I know them flipflops are cheap but they always snap on me when I get home and I love wearing them
Where is the best place to by shoes Emelda huh huh sorry I mean Pam
This pic was taken at Ingos Market. I usually get them though from either the little shop just down from St Anthony's chapel by the supermarket or right in Calangute on the left hand side. Shop..I think it begins with an A...and always makes me laugh cos it sounds quite rude! I've never had them break on me! Even had them 'heeled' when I've got home!!!
Lizzy & Gemma, there are loads of breadmen doing the rounds in the tourist belt area..........don't tell me you've never heard the breadmans horn at 6.30am......lucky you!!! (sounds like a strangled duck)!! They ride around on bicycles with large round baskets strapped to the back and the bread and snacks you get from them are lovely, I love the egg patties...yummy!! My breadman is great, he sells the fresh milk in the poly bags and newspapers too. They also do the rounds at 6pm.
The fishman also does the rounds on his bike but you can tell the difference because his basket is square.
Goldenflipflop xx
Yes i have heard him. seen him many times, is his basket covered in blue plastic
and them flipflops don t last me 5 minutes the soles and heals dont even get worn, i must be buying them from the wrong place
Pam you mean ARSON FOOTWEAR on Calangute High St I think??
That's the one GFF!!! It just makes me smile when I see the name of the shop!!!!
Thanks GFF I will be looking out for one of them now! We normally stay at the Marinha Dourada never seen them there. But November we are in Candolim so sure we will get some yummy samosas
Looks like the first thing to do when we get there in November is shoe shopping!!! Wow it looks like shoe heaven to me. I don't care if they only last the holiday, saves me looking around for some to take with me.
I've bought LOADS of shoes from the little shop next to the Plantain Leaf in Calangute - not sure of the name of the shop but he has sacks full of shoes in every colour & size possible!
I've had some of them for four years, and I've bought them for other people so I can definitely recommend
Make a day of it. Get the local bus to the ferry, free ferry over, bit of shopping. Check out the best bars in Panjim on this web site for a spot of lunch in air condition restaurants.
good luck
Carved furniture, I can spend all day in a furniture shop, every year we buy a load, and have it shipped home, it takes about 3 months to arrive home, but we have never been let down YET, also it works out far cheaper than buying furniture in this country.
Ps Britannia Good Day cashew biscuits are great with a cup of tea
OK call me a cashewaholic if you like
No not a nut case
Freshly roasted cashew nuts mmm mmm
Yes, cashew nuts. Bought 1.5Kg for 500rp in Panjin.
Also bought 1/2 Kg of goan chillies and 1/5 Kg of kashmiri chillies for 120rp
I'm a Python fan, but I don't think the spam I've seen mentioned quite often here is the Spamalot type. Can someone tell me what it is please
did you post in the correct thread Nick?
