Our holiday was the most relaxing and one of the best ever.
Nothing was to much for any of the staff. The hotel was in an excellent location, very clean and friendly.
The food was always well presented and a very good choice given at each sitting.
The entertainment was always well presented and not always to our taste but you cant please all the people all the time.
Although building work was being carried out next door it was no problems no noise or any interference to our holiday.
We were that pleased we came home and booked the same holiday for next year. The hotel should be proud of their hotel and staff they are all excellent.

I stayed at the Royal Beach Hotel In Sept/Oct 2006 and had a lovely holiday. It is a friendly hotel just large enough so people are able to get along. I have booked to return again at the end of March for 2 weeks and I am really looking forward to another stay.
The rooms where basic but kept very clean
The food was varied to suit all tastes and always hot, with plenty of choice.
The location of the hotel was perfect right on the beach and only a short stroll into town.
The hotel staff were all very helpful and friendly.

We stayed in this hotel for 1 week, we found our stay was brilliant. The rooms were very clean and were cleaned daily, the food was OK especially at dinner times.
You couldn't wish for a better location, the hotel was right on the beach, and within easy reach to Sousse main town. we all walked into the main town of Sousse which took us approx 1 hour along the sea front passing lots of shops, pubs and restaurants along the way. However if you are not a big fan of walking you can catch a taxi for about 4 dinar ( about 2 pounds).
The staff were fantastic so friendly and helpful, a big advantage for people like us who took a few children, as they always looked out for them, if they see you looking for one of the kids they came and told us where they were before we asked if they had seen them.
We did find the entertainment a little disappointing, only being on three nights a week, but the children soon amused themselves playing on the pool table and playing with the hotel cat, which one of our children fell in love with.
I loved this holiday and am looking forward to go back.

The Hotel Royal Beach in Sousse was one of the bigget letdowns I have ever had. On ariving the hotel looks small compact and clean. The rooms are something else. If you ever have the misfortune to be in room 126 look out for the wildlife.
The room is half over the kitchen and half over the night club, the cockroaches will pay you a visit in the bathroom, there was no running water, and after complaining we eventualy were moved to a sea view room which was a little cleaner, and no cockroaches.
the staff were good, but could not make up for the dirty floors and lack of repair. Holes in walls, no draws. lights that did not work.

we arived about lunch time to be greeted with the lovely aroma of sewage, the reception area seemed clean enough, took quite a while to check into our room considering not many people were waiting. we then got up to our room which..had a terrible smell :[
beds seemed clean enough and we slept ok the first night, but after that we were woke constantly from my nan's screams from the cockroaches running across her face while she was sleeping, needless to say we had the same visitors in our room night after night.
food was ok...if you like your eggs.other than that we ate in the snack bar.
the pool was warm but looked as though it hadnt been cleaned.
on a possitive note the beach was very close and clean, and the sea was lovely and warm...but...if you like being pestered by a large amount of men then its a holiday for you!!..that even included the two 14 year old girls that was with us... we never got a moments piece.
on the second to last day i came down with severe food poisoning and for 2 weeks after was in large amount of pain and lost quite allot of weight from it. nobody at the hotel or airport was even nice enough to help me as i couldnt stand.
all in all dont go! its a really money wasting un-enjoyable trip which left us with poorly tummies and sleepless nights.
the weather was lovely tho..its a shame we were to scared of going out of the hotel.

The hotel was clean the maids always left us extra towels and were very polite and helpful.
The food was nice a good selection was given each day. The location was great easy to get to where I wanted. The staff were very friendly, the atmosphere was very good.
I spent two weeks there my kids loved it as well. The entertainment was good. The person who sorted out the entertainment was very good, he had time to get to know the kids. My kids loved him.
I will be going back to the hotel next year. Im hoping to get there twice then.

Hotel nice and clean.

I had used this site to find out about the Royal Beach Hotel before we departed. It had mixed reviews so we kept an open mind. We, as a couple, found the hotel excellently situated, through the gate to a private beach or turn left out the front door and a twenty minute walk or dotto train ride through the main street and you are in Sousse centre.
The taxis were cheap to Port El Kanatoui. The Hotel was smaller than most and benefitted from this. It had an outdoor and indoor pool, bar, cafe and nightclub all on the premises.
The staff were great (avoid the shop though very pricey) and very willing to help. The food could have become repeatative in a second week. But there was a vast array of restaurants if you fancied a change.
The food was plenty, well presented and fresh. The carvery each night were very good. Being a Muslim country alcohol is as expensive as at home and take some duty free's to keep you topped up if you like a drink.
We loved the hotel and felt we had a fantastic deal. We could understand the negative comments but felt you needed an open mind and to embrace the different culture and way of life and then you would enjoy it. Not for the lager louts or brits abroad brigade.
Dont buy grapes on the beach for anything more than 2 or 3 dinar cause you are being ripped off.

Had an absolutely brilliant holiday thanks to the helpfulness and friendliness of the hotel staff, from the manager down. Breakfast not my forte normally but still found something to have, but don't want to see another egg for quite some time. Evening meal selection was good and you could vary it to your own taste.
Fabulous location, easy access to central Sousse and Port El Kantoui, plenty of amenities close by.
Room was great (303) side view of sea, a bit faded but spotless and roomy, space for 3rd bed.
Just booked to return at the end of Nov. for a week.
Entertainment OK but more geared towards families, kept the kids entertained though and they all loved the two guys doing this, who were so patient and friendly.
