We stayed at the Art Marmaris which is at the Icmelor end of Marmaris and situated on the beach but separated by a narrow promenade. The hotel was first class in cleanliness.
The staff were superb, very friendly and run their feet off all day long.
The food was plentiful and varied and the chef was on hand to help even at breakfast. We only had one evening meal there as it was expensive but the selection was very good.
The entertainment was a bit basic.
However, we will not stay there again for one main reason -the noise from the loudspeakers around the hotel pool which spilled out onto the beach and bathing platform.
It started at breakfast time, not too loud but carried on all day quite loud until about 6pm when it stopped for an hour. At around 7pm it re-started until about midnight. There was no getting away from it and it drove us mad. We were unable to sit on the beach because of the racket and during the day other cafe's nearby added their noise too at sporadic intervals. We did ask for it to be turned off several times but to no avail. Such a shame because it really negated all the positive things about Art Marmaris.
The other niggle was that all drinks and food taken on the beach and bathing platform had to be be purchased from the hotel, including water which was pricey in comparison to shops.
The fitness centre is very basic and not really what was expected.

The Art Marmaris was a really nice family hotel. In Turkey you expect things to be a little less clean than at home, however, I can honestly say that this hotel was the cleanest I have stayed in Turkey, infact, I would say that it ranks among the highest I have stayed in for a long time.
The food was very "Turkish", but, there was always plenty of it, it was always hot and the Chef was always around to tell you what you were actually eating!!!!
We travelled with a party including two children, one of them being 8 months old, the staff at the Art Marmaris absolutely adored children and if anything, they were too friendly,... my little girl was quite often whisked away in her pram to be pushed up and down(always within sight of us).
The location of the Art Marmaris was brilliant, right outside there was a bus top that would take you to Old Town for 40p, or, to Ichmeler for 50p, each ride taking about 5-10 mins. If you wanted to stay local, situated out the back of the hotel was a lovely path that you could walk along next to the seafront, this proved a Godsend after the lovely evening meals.
