We have been to Bitez 4 times (have also stayed in Kusadasi, Cesme, Illica and Alanya). Bitez is the resort we keep returning to. It is peaceful but if you want wilder night life,Gumbet and Bodrum are easily accessible. Having said that, we have only visited in May, June and September. It would probably be livlier in high season. All in all Bitez is a lovely place but maybe not for teens/twenties.

We went to Bitez and had a lovely holiday.
If you want a big nightlife then clearly this is not the place for you, but for a chilled holiday with scores of restaurants to chose from you could not ask for more.
Meals out were fabulous and all the sunloungers, cushions & beanbags made both days and evenings relaxing on the beach with a cocktail in your hand just to die for.
There is not room to do anything but sunbathe on the beach as it is absolutely packed with loungers - for us this was fabbo but others esp with children in tow may be put off?
We particularly loved the LimonTree which seems to be a new venture with a terrific set price menu which could not have been cooked better by Raymond Blanc!
I would rather reccommend avoiding Divan though as we found some of the waiters to be rather threatening, they clearly thought they were being funny and entertaining but it did not come across that way and made my wife very uncomfortable.
BBC (bitez boat cruises) was the best way to have days out as they are the only company which leaves directly from Bitez and saves a coach trip into Bodrum.
There is a small hotel next to OzzysPlace (amazing traditional food) called Yeli Han which has a pretty bar by the beach which is quiet but so charming for the evening.
A day trip to Kos is such a must, it is stunning and so traditional and picturesque, we wished we had booked a couple of nights there so we could have made more of our time upon that stunning island.
Oh I'm wishing I was back there right now!
So long, Bitez, holiday of dreams!

Looked for a quiet, relaxing 2 weeks and Bitez was perfect, allowing easy trips to Bodrum and other areas of the Bodrum Peninsula as and when required on the Dolmus services.
There are plenty of restaurants to enable visitors to eat somewhere different over a 2 week stay. Restaurants on the beachfront pricing their menus a little higher as you would expect.
Apart from eating at the Sirca, we ate at the New Season [very good], Golden Plate [reasonable, but nothing amazing], Hong Kong [in Bodrum, we fancied a chinese, and it was excellent], and lastly at Vona [which we felt was the best meal eaten away from our Apartments]. There are more restaurants off the beach, to the back of the Mosque and to the rear of Vona/ Adali which appear to be reasonable.
The beach is narrow, and sunloungers are laid out by the bars/ restaurants fronting the beach. They are free to use, although the bars staff check whether drinks or snacks are wanted regularly without making you feel compelled to buy. The beach is quite stoney/ rocky into the sea, but doesnt pose too much of a problem, the water is clear and Bitez does have a EU Blue Flag award.
Hassle was minimal this year in Turkey, whether that be in Bitez or Bodrum, much less than my previous visits to Turkey.
All in all, Bitez offers a great base to enjoy a relaxing holiday, with the liveliness of Bodrum or Gumbet only a short taxi/ dolmus ride away.

Bitez was ideal for families with Sept being about the right time of year to go for those with younger children. The water was warm and clean and if you are spending a day at the beach we can recommend "The Bambu", they looked after us during the day (thanks Tiger)and their prices for food and drinks very good. The Bitez Boat Cruise is also great value and a must. Also, the water park was great fun.

Restaurants not to miss are Perdesa and Daphne's. Both up on the main road behind the mosque. Perdesa does the best food at superb value. Daphne's is quite a find- gorgeous garden setiing and wonderful food- a bit different from the standard menus and delicious- the steak literally melted in the mouth....do try it! Beach restaurants seemd much more expensive this year and meals were fine but menus a bit repetitive. We suggest eating away from the beach and then going for coffee and drinks afetrwards on the beach.

Bitez is a very friendly resort with something for everyone, but if it's late bars and disco's then this is not the place for you. The restaurants are excellent, beware on the beach front though cos they are double the price of the one's in the side streets. Lavas, just up from the mosque, is the best place to eat anywhere in Turkey. The staff cannot do enough for you, the food is top class and half the price of the beach eateries. Although I've given a 5 for resort entertainment, it was perfect for us but will be too quiet for some.

This was our 4th time to Bitez and just love it. Thankfully the development in the area around the bay seems to be somewhat controlled. We love the beach in Bitez while man made has everything we want - comfortable
sun loungers (free of charge), good restaurants and enough shops to pick up the holiday bits and pieces if you want to. Bitez also has the all important chemist on the beach front for treatment for the odd bite or other minor ailments.
You can get to Gumbet or Bodrum easily by Dolmus and they run very regularly and roughly it costs less than a euro each way. We found the drivers of the dolmus very helpful and found the dolmus a great way to get around.
We ate in Bitez every night - our top three and to be honest each as good as the other are Seashells (best meze) on sea front past the mosque, One Season on sea front and restaurant in Queen Apartments (on road up from
soccer pitch/harbour). We really dont think you will be disappointed with any of them.
We took our boat trip (twice) with Liz & Ahmet - again a great day out - only eight on the boat and it is a lovely break away from the beach. I am not a confident swimmer but was given an option of using a life jacket and into the sea I went (with my life jacket) in one of the shallow bays that we pulled into - it was great - first time doing this and loved it.
There are loads of things to do while in the Bodrum area - visit the market, spend a few hours in Bodrum town itself, visit Bodrum castle, do a day trip to Kos, take a dolmus to another small sea side town close by, do a trip to one of the mountain villages, and of course the Turkish Bath - we had the best one yet so far this year in the Bronze Hotel in Gumbet - very professional and were so relaxed after it.
Gumbet is only five minutes away for the clubbing until 5 in the morning while most of the places in Bitez start closing down after midnight but you can still stay on and have a couple of drinks. There is also good night life in Bodrum if you want more of a variety. All in all Bitez is a great base - it has loads to offer itself and within a short distance has a lot more so should suit all tastes.
