The breakfast selection was very good from cereals, to hot freshly made ommellettes we recommend the hot croissants with a nice cup of tea. The evening mealstarted with a wide range of salads, soup breads, pastas were great the main served by waiter service was good somedays it was abit the same but always presented really well. The desserts, pastries and icecreams were good with a never ending supply of fresh fruit but the grapes didnt last long!!
The Hotel was 50 yards from the poolside which was great if you have a walking problem like I did you had the choice of sitting by the pool and swimming in the sea! The Staff, could not do enough for you we didnt find tipping a problem no pestering at the Hotel whatsoever.
The entertainment could have been better for high season, not enough for teenagers although luckily ours made friends very quickly with a terrific bunch of kids and had a wonderful two weeks with new friends.
The weather was brilliant everyday. We will definatley be going back to The Marhaba Palace Hotel in the future, or another 4/5 star in Port El Kantoui.

The staff were great, friendly and fun but without being 'in your face' Had never been to Tunisia before and we expected to be hassled all the time but this is just not the case.
The hotel was exceptionally clean and well looked after and our room had been recently refurbished so was in excellent condition. The cleaners were great and always made a point of making 'pretty patterns' with the bed covers and also my nightie!
The pool area was always clean and well looked after and if you talk to the right people you can always get a sun lounger by the pool.
The food is second to none. We didn't realise that the main course at dinner was waiter service, so the first night we were really impressed with the selection and had soup to start, followed by salad, followed by a lovely pasta dish only to then find out that we had had 3 starters and our main course was to follow!!! But you must remember to save some room for dessert as they are to die for!
Only let down for us was the lack of entertainment. We expected that a hotel in this location and of this standard would provide better entertainment that a resident band (not much good) and the odd karaoke night.
We made friends with other guests so always made our own entertainment, also, as the port is only a few minutes stroll away it is well worth going for a wander in the evening.
We are going back to the hotel again in November this year and can see it becoming a firm favourite for years to come.

The hotel Maharba Palace is very impressive from the outside, the reception area is very impressive and the room are fairly clean although a little dated and in need of re-decorating (although I do think they are in the process of doing this). We did however have a problems with little beetles and ants living in the carpeted head board, although I did expect to experience some wild life in Tunisia, I did not expect to be sharing my bed with them, the problem however was resolved sympathetically by the cleaning staff after 2 nights of no sleep!!!!!
We stayed bed and breakfast, the breakfasts were very good with plenty of choice and food cooked to order, no one will go hungry as all tastes catered for. We did eat evening meals in the hotel on a couple of occasions which again were very nice but limited variety in the main course.
The hotel was in a prime location, port el kantoui within easy walking distance and Souise a short taxi or bus ride away.
Hotel staff very friendly and always willing to help (providing a tip is available) which is more than can be said of the local shp keepers who we found to be very pushy and rude if you decided not to buy anything from them!!!! The only way to deal with them is to be assertive and say a firm NO to things you dont want.
Entertainment in the hotel was poor to say the least, this was not a great problem for us as we enjoy each others company and can make our own entertainment. We would return to Tunisia but probabbly only for a week and to relax as there is not a lot to do anywhere but great weather and nice sceneary.

This hotel was lovely. I would recommend half board as the local restaurants in the harbour didn't seem to offer much more than the hotel restaurant. The food was great. They put examples of the main dishes on the menu outside the dining room, so that you can see exactly what you are getting. Don

If you go to Tunisia, This resort and this hotel are probably the best you could choose. However I would urge anyone to be very careful before choosing this country for a holiday. The hotel is very clean and well run, Our room was high up with a good view of pool and sea.The pool area was very nice and the beach beautiful. Our room was a little dark, but clean and comfortable, the maids here do an excellent job.The weather was very mixed for our two week stay but we still managed a good tan.The hotel offered a modern night club which was empty every night and the DJ kept falling asleep. Take advantage of the Spa. The food was ok for the first few days but gets very samey, we used to avoid even walking past te resteraunt for our second week because the smell made us feel sick. This being the case and the lack of nightlife and a proper drink meant we have had better holidays, I would recomend this hotel for older couples with no children
