that was played daily at the disco, so they could show their friends the dances they had learned.

This is the 3rd year that we have returned to the Dar Khayam.

The hotel is very clean, maids are out cleaning from very early in the mornings. Hotel staff very friendly nothing every seems to be too much trouble.

Always something you will fancy in the restaurant as the choice is varied, but there is always the snack bar outside serving chips and pizza!

Location couldn't be better as the grounds of the hotel go right to the beach. The biggest decission you have to make is whether you are going to sit by the pool of spend the day at the beach - what a hard choice to make!

In the 3 years we have been coming to the Dar Khayam we have never seen a 'Jelly Fish' never had any reason to complain about the food or the staff.

The only complaint our 5 year old daughter had was that the entertainment staff had changed and she was missing 'Joe' But the new entertainment staff worked just as hard.

We hope to be back again next year! See you there.

Me and my friend, both 18 visited this hotel an had an amazing time.

We were a bit worried because we were told it was for families but it was brilliant.

Food was ok bit repetitive, but what do you expect good value for drinks.

Weather was nice everyday.

This was our second visit to the hotel, we came a month earlier to visit the entertainment team who are with out a doubt brilliant.

Hotel was excellent and had a nice atmosphere. Stayed in annexe within large gardens that run down to hotel's beach. Room basic with balcony. ok for our needs. Friendly maid cleaned room changing twls and linen every day. Food was very good and plenty of variety.

The linguistic, jolly entertainment team had everyone laughing. They tried hard all day to make everyone feel included and welcome at activities eg light aerobics, aqua-fit, party games, beach volley-ball, archery, boats. join in or just sunbathe and relax. Sunbeds etc on the beach and staff watch out for pedlars if you are not interested in buying their fruit or doughnuts!

Tipping a porter for helping with luggage is no big deal (1 dina)50p. One just wanted a pen instead.

Would definitely go there again.

Just got back from this fab hotel. Found the rooms very clean and the maids were really friendly and left flowers on the bed every morning. Loved watching the food being cooked and talking to the waiters who do their job great.
Entertainment was fantastic, the animation team worked so hard to make our holiday fun and really make you feel welcome. Laughed so much on this holiday and would go back tomorrow!

Hotel Dar Khayam is excellent, had a great time there! The rooms were always clean and the food was nice. Three of us went to the Dar Khayam and had a fantastic time! The shows were great and so were the entertainment team. They were very friendly and we made really good friends with them! So we are going back in four weeks to see them.

We had been concerned about the negative reports on this site, but were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the Hotel. We were there peak season, when the hotel was fully booked. Our room was small, but not cramped, and kept spotlessly clean throughout by the maid. The restaurant is a bit like Hammamet Medina, with lots of queues going in every direction, to reach the many serving areas. A lot of the food was the same every night, but they did vary the fresh meat courses. I love spicy food, but found the meals to be of good quality, if somewhat bland. There was beef or veal stew on the menu every night, and this was perfect for children. Their pot roast beef was very good, and the coucous excellent. Breakfast hot or cold, with omelettes, fried or poached eggs, fried sausages (frankfurter type) as well as croissants, toast and fresh bread. Queues were occasionally long at the beer pump, which (outdoor) had only one small tap, and they served in half pint tumblers, which caused some delay and many returns. Germans made a habit of reserving their sunbeds the night before, which the hotel and Thomas Cook Reps stopped after complaints, which led to a much more relaxed holiday. Pool clean and beach lovely.

We have just come back from an extremely enjoyable holiday at this hotel. When we arrived the room was too small for the 3 of us and we were moved straight away to a perfect room by our rep and the hotel manager, with no hassle.

The porters were very helpful and the maids kept the rooms in perfect condition. Towels changed every day. Beds were made every day and left with a flower in the middle of each one.

The food was good and there was plenty of it throughout the whole day. There was something to suit every one and if our child would eat a plate full every night then it must have been good. (those who expected just English food should have stayed in England - they would laugh at a Tunisian if he came over to England asking for Tunsian food, I'm sure!!)

The entertainment team were fantastic during the day - you could join in all of the sporting activites if you wanted to or just lie back and watch every one else.

Some of the evening entertainment(done by the same team that had worked all day)was a bit repetitive if you were watching it for 2 weeks solid - but in the first week we entertained ourselves so it was quite nice to watch it on the 2nd week. Michael Jackson show was done extremely well. I don't know where they all got their energy from. Dali was brilliant and Abdol entertained the children in the kids club very well.

While we were at the hotel there was a problem with the sun beds and this caused several complaints. The hotel and reps dealt with it straight away and the next day 75 new sun beds had arrived. This solved the problem for most people but the few from 'whingers corner' as they were named, still weren't happy and spent the rest of their holiday complaining about just about everything. Basically this is a 3 star hotel and if you want 5 star teatment you should dig a bit deeper in you wallet and pay for it - or keep quiet and let everyone else enjoy their holiday in peace!!!
