The room was a little basic but ok. Air con a bit noisy but a must. Struggled when we had a power cut one night as the temperature did not seem to alter much at night.
Turkish Bath and massage was an experience I shall never forget! Relaxing, cleansing, masseurs with a sense of humour. Don't ever do this if you have sunburn - ouch!
We went on a horseriding excursion adverised in the hotel. The family run stables were very welcoming. I would recommend this if you are into riding - but take a riding hat with you.
The entertainment was good - mimed (luckily in English) shows. Kids loved it and the disco afterwards.
This was our first AI holiday. There was alot of queueing for food/drink etc. I dont know if this is the norm.
The beach bar was our favourite - there was definitely a more relaxed pace and no queueing for food and drinks.
The beach is lovely and the water is delicious and warm - got sunburn here even with high factor on.
Partner enjoyed the catamaran sailing and watersports on offer.
The kids loved the slides. I found the lifeguards a little relaxed though. A bit busy having a fag and talking to their mates rather than watching what was going on around them.
A few niggly things have put me off returning to this resort:-
I cannot describe the daily hilarity; watching approximately 50 Germans fighting/diving into pools to try to obtain the much sought after sunbeds. We managed to find one when we could be bothered to look, and shared it between us.
Having to argue for an umbrella to shade my children, from a German family that had acquired 3 - they would not let me have one. I stated that if they moved I would take one. I quietly enjoyed watching them spend the whole afternoon glued to the spot - fearing that I would steal the umbrella from them if they left their sunbeds!
English people were in the minority here - this does not usually bother me, but I did feel a little bit like a second class citizen.
One day the swim up bar was left unattended. A group of 'Europeans' Jumped over the bar jeering and pouring out drinks for themselves - these were allegedly 'grown ups' - their behaviour was more like football hooligans.
We eventually realised the way to be understood was to speak German - especially at the bar. It seemed as if you jumped the queue

The Kamelya Complex comrises 3 properties - The (allegedly) 5* Hotel Selin and the 4* Hotel Fulya and the Kamelya Village.
We stayed in the Selin, which is a 7 storey block, similar to the Fulya. The public areas are fine but the rooms were a bit tired. Picture a Travel Inn room thats seen better days and you have it. The decor is very bland and not a bit Turkish. Theres just enough room for 2 people but I would not advise trying to get an extra bed or cot in as you'll be really cramped. There not much storage for your clothes and the drawers and cupboard doors tend to fall off. The bathroom was OK, but the shower was a bit tempremantal. We had a nice balcony with a pool/sea view and the mini bar (free) was stocked with beer and soft drinks every day. The sheets and towel were changed every 2 days and the standard of cleaning was very high.
It was very hot when we were there so we had the Air Con on 24 hours. It was very good but noisy. I believe if your in the Village area you can only have your air con on when your in the room.
We found rhe checkin/ reception staff quite unhelpful. Some of them speak English but if you've got any German youre in luck as they all seem to speak German.
We checked in at 2 in the morning and found that theyd put our party of 8 on 2 different floors. 2 rooms on the 1st floor and 2 on the 5th. They werent interested in moving us. There were vague offers of "maybe in a few days" but we couldnt be bothered unpacking and repacking so stayed put. That was typical of the attitude of most of the staff. If there was a problem it was our problem not theirs.
The Selin was right on the beach, which is fabulous, and it has a very nice pool. Its kept very clean and there were plenty of toilets nearby which were well looked after. The loungers started to go at about 5.30 but I'm an early riser so I joined in at about 6 and we always got some. They were all gone by about 8 but you only had to go onto the beach where there were loads, all with shade.
Didnt spend much time at the other hotel's pools but they looked busier - more young children. Ours was relatively peaceful. The water park looked great fun although busy if you wanted a lounger. Nothing's much of a walk so you could base yourself at a hotel pool and wander over to the flume area in a few minutes walk.
Each of the pool areas had an animation team and the Selin's was magnificent. They really made our kids holiday special. There were pool games, archery, shooting etc on all day and they made a big effort to give the kids a good time. There was a group of about 20 teenagers around our pool most days who had a ball together. Mostly German speakers but the animators all spoke English.
Each hotel has its own restaurant plus poolside snack bars. You can eat anywhere if youre in the Selin but I dont think the other hotels could use the Selin restaurant at night. Selin guests had a different coloured armband.
Incidentally the long trouser rule for men in the Selin at dinner and also in the speciality restaurants was being enforced.
I found the food boring and repetitve although it was fresh and well cooked.
At breakfast I enjoyed the squeeze your own orange juice machine and the croisants and fruit but the cooked stuff was a bit German for me.
The pool bars were nice for lunch as you didnt have to get dressed or cover up and they did stuff like pizza, kebabs and salad.
The dinner buffets were OK. After a few days they got a bit boring. Loads of nice salads, some lamb, lots of veal. Very little fish. The kids loved it though. They were happy with the pizza chips, pasta etc.
The speciality restaurants were VERY good but hard to get into. We were allowed one per week. We got the Italian and the Fish one and also managed to blag our way into the chinese, but werent allowed the Turkish. This was despite looking in to the Turkish and finding it half empty most nights. When we enquired we were told we couldnt go even if there was space as those were "the rules". They had a lot of rules.
The service was good in the speciality restaurants but pretty poor in the buffet ones. I think the staff in these are younger or have had no training. Its help yourself drinks in the Village restaurant but waiter service in the Selin and its dire. They hadnt a clue.
The AI drink was brill. As much as you like and good quality. They dont know how to make cocktails however. You need to give them instructions but they'll have a go. The kids found the soft drinks flowed freely and I liked the cappachino at the pool bar. The Dragon bar on the beach was good for various beer and a bigger varity of wine, and the bar in the Selin was nice in the evening as it had live music and was cool and airy.
The evening shows were V cheesy but the kids liked them. Some bits in English. A lot of miming and men cross dressing but some good dancing.
What can I say about the Russians. What a rude bunch of people! It must be hell living in Russia if they're all like that.
They didnt bother us as we gave as good as we got but you wouldnt want to be sensitive. I found some of the Germans a bit aggressive but most of them will speak or smile if you speak to them.
A typical example of the Russians - 2 of us were waiting for the lift to go from the basement (beach) to the 1st floor. When the lift (takes 6) arrived, a russian woman and child pushed past us to get into it, not allowing the person already in it to get out.
We waited till the person squeezed out then got it in front of the russians. They had pressed the button to got to the ground floor, we pressed for the 1st. When the lift got to the ground floor, I started to move aside to let them out, but not content to wait, they started to push past me. Needless to say i moved back in front of them and oh dear, the doors closed. They then had to go to the 1st floor where we got out and they were shouting and ranting at us in Russian. As a parting shot I pressed the button for the 6th floor so they had a wee tour of the building before they were done. Petty? Maybe but they were so rude all the time.
One of the things I didnt like was there was no guest laundry. They will do your laundry for you but at a price. They wont even lend you an iron to take the creases out your packing.
Another negative was that you only get one key to your room. Our 2 kids found it a problem as one stayed out very late. The reception wouldnt budge although eventually they offered us a second key for 50 euros. The solution was to go to reception and get the bell hop to let you in your room but this obviously takes time.
The JMC rep was a nice guy but hopeless at representing the guests. Just quoted the hotel rules.
We asked for a late check out room a few days before leaving but they wouldnt say until 10 on the morning of departure. We did get one in the end (35 euros in cash) I suspect this goes in the receptionists pocket as they refused to give us a receipt.
There were plenty tennis courts if you could stand the heat but dont be fooled by the lovely football pitches you can see on the hotel website. They are not for guests (the rules!) They seem to keep them for visiting football teams.
We booked excursions from one of the shops in the village - 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Quite cheap and very impressed. We did the jeep safari and the white water rafting. Brilliant. Thers also a market 10 minutes walk (east) along the beach. OK if you like markets, which I dont.
Dont expect 5 star standards despite what the brochures say. This could be a fabulous place if they could get their management and customer sevice right. As it is its pretty good but I wouldnt go back. I've been to better hotels in Turkey for the same money.

