Just got back from staying at the Aqua fantasy hotel which I have to say I was incredibly surprised after reading some of the comments on these pages!

I can honestly say I could not fault the hotel at all, we were a bit worried (and exhausted) after the 2 and a half hour transfer from the airport that we were going to be completely out in the sticks but our worries disappeared the 2nd we entered the reception in the hotel, we were placed in the world side which we were pleased about as we'd heard that the club side wasn't as nice, our room was spacious and clean but what surprised us the most was that it was incredibly modern and the beds were comfy.

After a brief nap we decided to explore our surroundings and were very happy with what we saw, there our various pools, the complex is huge and has something for everyone. The water park is a must for anyone who loves things like that, even we went on some stuff and we're non swimmers so fun was had by all.
The hotel staff were fantastic, extremely helpful and on the whole very polite.

Evening entertainment was brilliant, had a kids mini disco in the early evening and then from 9.45 it was the adults turn, saw many shows (cats, Mamma Mia, Shrek, Bombay nights etc..) the dancers were absolutely fantastic and were often seen training day and night to make sure the evening shows were perfect, the best thing for us were the 2 main entertainment hosts (Gem and Millie) who were bloody fantastic and made us laugh like crazy also the Turkish club dance song is very catchy and you'll find yourself singing that at the most inconvenient times like when you're trying to get to sleep!

Beach wasn't all that, sand a bit rough and sea dirty but was expecting that so not disappointed really.

The only negative thing I could say about this place is that they should have some public payphones in and around the hotel as it's a pain having to go into town to use the payphones!

All in all the hotel was the best I

Aqua fantasy was fantastic, by far the best holiday I have had. the hotel was such a surprise as we had read bad reports on it.

We stayed in the world side and it was definitely the nicest side.

Food had a great variety and we had something different every night.

The hotel was kept very clean and the rooms are very spacious.

The location, I thought, was not bad as it was only ten minutes on the bus to Kusadasi town.

The staff were fantastic, really lovely people, we made many friends.

Entertainment was good, the beach party was excellent absolutely loved it. had a good dance round the fire and great fireworks.

We both enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be coming back.

We alwasy book all-inclusive so as to make sure we don't have to mess about looking for somewhere to eat, and to be sure that the kids don't bleed us dry with constant requests for food/drinks.

With that in mind I have to say that the all inclusive arrangements at the Aqua Fantasy were terrible, simply the worst I have ever encountered anywhere over the last 10 years.

The difference between my 1st Choice holiday last year to Egypt (Coral Sea in Sharm), could not have been more pronounced, I'd go back there in an instant, but I'll not be back to Aqua Fantasy.

- Drinks were served in the tiniest glasses and measures at the upstairs bar in the club side.

- The bars commonly run out of just about everything, on day one the poolside bar ran out of everything but sprite. The upstairs bar on the club side ran out of most of the spirits and ice on a number of occasions. No effort was made to rectify the shortages, once they ran out - that was it until the next day.

- The food was not very appealing: boring, repetitive, and catering to the tastes of the Dutch who comprise by far the biggest majority of guests. Breakfast especially was an issue with my kids surviving on pancakes. The best thing on the menu was usually the tomato soup!

- Glasses were in short supply, and often dirty.

- The only bar within a short distance of the entertainment area closed at 6, well before the entertainment, leaving a long, hot trek to the beach bar for the usual piddly measures. Or trying to squeeze into the balcony of the upstairs bar for a snatched view of the entertainment. It really seemed the management didn't want to make it easy for guests to use the all inclusive drinks service.

- The entertainment was Ok but a little boring :- the usual dance troupe and backing music.

- The daytime snacks at the poolside were good, but limited - burgers, hotdogs and pizza at lunch everyday. The pizza was the best, and hence had the longest queue!

- We arrived tired and hungry after a long flight and transfer (2 Hr transfer), to find only 2 check in staff for a whole coach load of new arrivals. No drinks were ready for us as there have been in every other AI hotel I've been to.

- The hotel is split in 2 areas, club and world. You check in on world side and we had to find our rooms on club side (a fairly long walk). There are NO maps or diagrams of the hotel anywhere, and the signs are not good. We were given no information about how to find our rooms except - its over the other side of the car park.

