Turgutreis benefits from not being as big as Bodrum, Marmaris etc. It is a small friendly resort, the locals can't do enough for you.
Entertainment - there are plenty of bars and restaurants. There may be clubs there but we did not notice any (although if there are any I'm sure the youngsters would find them).

we have visited Turgutreis many times and it has almost become a second home. There is much less haasle here than other resorts and we have many friends who work and live in the town. We will be returning next year but I have become a little alarmed by some of the changes which are being proposed by the council on their website, ie the demolishing of the shopping area and its replacement by modern shops and buildings. I would be interested in views from othe turgutreis fans.

We only visited Turgetreis on a couple of occasions as we were all inclusive, yet always found it clean and tidy.
There were a variety of bars and restaurants which were reasonably priced. The market on Saturday is well worth a visit.

If you visit Turgetris the market is on Saturday and either go very early or go late afternoon for the real bargains.
Visit Uncles restaurant for a great meal and English speaking staff.

The resort of turgetreis was luvly. It could be as loyd or as quiet as you wanted it to be. The beaches were perfect and there was only one problem. When you are going out for a meal, all the people who own the restaurant want you to come into theres and they will stand and persuade you. Also if you want people to talk to you in english we would recommend wearing an england shirt or sum english teams shirt when you go out. This is such a fab place!

great resort with excellent bars, eating establishments, shops and lovely friendly people who do not hassle you like in other resorts in turkey. new marina built for the wealthy but still worth a look, you can also get the ferry there to kos for a day trip. down side is the resort has exploded in certain areas since our last visit, if they keep building hotels it will loose its fishing village charm.

As mentioned before i would not visit this resort again, yes its quiet which is what we were looking for and yes it was the end of the season but to be honest we were happy around the pool, they have a small market on a tuesday which is next to the club cherry and a big market on a saturday which is in the centre. We would try somewhere else next time.

Turgutreis itself is a pleasant enough place, plenty of restaurants, both typical tourist places and small local Turkish restaurants A meal and a couple of drinks would cost between £6-£10 per person (at exchange rate of 2.30 YTL-£1.00).
Meals were generally good – from adequate to excellent - always plenty in terms of quantity. Beer was about £1.00-1.50 a half litre, imports like Martini etc were about £2.50 Although there was the typical Turkish hassle of lads trying to entice you into their eateries it was not as insistent as other parts of Turkey that we have visited.
As always the Turkish peoples pleasant and hospitable nature made any hassle tolerable. There are some of the inevitable pubs offering English Sunday roast and football, Coronation Street , Emmerdale etc on TV but they were in the minority.
I believe that there are a few bars in the vicinity of the Mandalici hotel which had music till the small hours but most places seemed to close in the late evening as customers drifted away. Of course it was the end of the season when we were there, it might not have been the same in the height of summer.
Located at the western edge of the Bodrum peninsula, transport from the airport by the tour operators was pedantic, we were last to be dropped off on arrival and first to be picked for departure.
For this reason organised sightseeing trips by major tour operators should be avoided – we were picked up for our return flight at 02.20 hours for a flight scheduled for 07.00 – Bodrum airport is only about 35 kms from Turgutreis.
A trip to Kos on the ferry costs about £12 return, it’s a pleasant trip and minimal hassle with customs etc. There is a big market in Turgutreis every Saturday, people come from all over the Bodrum peninsula and from the neighbouring Greek islands either to sell their wares or searching for bargains, the place is a bit chaotic then but returns to normal about 18.00-19-00.