We stayed in the holiday village of Kamelya world.
Overall, I could not fault this place-it really is like Disney Land, so kids love it!
Hotel cleanliness was excellent, the maids come to your apartment every day to change bed linen, clean the bathroom etc. If you do not want them to clean because you are sleeping in, even if you keep the "do not disturb" sign on the door until half five for example, you'll find they will be back at six in the evening to clean your room! The mini-bar is filled every day with beer, coke, fanta, water and sparkling water. We were so impressed with the maids services that we tipped them at the end of our holiday.
Hotel food was very well varied, although if you like the spicier ranges of food you may find it a bit of a struggle!
They try the best they can to change some of the food available to you every night.
One thing we would all recommend is definately going to the Turkish and Chinese restaurants. Make sure you book these though as soon as you arrive, because you will find hardly any space available. There is an Italian and Fish bar also, but we found the Italian to be very similar to the buffet we were eating every night.
We didn't fancy the fish bar. But what was so nice about the Chinese restaurant was the change, that we could order off of a menu instead of buffet food. Excellent!
Hotel location is fairly resonable. If you want to go to Side or Mungavat market you will need to take a taxi or bus. We opted for a taxi, which will cost you around 10Euros each way.
Hotel staff are fantastic. I had a problem with my alarm in my apartment (simply the batteries), we phoned reception and they were there within 10minutes.
Waiters and barmen are excellent, always there to help.
Entertainment was fantastic for adults and children together. One show I would definately recommend would be Grease. Very good performances.
The only thing I would say about the entertainment would be you can't actually sit down and have a drink and watch the show. The shows are set in a ampitheatre, so adults, unless you take your drinks from the mini-bar cannot sit and enjoy the sow with a drink!
Definatley go bowling, not very expensive at all-good fun.

A typical example of the them - 2 of us were waiting for the lift to go from the basement (beach) to the 1st floor. When the lift (takes 6) arrived, a woman and child pushed past us to get into it, not allowing the person already in it to get out.
We waited till the person squeezed out then got it in front of the them. They had pressed the button to got to the ground floor, we pressed for the 1st. When the lift got to the ground floor, I started to move aside to let them out, but not content to wait, they started to push past me. Needless to say I moved back in front of them and oh dear, the doors closed. They then had to go to the 1st floor where we got out and they were shouting and ranting at us in their language.

The complex is superb, very clean and well maintained. Lots of pools, with a private beach, sunbeds are plentiful , both beside the pool and on the beach. The pools all have kiddie sections, they are huge and beautifully clean. A couple of large jacuzzi's, a pool bar, but you sometimes need to shout on the barman.
The rooms are cleaned daily, and I could not fault any of the staff, they are all friendly, very polite and helpful.
The rooms are a good size, we were in 4bed rooms, plenty space for clothes, tv with a couple of English channels, minibar restocked daily, and a great shower room.
The bars are everywhere, with pool snacks served about 3 hourly, the Nazar bar has late food from 1.30.
The food is plentiful, well presented, and the restaurants are spotless with lots of helpful staff. If you need something , just ask and you will get it.
The entertainment is of the singing, dancing variety...not a lot in English, but good all the same. There is lots of pool games and a miniclub for the kiddies..the staff go round the complex at various times gathering up all the kiddies.
I loved this holiday, and will definetly go again, in Aug or September this year!!
