The resort is small with not much beach to speak of. However the people are very friendly and the town does have plenty of good quality restaurants. The saturday market is huge with the usual bargains to be had.

Lovely resort. Small and compact but everything you need for a lovely holiday. Nutters bar has to be the number one bar for the sea view position, good food and great entertainment. Uncles bar does a good Chicken Kebab Wrap take away for £1 and an excellent english breakfast.

We found the hotel to be placed in quite a good position as it was only a short walk into Turgetreis, where there was plenty of night life if you wanted it.

Turgutries is a lovely town, a family orientated resort and a nice place to go shopping, especially the market on a Saturday
The trampoline man is a really nice guy, and the kids love going on the trampolines.
There is a camel in the town, and it is 10 lira per person, so well worth it if you want to ride a camel, and it is well treated.
We took a day trip to Kos, and if you smoke (which i dont) you can but 200 english cigarettes for 10 euro, they will sell you 6 cartons each. This is from the port in Turgutries not in KOS. The day trip was great, and you can actually get some bacon there if you start to crave it.

Great resort for a peaceful holiday in the sun. Thankfully not yet discovered by the yobs making it a great family resort. Great selection of bars and shops. This is a working Turkish town with the most friendly people you could ever meet.
Best restaurant in town is undoubtedly The Ivy on Bar Street. Newly opened this year the food is amazing, service is excellent and half the price of all the other restaurants. Ask Erdal for a Mike's special, and tell him we sent you. You MUST go there!! Paddy's Bar next door is great for a quiet and friendly drink. The owners love to mix with you and get to know you. The Turks have uncanny photographic memories for faces, beware!
Can't wait to go back.

Right outside the hotel is Turgutreis Tours, we hired a car off him (a Nissan Micra) & it was the best vehicle we have ever hired abroad, hubby is usually very disappointed with the crap they hire out, but was very pleased with this £24 (+ £3 extra for windscreen, tyres & lights cover). Good exchange rate. We also went to a Turkish bath with them, only £7 for the bath including pick up & return, but the oil massage was £22 for 30 minutes after. So £29 all in all. BUT it was a great Turkish bath, huge, so clean we were given covers for our shoes to enter the building, fantastic fresh orange juice served after & some kind of lemon drink before. Best Turkish bath ever, it was near Ortakent (I think) & called Rashid’s.

Turgutreis is a happy resort.Full with bars and shops, all arranged in a higgledy piggledy way. It holds the Largest market in the Bordrum area on Saturdays. The good thing about staying in a hotel so close to the market you can take all your shopping back to the hotel and then go back in for round two!
The locals will try to get you to have a drink at their bars. Give these guys a moment to tell you about their menus, its only polite.Or just smile and say "maybe later..thank you" The Turks are lovely, give them a chance. We stopped at the kings Table in '06 for a drink,we went again this year and they recognised us straight away. Lovely lovely bunch.