- The AI drinks stop at 11. Anything later is paid for.
Following check in and finding our room we needed a drink, and had to pay for it, not the best start for a holiday at an AI resort.

- First Choice reps were never spotted on club side (where we were) and seemed to hide on the world side. Useful info about pick up times etc was only available at the 1st choice office worldside, not repeated on the info area clubside.

- The hotel was fully booked, and late checkout was not possible for us, leaving us to check out at 12 and with 4 children to amuse until 3:45 pickup with no way to get changed, so continuing to use the pool was out. Thus taking a shine off the last day.

Now most of the bad stuff is out of the way there is room for some praise:

The rooms were fine, and well set out in small blocks (club side - world side were taller and more squeezed in). Towels were changed daily, and rooms tidied though our floor was cleaned once in a week.

Aquapark
- The waterpark facilities were good, and never too busy, we never had to queue too long for any of the rides, although it did take some effort to find a ring at busy periods...

However there were a few things that could have been better at the aquapark:

- The time to get a drink at the park was often very long - 30 mins on 1 occasion. There was often only 1 barman on the bar serving both the swim up bar and the dry side, even when it was busy. (paid for - no AI here, even though its owned by the same people as the hotel)

- The tiles everywhere were lethally slippery when wet, especially in the WC by the food area - polished marble circular stairs, followed by glass smooth tiles and wet feet don't mix well. I saw a guest taken out in a full body stretcher with neck brace from this area, so BE CAREFUL!

- The paying locals were let into the park first, before the hotel guests, this meant all the best spots went to the locals first as the hotel to park entrance is on the furthest point from the best lounger areas.

The bottom line is that I consider the holiday to have been overpriced for what we got, and I wont be returning. This is a shame because some changes to the management and AI setup would make all the difference.

After changing from the Tusan Beach Hotel, we were very pleased with the first impressions of the Aqua Fantasy.

We stayed in a Family Room which was very spacious, next to the main pool on the "Club" side.

Food was not great but we always found something.

Reception staff were helpful as were the Bar Staff. Animation Team were very friendly.

Entertainment was mainly a Professional Dance Team which was good but a bit too dramatic, for my liking.

I found that the Hotel had lots of extras, that you could end up spending alot of money, which defeats the object of All Inclusive.

The Bars closed at 11.00pm and that is when alot of events started.

Waterpark is very good and you have free entry during your stay.

All in all, the money it cost to change from the Tusan Beach, was well worth it. We would go back to Aqua Fantasy.

First given a room only to find the view was a tree, as when we booked was told of a garden view then moved next day only to find the air conditioning not working. Partner rang reception 7 times within 12 hours no one cameI went to reception and kicked up a fuss as had a 9 month old baby and a 5 yr old.

Food was disgusting no thought had gone into British visiting children. My 5yr old ate biscuits every morning and my baby did too! There was a lot of Dutch there and they all tried pushing in all the time.

The entertainment was on late for the kids as well 9.30pm. The drinks came in plastic beakers and not even filled up the queues were a nightmare!

The swimming pools and the aqua park were the best bit of all I wont be going back there at all but would definitely go back to Kusadasi they are really friendly we ate out of the complex for the last week as the thought of eating there made us all sick.

Was a bit disappointed with the room as had paid extra for a junior suite only to find the room a bit on the small side however after a few hours sleep was feeling a bit better and never bothered to complain as had a great view of the water park and the room was in an ideal position.

There are 2 pools at the aqua fantasy club side and 2 at the world site and every one is fantastic, you also have full use of the water park and the slides are brill, there is also an area designed for younger kids which is ideal.
We favoured the flamingo pool near our room which was a bit quieter than the others.

Was a bit worried about the food after reading other reviews but pleasantly surprised, have been to Turkey before so knew what to expect. My children are aged 8 years and 4 years and never once had a problem with them finding anything to eat and both are really fussy eaters.

There was a selection of cereals at breakfast, plenty of breads and jams, croissants and sweet pastries and fresh fruit also boiled/scrambled eggs so we where never stuck, usually had lunch at the snack bar pizza's brill, there is also Turkish pizza and traditional cookies.

