Hi themcs.

The wavelength club is our main concern as well as we have a ten year old too. Our local FC have now spoken to a few different people at FC customer services and whilst they all say that the wavelength club will be moved over to the Palace, up 'til now they have refused to put this in writing. I totally understand where you are coming from, cause with the hotel being in the middle of nowhere and if there is no kids club for them, how do you keep a 10 yr old amused for 2 weeks?

Emma.

Just been checking out the prices on FC website and when you click to continue for your chosen date, the following came up on screen......

Tick the box to indicate you have read the information and then click 'Continue'.

1 The advertised prices for April 2006 at the Pegasos Palace are incorrect. The correct price will be given at the time of booking.

2 Due to the Holiday Village Pegasos Tropical being closed, guests will not be able to use the facilities of both properties. In addition the non-motorised watersports are not available.

To print this information click here

Yes, I've read the information above.

Thought it might be of interest!!!

It is exactly the same on the eclipse website now.

Scottishmum

Im glad you are more upbeat about things. When i went last year we went through all of this with things about the place not being open, mossies, cold food, queues etc etc etc.

We went with a pma(positive mental attitude) :D and had a fantastic time hence the return in May this year. 8)

Lets all go and make it a fantastic holiday! :)

hi everyone i have not visited for a while and got a shock when i saw about tropical being closed im booked to go 8th june from glasgow. (anyone else going then?) i have not heard a thing from fc and find this a big disappointment. people would not mind changes so much if you got all the correct information posted to you telling you exactly what is going to be open and what will be closed. im unsure what to do now. i have been really looking forward to taking the kids on there first holiday abroad and hope this wont spoil it for them.
what is everyone else doing??

How long are these turtles going to be nesting on the beach for ?

This was the excuse they used last year when they had laid the golden sand on the beach.

to scottish mum sorry i,m ruining your positivity, what you say about bars opening up was exactly what i said to the wife, and i,m sure it will happen in the future, but perhaps not this year.

the bad opinions and views your reading here was just what we were reading last year and we often wondered if we should cancel ,but we didnt and i,m glad, because its an amazing place, and we didnt have any kids, just the two of us, my main criticism was that there was nowhere to go in the evening, yes you can get a taxi or bus to sarigerme and its cheap and only a couple of minutes away, but like i said theres only a couple of restaurants there, i dont remember a bar, but we only went there during the day, so maybe there was.

the main stumbling block for anyone going before july is the fact that only the palace is open, last year you had the choice of two places of entertainment and usually there was something for everybody, for instance we spent practically every evening at the beach bar on the tropical side, will that be open before july ? i dont know and nor it seems does anyone else.

finally if we had kids up to the age of,say 15 we we wouldnt hesitate to go back, its a kids paradise but i would say to anyone considering going without kids....dont.

you must remember for everyone who comes onto this site with negative reviews, there are hundreds who went there and had the time of there life i,m sure you and your kids are going to have the holiday of a lifetime

Ann, no surprise, fc don't seem to know how to put anythign in writing. I have only had one piece of correspondence from them and that was december changing my room. Nothing to do with the PT being shut!

I'm a bit confused why the non motorised watersports aren't available, surely if it was to do with the turtles then it should be the motorised watersports they are doing away with!

I saw that a couple of weeks ago on the fc site, i think tottya pointed it out to me.

PMA AND LOTS OF IT!

We always book out of high season because we can't stand being anywhere thats packed and at full capacity.

So if they are shuting The Tropical down this means The Palace is going to be near on full, hence problems with ques, sunbeds, booking themed restaurants and kids clubs.

For me that would be a nightmare

scottish mum, really sorry to put an dampener on things when this thread is trying to get upbeat, and so you should it's your holiday after all. The reason there is no non motorised sports on the beach is because the sea is dangerous with strong currents. It's not a safe sea for the kids to swim in. I would not let mine in there when we went and saw a girl of maybe 12 having to be helped out by adults and she was less than maybe 5 yards out.

Black Knight, you're a brave man, you couldn't have dragged me within 10000000 metres of that place if I didn't have a maniac child.

Barnio, for me personally, i wont be letting me wee fella near the water unsupervised anyway, so still smiling! :D However, I understand now about the watersports thing, thanks for clarifying that for me.

