The resort was very clean never saw a piece of litter anywhere.there was entertainment every night at different parts of the complex & different events in the day. The hotel was next to the beach soft sand & again very clean. We would visit again.

Small quiet resort with a few shops but quite easy to get a bus or taxi to side outside the hotel

The Germans dominate Side. Take Euro's, not Lira. The Germans don't barter so hence the local shops don't come down very low. Save your rip off shopping for the various markets where you can get a good deal on your "genuine" Lacoste or Polo shirts.
The ancient ruins in Antique Side are worth a look. Dolmus' are the best value and all the taxis have pre agreed fares, about 7 Euros from Melas to the Otogar.
But, if you want my advice, pay more and go to Egypt.

The Entertainment was the best i have ever seen in a hotel. The staff were always kind, but not kind in the way that they were just doing it for a tip, they were generally nice people, i have been to many different hotels, and this is definetly the best!

Our fourth visit to Side in 23 months - yes we love it!!
Beach is very very clean, apart from by the Sunrise Queen...there it is noticably grubby.
Sea is very warm in July, although very cold in October/November.
People are amazingly friendly.
The new Promenade is great, although it has virtually destroyed business for the bars along the Kumkoy road. Our favourite, Linda Bar, was very quiet at the beginning of the holiday, and already some bars and shops have closed down there. It is very quiet compared to previous years, and felt quite sad up there. I would say that by next year most of those bars will not be there. Linda bar was still great (thanks Savas for being a hilarious host!!), and unlike the Golden Fizz had not put up prices...drinks were very cheap there, whereas in the GF my daughter ran out of money (25lira) after only two drinks. Linda bar definitely the frienlist in Side, all staff are wonderful.
However, bars along the beach are good. Enjoyed Alremu the best.
Also it was easier to walk into Side. We liked the Royal Castle pub, for a great atmosphere, live music, and the most delicious (but expensive) cocktails.
All in all, great resort, obviously we will be back (hopefully next year).

Side is a lovely place, the beach is clean and the sea is nice, lovely new promanade to walk along to centre of side.

We stayed in Side, whic is lovely and clean and there is a Market there on a Saturday,
the resort is easy to get arround with the little white hop on and off buses at 3 lira each