Entertainment was OK, kids club ran by first choice was excellent and sometimes the kids away 3 times a day they really enjoyed it, this was a surprise as had read that there was only a hotel run club for the dutch kids, the kids reps where really good. Drinks quite small and did come in plastic glasses however never really had a problem with waiting in a queue. A few times we ate at the restaurant at the world side for a change and the food was lovely also kept saying we would book into a la carte but never got round to it.

Went into Kusadasi a few times plenty of places to eat and have a drink and the Wednesday market was an experience, once you get to the bus stop just outside the hotel there is a guy who radios the bus driver and arranges you seats on the bus so found this really easy, we also got a taxi back after visiting the market and this was only 10 euros.

The beach was really not the best but had knew this before we went so not too disappointed, there is a beach bar right on the beach and we went a few times to have a drink and watch the sun set into the sea really beautiful.

There is a small shop on site but overpriced you also have to pay for minibar in your room, if you use this it will cost you 1.5 lire for a small bottle of water, 3 lire for can soft drink, 5 lire for can efes, we stocked up in Kusadasi and just used the fridge to chill our drinks.

I did have a bit of a dodgy tummy for the best part of the second week however the rest of my family all fine and all eating the same things so I think I was just unlucky but this did not spoil my holiday in any way and would definitely go back.

The hotel advertises itself as a 5 star, the reception areas at both hotels are really lovely however the rooms are not 5 star probably only 3 star.

We stayed at the "Club" side of the complex, the "World" side had just opened on 1st July. The only down side to this was that we had to go across the world side each time we wanted Reception or the First Choice Rep.

Guests can access both sids of the complex, we preferred to stay around the main pool at the Club side near the Caribbean Bar as this was where all the daily activities were.

We had a standard room which was adequate, comfy, and cleaned each day. We only had the bed sheets changed once per week, but the towels were changed each day. One odd thing was that each day the maid would knock on the door and ask how many people were staying in the room ??

In general the hotel was excellent, we didn't see our son for most of the 2 weeks, he spent it in the water park, or on the free pedaloes and canoes on the beach, or fishing off the jetty (which collapsed on our last day).

There are a lot of Dutch here, but we didn't see this as a problem. We joined in a lot of the activities and got on well with them all.

We did find the evening entertainment a little tedious after the first week, all the shows were dance shows (by the Russians)and the bar nearest the stage closed at 6pm. We spent most evenings on the balcony or down at the beach bar watching the amazing sunsets.

The only down side was that drinks are served in small plastic cups, which they kept running out of, and they aren't properly washed when re-used. All the bars shut at 11pm then you have to use your "splash" card to buy drinks.

We were a little dubious about the food after reading previous reports on here, but we found it to be of a high standard with plenty of choice. They do tend to cater more for the Europeans but there was something for all of us to eat.

The entertainment team were all great and couldn't do enough for you. Melle runs a good team and gets everybody involved.(Buy your bingo tickets and show CD from Murat, he's getting married to an English girl soon and needs the money !).

The hotel runs a shuttle bus to Kusadasi twice each morning, but it is cheaper to catch a Dolmus, and it didn't turn up for us one morning. Walk to the end of the drive and see the man in the hat who will radio a Dolmus if one isn't already waiting. It only costs 2 lira each.

A trip to Ephesus is a must, takes 10 mins on a Dolmus and costs 10 lira to get in.

We had a great holiday at Aqua Fantasy as everything you could possibly want to do on holiday is here. we've booked to go again same time next year, along with another family we met, which will be their 3rd visit.

There were 3 generations in our party. From the moment we arrived we had a great time.

The hotel and our room were extremely clean. Anything that we wanted was arranged by reception and delivered or rectified without a problem.

The all inclusive was fabulous for us and the kids. The hotel food was out of this world. Having said this we like lots of fresh fish shell fish etc, not to mention that most of like vegetarian food. It felt like we were in paradise with all this fresh produce to eat. You could also get burgers and pizzas at the pool bars for those who wanted it. The a la cart restaurants were brilliant and at little extra cost. We had read the reviews about the food before we went on the holiday and they were not very good. However, we knew that this meant that we would love the food. Not to put to fine a point on it but we don