I wonder if they've removed all the broken glass etc though, because that is one thing that worries me. The sandcastle king will need to build! :?

when we originally booked last year scottishmum we got it off teletext and we were told we would be in an adults only jaccuzzi suite. we had never been all inclusive before, never been to turkey before and never been to this sort of complex on our own,we have taken the grandkids many times to spain, and wished many times last year that they were with us at pp.

however in saying that we had a good time there, the weather was hot the room was a good size for two of us and the scenery is terrific, the complex is surrounded on three sides by mountains, the food was tasty and varied, even if the indoor dining area was a little like butlins.

the entertainment ranged from pretty awful to excellent, they had at least three professional entertainers brought in from the uk.the resident duo were terrific, and there was a quiz and karaoke in the tropical beach bar. unfortunately for me the entertainment in the amphitheatres left an awful lot to be desired, the reps tried hard but were a little inept at times and the stage was constantly being invaded by small children whose parents couldnt give a toss where they where and what they were doing.
that why it would have been nice to get off site and find a bar to have a quiet (or a not so quiet ) drink, unfortunately there wasnt anywhere, and i dont think there will be anytime soon.

the pools have to be seen to be believed they are everywhere, big pools small pools fun pools quiet pools. the beach is a disappointment, but we were told last year this myth about turtles i dont believe it, if you walk along the beach and cross over to the german hotel (cant remember its name) you,ll see what can be done to provide a good beach for its guests, god knows why there isnt a turtle problem there .its only a few hundred yards away.

you will love this hotel i promise, whether you,ll want to go back there i wouldnt know, but if you have a kiddy, i,m certain he,ll wanna go back.

oh and the mosquitoes, they are a problem but i went a whole week unscathed until the little rascals caught up with me,while they homed in on the wife from day one. its in the evening that the problem is worse particularly in the amphitheatres, where you get a lot of people congregating, but i think its pot luck they either like you or they dont, but lifes like that isnt it?.

i always find myself coming back to this site so i,ll look out for your thoughts on the place when you get back,....meanwhile me and the wife are off to nevada on saturday.....have a nice day ya-all

For me personally Lykia World is a big no no, we would be £2990 for our holiday compared with £1852 for PP. and with spends on top that blows us out the water. Plus with a wee monster wanting drinks every five minutes, and we do let him have what he wants on holiday, we'd probably be near a £2000 hotel bill

I'm sure it is lovely though and hope you have a great time.

Have a lovely time in Nevada black night. Shame you got caught up at the PP when supposed to be on an adults on holiday, NIGHTMARE.
Thanks for all the good advice though. I am still hopeful that they will have tidied up the beach a little. There's no way they can still have left all the debris there from last year surely?!

There used to be some guys from Sarigerme posted on here, it'll be interesting to know if the village has expanded any! so if you're lurking Sarigerme people let us know whats happening.

Good night all its midnight and I am about to turn into a pumpkin.

Oh and Sam, your wishes have been answered KARAOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well thats me having a few early nights then lol

I can't believe they are still using the 'Turtle' excuse....

They can't have non-motorised water sports....but they can do Beach Party's at night with Fireworks, Loud Music and open bonfires :!: and encourage the entire Population of the Hotel to trample all over the beach...mmmm smell a bit of :swear :swear there I'm afraid

Black night, as much as I love children my idea of a holiday at the PP without any is a nightmare. At least you sound like you kind of enjoyed it. I keep thinking of my inlaws in the PP without the grand kids :rofl

Scottishmum, we looked at Lykia World before booking PP and thought the same as you. No way could we afford paying for all the extra drinks and ice creams etc. It does look great though.

Katy's clan, do you think they will still do the beach party or will this be another thing thats not available?
Reply
themcs, I am sure they will do the beach party. Think it is fairly tongue in cheek about the beach cause FC say they cannot do anything about it, it is a mess and was advertised as standing on Golden Sandy beaches. They blame the fact that they cannot disturb the turtles yet put on a lazer, foam party and firework show with bonfire once a week with several hundred people bopping over the site. And this is a turtles nesting area erMMMM?????

When we were there last year the motorised watersports were a godsend to give us something to do on a couple of occassions. We hired a speedboat out between 9 of us (with a driver of course) and had a great time scary though :yikes

If you looked carefully you could see what we think were turtle footprints leading down to the sea.

If the place didn't have such good pools then it would be a disaster (the pools are there saving grace). Our kids were bored in the evenings but none of them were under 10.

We wouldn't return even if the whole place was open but no way would we with only half of it open and no motorised sport or nice beach etc.

We made the best of it last year and we did enjoy it as we were there with friends so we tried to laugh about things.

Hope you all have a good holiday despite the problems.
