We stayed at this hotel in July 2003 for the first time and it was excellent so we decided to stay there again in September 2004.
Unfortunatly it had changed drastically while we were there. The bridge that linked up the main hotel with the annex was pulled down in the middle of the day.
The hotel is lovely and the staff are fantastic like all turkish people they are very friendly, but the food leaves alot to be desired. It is repeated too often, we paid for half board but went out every night so we could eat something different.
One consolation to this hotel is that the orange grove behind it has an english lady there that welcomes all with open arms. This hotel is now offering all inclusive if you like german orientated food it will be ok for you.
Staff speak German Dutch English and of course Turkish.

The hotel is full of Germans, Dutch, Russians etc.
Obviously, the food catering is not for English people.
Yuk!! if you want Turkish trots for a fortnight then help yourself, unless you eat out where you have a more variety of choice.
Hotel staff speak more fluently in German and a very small amount of English although I have no complaints overall about the staff there.
Our room in the annexe was cleaned every day considering it had five beds crammed into it for four of us (where we slept lined up like soldiers) and the invading bed was never removed even after after we complained on the first day but it becamed a nice resting place for suitcases.
The verranda in the room was very small but if you craned your neck right over the edge you could see about 3 foot of the sea (partial sea view)! or you could stare straight into the outside eating area of the restaurant and watch people eat their food.

Hotel cleanliness:
The Hotel was extremely clean and the towels were changed everyday for fresh ones. The shower/bath was cleaned the floor was mopped everyday and even your balcony was sweeped/ washed. the cleanliness of the hotel was superb. A lot of the hotel was marble and it looked magnificent. It look a lot better than most of the other hotels that were situated in turkey.
Hotel food: The Hotel food was average and only average they served a lot of the same food over and over again and towards the second week we got very bored of the food although it was nice i began dreaming about home food and missing it !!
Hotel Location: the hotel loacation is very far out!! and the bus trip from antalya airport feels like it takes forever it was supposed to be a 1 and a half hour coach trip but it took about 4 hours !!!
Entertainment : Entertainment is ok they try their hardest you cant fault the really. The only annoying thing about the entertainment which is situated on the roof is that you cannot take your drinks up there unless you buy them there and the drinks are very expensive on the roof espeically if you are with a big party of people/

The food is good and the staff are polite .
The rooms are clean and the air con always works; We have holidayed at this hotel a few years now and are going again in august. The nightlife is better outside of the hotel, many little bars are in walking or staggering distance . A well liked bar is situated next to the hotel ,its called ORANGE GROVE.This bar has the cleanest loo in Alanya ,the staff speak excellent english, are always smartly dressed .If staying at the Grand Kaptan or nearby,I strongly recommend that you pay them a visit.

The food was good ,if you want a chippy tea stay in england.
THE ADANUS BAR near the hotel is ok but the staff are a bit over powering at times and that they seem to prefer the germans. THE ORANGE GROVE next door to that is a little more relaxed and the staff are not allowed to pester the guests. P.S the food is good there too.
Also about 5 mins walk out of town is a turkish bath about a third of the price of one in the hotel. The grand kaptan now offers a all inclusive package please dont be tempted as many residents were dissapointed by meal and bar times ie you have to pay for the drinks after ten at night ,to many people the night has just begun. All in all nice hotel nice area and friendly people.
