Thanks for the help
steph1, we are going in the may school hols aswell. We can't afford to pay another £500+ to change the holiday so we are going to go and enjoy it no matter what. Lets look on the bright side, if the place is half full, that can only mean getting a sunbed where we want it and no queues in the bars. As long as the food has been improved and the kids clubs are running then it shouldn't be too bad (we hope!).
New to this Site, been keeping an eye on things for some time now. Were due to go to Pegasos last August but had to cancel for health reasons, now going 22nd May 2006. Have popped into my local First Choice Shop and spoken to two members of staff who have stayed at the Palace last October for their conference. Having spoken in great detail with them I am really not bothered about the fact the Tropical will be closed. It seems all the pools will be full and open for everyone to use, but the slides will be shut off. There wont be any seating around the pools to discourage people from using them, but the grounds will be open for anyone to walk around and use the spa garden facilities. The only thing that annoys me is the fact we have now had our 'awaited letter' informing us of the changes and the non-motorised watersports have been taken away due to the nature reserve turtle beach. Apparently we do not need to worry as there are outside sub-contractors providing all sorts of motorised and non-motorised watersports on the beach, its just First Choice who are not providing these. I would like to hear from anyone who has been who can confirm this is true and what exact non-motorised watersports First Choice are actually taking away! I have also been informed due to these changes we can change or cancel our holiday will nil charge even though we were not due to stay at the Tropical. Any information would be appreciated.
When are the school holidays in may? I am going in May but was not aware of school hols.
We are going on the 25th May. At least you have had a letter telling you about the Palace being closed we are still waiting. We booked a room with a sea view and the only way we knew we wouldn't be getting one was from this site. I was told on two different occasions that we would get a Kids Den because of the messing around. When I saw on here that the Tropical wouldn't be open and phoned FC they said there weren't any available. When I asked him if I could expect a new invoice he said "no why?". It was only an extra £42 for the sea view but that's not the point. Bearing in mind that the holiday has got to be paid by Thursday we still haven't heard anything from Eclipse (who we booked with) or FC.
Last Friday we went into our local FC Hypermarket just to see if they had any more information that they could give us. The manager was on the desk so he dealt with us. He was not aware of the Tropical being closed, as far as they were concerned people were being moved because of occupancy laws. When we told him that FC had confirmed that the Tropical will be closed he said he wasn't going to phone and check because it was a 0878 number and would cost too much.
It just goes to show if they don't keep their own staff informed we don't stand a chance.
But never mind - keep smiling

We went to the pp last august and had a fantastic holiday. We have been to turkey many times but this holiday village was fantastic. The kids had a brilliant time they went into the kids club and the youngest used the creche. The only problem with the creche is that you have to book them in and the lists are up a week in advance and there are limited spaces so you need to get them signed in as soon as you get there, the early afternoon spaces tend to go first and there was also a reserve list incase a child did not turn up. I found the clubs extremely friendly and my children were very eager to go. We also did borrow a pushchair whilst there because someone took ours in the airport and left me with their rather used and battered one, the pushchairs were brand new chicco one's they did have a hood but no parasol but it served its purpose.
The pools are fantastic and clean we had so much fun in them.
All i can say if you have as much fun as we did you will have a great time.
We have booked to go back at the end of august and i for one cant wait.
Hope to see some of you there.
Clare
I am sorry to say we are no longer going to PP not my choice my other half's decision.
We were meeting friends from Sheffield there but they changed two weeks ago and after lots of discussion between me and my partner he made his mind up for both of us and changed to our friend's holiday choice, bonus is we get to see our friends but I am really sad as it was my first visit to Turkey, but hey there is always next year.
I hope all of you going to PP have a fantastic time and I will still keep in touch and read all your reviews when you return.
Happy Holidays

Hi Steph1, yes we too fly out from Bristol on 22nd May for 2 weeks. We have two boys, 8 and 12. Still waiting to hear from anyone about the watersports!
To all recent posters, YES you will have a good time if you go with an open mind. I won't be going back - for my own well documented on HT - reasons. The problems are being caused by the poor performance of FC and not the quality of accomodation at the Pegasus. I'm going to keep tabs on this thread but will honestly say that IMO it won't kick off on here throughout the season like it did last year. However, I just wonder how many people will get to know of this site whilst there after finding out about the Tropical situation on arrival and add to it on their return. I hope you all have great holidays !!!
suebar, if you trawl back through recent posts you will see mine about the sea. There are a couple of speedboats that will do paragliding and private charter trips but are independant of Pegasus. The sea isn't safe enough for non motorised water sports unless again IMO you are a seriously experienced wind surfer or sailor. The currents are strong and the sea shelves steeply from the edge. Not safe enough and again only IMO not safe for children.
Hi suebar we are hoping my eldest will go to kids club are you thinking about yours going I have heard they are supposed to be very good
We went to Holiday Village Costa Del Sol when it opened and my eldest Son went to kids club then. He seemed to enjoy it, they went bowling and MacDonalds for treats. If they do things like that he might want to go, not sure. Is your 13 year old a boy or girl?
He's a boy
Where do you fly from?
