@@there is a indoor pool at the p/p by BTW@@ Sorry - you said there was a pool at the palace - where is it? what does BTW mean!! (Not used to all this text talk!!) Can't see on on the map in the brochure.
Thanks Topsey
BTW=By the way!
Have heard from someone that there is an indoor swimming pool at the Palace but i never saw it when i went last year so perhaps someone else who has been can confirm this!
wasnt there a swimming pool by the sauna and turkish bath? or am i thinking of another hotel
There definately was in the tropical but im not sure about the Palace!
And I don't think it had anything to do with the spirits, as the lack of choice left me on the coffee and water all night

There are 8 in our party a family of 5 and a family of 3.
Maybe the PT doesn't sleep 5 and thats why we were all moved who knows??
hi barnsleycrew, last year we booked two rooms as there was 7 of us, my eldest son and daughter had one room and we had the room next door wiht the 3 little ones. did you book as a party of eight or did you book as a party of five because they should'nt have booked you into the tropical if they knew there were five of you but they can sleep five at the palace. this year there are six of us going because my eldest is going away with friends but they have still given us one room but my youngest is a baby so maybe they hav'nt counted her.
We were advised by the travel rep taking our booking that it would be cheaper to book as two 4's which we did .
But she booked us into 2 family rooms - (4+1)
But it looks as though the PT doesn't cater for family rooms of 5 so thats why we were moved.
On another thread we originally booked at a small local First Choice shop - located in a supermarket but that shut down and our business has been transferred to a First Choice Hypermarket in Rotherham.
Has anyone had a reply to their email to First Choice?
There is definately an indoor pool at the palace, we passed it every day, not allowed to take inflatables in but like all the rules at the pp/pt, this was ignored, oh and the water was freezing!
I was advised that if there is any changes to bookings FC Systems update before anoncements are mades to the shops and they could see on their system that the PT was shut but they had not recieved notification of why or what would be happening with the facilities as of yet. They said that when changes are made to bookings new invoices are sent automaticaly and this would explain why there was no letter with the new invoice.
They kindly tried to telephone Customer Services but after holding for an hour and fifteen mins they said that they couldn't really hold any longer as really my booking was nothing to do with them. I understood!
It wasn't all a waste of time though as the person who was helping me had stayed at the PP last year and she like many others on this site, only went to the PT three times. She again said that the two hotels are mirror images of each other so we would not miss out on anything. She explained just how big the complex really is and said that none of the other villiages compare to the PP.
When I got home I had, had my balance due letter so I called FC and was advised that they were not open. I then decided to telephone the bookings line and pretend that I was about to make a booking but was very concerned that only half the villiage was open. Again, the call handler was not aware that the PT was shut and again she had no idea of how they would split the villiage. She advisded me to call back on monday so ill do that and let you all know what is said.
Am still reading this thread with interest, FC saying that the two hotels are mirror images of each other erm!!!?? The site is all one big holiday village and are not truely alike at all. Yes they both have big pools with slides and Amphitheatres but to keep justifying ones early season closure with their excuses is quite frankly rubbish. If they are a true mirror image, then why build 2. FC have dropped a big one again and they know it. The early arrivers who have older children will NOT get the advantage of the faster slides and to say that people only visited the other site a couple of times well i'm truly amazed. ALL the people we met used to vary their day by walking between the 2 areas, us included and there was definatley no culture of "we are staying at the oher hotel" because it WAS all one, just that they had named the accomodation with different names.
There are 8 in our party a family of 5 and a family of 3.
Maybe the PT doesn't sleep 5 and thats why we were all moved who knows??
We booked as a family of four (2adults, 2kids) and we were moved from pt to pp, they told us the rooms weren't big enough (they looked big enough in the broucher, we've stayed in alot smaller!)
What's the bet they'll become big enough well the hotel reopens in june or july?
Thanks for that last post of yours Barnio...I was beginning to think it was me going mad!!! I haven't been there yet, so I can't say they're not mirror images from personal experience, but even FC's own brochure does not show them as being the same on the map! When you look at the aerial photograph on the Pegasos website, you can see how different they actually are. I think we could do with showing it to FC to see how they explain it as a mirror image. What sort of mirror do they use...one from the hall of mirrors at the fair?
I am due to go to FC shop today to sign and accept the changes that have been made to flight. Before we accepted these changes, FC phoned customer services and spoke to a chap call keith. He has said there will NOT be a fence and that we will still beable to walk around the whole complex. The football schoool will be running and the older kids club too.We asked if the pool will be drained? He said no it will be covered, he to said pt is a mirror image of the palace. So the resturants are the same, we have this in writing about the fences, so i hope what they say will be the truth, cause we will be taking our handycam!!!!!!
barnsleycrew.... i'm not sure why they have moved you if you booked as two families of four because the rooms at the p/t are big enough to take four (like i said before we had five in one room ane it was big enough! i wonder if they are not fully booked yet for july so they are going to leave it a couple of months then drop the bombshell that the p/t is still shut like they have to the earlier guests???
this is all abit worrying when you save hard and spend all that money you expect to get what you booked IMO
