It seems that we will have to wait until people who go early season post their thoughts on here on their return.
However by then it will be too late to change.
its finger crossing time!!
I wonder if the pay seafood restaurant is going to be open, I was planning on eating there, grrrrrrrrr
yes i agree that doesn't look like a mirror image! We are being told that it is only the hotel pt and it's pool that are shut. As i have read you have been last year, we as a family were sold the holiday as a whole village open not half so we are most upset. On looking for alternative holiday's we could'nt find one that even compared for the kids ours are twins of 9 and a 5 year old.
You can be rest assured we like many others who booked last year and we have paid the balance in full, are all in a difficult dilema bloody FC have a lot to answer for. The reason they have given us is the bird flu has affected the amount of people traveling to Turkey, and they have only filled the both hotel to half so they decided to close PT and transfer all those booked in PT to the PP.
we are due to travel on the 8th may so we will be there just 7 days after it opens god knows what we will find, we are just going to make the most of it and half fun!

The Seafood restaurant in on the Tropical side! My wife has spoken to First Choice on the phone this morning and questioned the bit about the Tropical pool being covered as imo this is a big health and safety issue. She has been told it will be fenced off.
AAARRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHH! Everyone is being told something different!!!!!

Wasnt sure how to post the picture so here is the link. HOw does this compare against the picture that Katys Clan has posted? HHMM! It makes a bit of a difference doesnt it!
that was why we asked if it was going to be drained, if not it's an acciedent just waiting to happen
Even drained it is a health and safety issue! What if someone falls in to an empty pool! Cant see any other way other than it being fenced off!
We spent our time between the Tropical and Palace as they were different. There is definately an indoor pool at the Palace but I can't remember seeing one at the Tropical.
I think it depends on the age of your children if they will be happy there or not as ours ranged from 10 - 20 and they were all bored in the evening. The daytime was mostly fine with the pools but one of our friends children was bored in the day as well but did try paragliding from the beach which pleased him.
The small village is nice but there isn't much too do there apart from eat and a few shops and a market once a week. It would only take about 5 mins to walk the length of the street though.
I guess it depends what you want from a holiday but if you spend all day on a complex you may find you want to do something off site in the evening. It's OK for a week of relaxing I guess, but there is no way any of us would want to spend 2 weeks there especially with bored kids.
what are they playing at?????
i feel sorry for the guests that are going may/june that dont use this site, they will get there and will be wondering what the hell is going on!!!!!
We've recently been told that the occupancy has been reduced from a maximum of four to three people in your chosen room type. To safeguard your holiday we've moved quickly and switched your room type to a Family double room.
Of course I don't mind my room being made bigger, but want I don't like is being lied to. Its quite obvious to me that what they were doing was moving all the people in the Palace about as they knew then they weren't going to be opening the Tropical. That way they could move everyone from the tropical booked with, say two adults and one child, into a room at the palace.

i bet they do open the fish restaurant because you have to pay for that!
Hi - Did someone mention towels by the pool? Do you not have to take your own? Every year I have a half case of beach/pool towels to take on holida - so If they supply them all the better? Can you use any type of inflatables in the pool?
you can use any type of inflatable and yes they did have towels but dont know how easy it was to get them in peak season
Would advise you to take your own towels. When we were there in September we managed to get towels but sometimes people were having problems but alot of this was caused by the people who were coming along with pushchairs etc and taking loads away back to there rooms. Sad i know but it did happen. We used to sunbathe near the hut and the worst one was a woman who went away with about 14 towels. The other problem was the kids who used to jump out the pool run to the towels grab one dry themselves then dump it in the bin and then repeat the whole process an hour later. !
no they said they incurred charges moving us to the palace so it was the same so no charge or i would have been peaved
we were in the tropical
Thats good then because i was going to say they offered us a transfer to that one for no extra cost.
thanks for that
I have not been on this site for a while.
I went to the Pegasus Palace last year and despite all the negative reports on this site we had a thoroughly good time. My boys (aged 15 and 8 at the time) saud it was the best holiday they had ever had.
I have booked to go with our family and friends this year in October. We were originally due to stay in the tropical but were moved in january as the jacuzzi rooms are no longer considered large enough, this did confuse me as we have booked three rooms with three people in each.
Can anyone tell me if the tropical is due to be shut all year?
In response to a few comments I noticed (not read all of them as did not have time), yes we will still go. It may not be entiry acurate to say that the Hotels are a mirror image, but they do have the same facilities at both. We will be disappointed if the tropical is closed but I must say that we did only go over to the Tropical about 4 times during our 2 week stay. The only thing that the Tropical has that is not at the Palace is faster slides.
I would be disappointed if the Spa gardens and Fish restaurant etc were closed as these are shared facilities for both properties, I will be contacting First choice to check this out.
In summary, the palace on it's own is still a large village with lots to do and would be my prefered Hotel of the two.
Hope this helps and would appreciate any knowledge that anyone has on length of closure.
Angela, the tropical is due to open on 17th July, I'm unsure if they plan to keep it open til the end of the season though.
hi andelatsmith, i notice that you went in august last year so i just thought i would warn you that the pools are very cold in oct, also you might want to take a jacket for the evenings, hayley
