The best rooms are on the 6th floor, lots of restaurant around hotel, sea just around the corner.

Don't be fooled by the hotel being 4* and don't go all inclusive.

Side resort is a quiet resort for those that are not into clubs and loud nightlife, which is the main reason we love it. There are plenty of friendly bars but no rowdy revellers! Our hotel had a private beach which means you are not hassled by any locals selling trinkets and you can relax totally.
The main town is vibrant and busy during the evenings and can be reached by a long promenade path that has recently been constructed along the beach behind the hotels.

Usual touristy resort. Shops good, fake designer gear brilliant. ruins galore for history buffs.
Try the market in Manavgat.

We love Side and have been there 3 times about to return again. No name beach is lovely with no hassle and on the whole very clean, each morning we saw the guys cleaning up, and most of the rubbish is only due to lazy holiday makers! We also regualarly saw the litter on the streets and rubbish being collected.
I see people reporting the locals do not speak much English have they ever thought of trying to speak the local language, after all you are in their home country, even trying a little goes a long way with them. Each time we go we are remembered which is lovely and always get a warm welcome. We have observed a lot of rudeness to the local people who are, after all just trying to make a living, a smile and polite refusal does not hurt anyone, at times I cringe how rude people can be! We have certainly never experienced any aggression. The ruins are delightful especially the Temples, one of our favourite places to sit, relax and contemplate. The museum is worth a visit, where a lot of time and patience has been taken and you can be amazed at the antiquities, I hope the work continues so the history can be preserved. I agree that 'you are German' seems to be the natural assumption but probably because in the majority the tourists are German. We feel quite safe in Side, happy to walk through the street alone and together late at night (and we are 2 women!). There is currently a lot of work going on in Side and I hope it only improves a fabulous resort. The only criticsim I do have that since last year the all inclusive resorts have crept in further and is damaging business for the small restuarants and bars, not a good move lets hope this trend will not continue, after all who really wants to eat in the same place every night, we like to eat somewhere different most nights, which whilst supporting the small businesses we get a variety also which I might add on the whole the food in Side is also great. - you may even like to try the local cuisine rather than the good old british favourites of chips and tomatoe sauce with everything!!!!

lots of building work going on, but as we visited in January this was not a problem

The resort was pretty quiet, not much to do apart from Shop, Eat and go on a boat trip. a Few ruins to visit.
This is mainly a German populated resort and as such the prices are higher as most things are priced in Euro.

there resort is very clean. Enterainment was ok, but mainly spoke in german. Typical foreign entertainment though. Side very picture perfect, harbour very nice. Beach was about a 3min walk from your pool, which was great. also bar on beach which meant your all inclusive was on beach also. I would definately recommend this resort and hotel excellent. only thing i would change is the fact that they need to understand and use english terminology to interact more with the british people

The resort of Side is lovely - lots of ancient monuments etc. I cannot comment on the entertainment as I don't go there very often. There are some nice shops but you get quite a lot of hassle. The beaches in Side (there are 2 of them) are some of the best in Turkey - complete sandy beaches,
and the sea is lovely too.

The resort of Colakli is fairly quiet with a handful of bars and restaurants all of which were pleasant enough although outnumbered 2 to 1 by the shops selling fake clothes.
The resort of Kumkoy is a 10 minute dolmus ride where you will find numerous bars and restaurants and shop after shop which mostly tend to sell the same things although there are bargains a plenty if you haggle.
