After our experience last year at PT and PP we would never give FC any of our hard earned money again. This year we are going to Egypt and really liked the sound of a place there but it was again a FC only place, so we didn't book it we just couldn't face another pack of lies etc if there were any problems.
Who needs this kind of stress leading up to a holiday Not us that's for sure.
Saying that previously we used them and had a pretty good holiday but you notice how bad FC are when the problems start.
Good luck to all those sticking with the PP - if it's your first time to Turkey I personally don't think you get to see the real Turkey in this place but don't let it put you off of Turkey
alex uk when you say the tropical is closed in september, when exactly is it closing. we are due to go to the tropical 24th august so we will be retutning home 8th september. we have a son who is 13 and i dont want to go if we have to move to the palace and he misses out on the slides at the tropical that was one of the reasons for booking this place. i would rather change to somewhere else if this was the case, at no extra charge of course.
I didn't ask for an exact date as we wer'nt going until September 25th.
Hi im jumping in from KABC, Alex bet your glad your not going until september as the KABC is now having it fair share of problems, we have been told today that its not going to open now in May, most are being offered PP as an alternative lol, we are due to go on 14th June, holding our breaths at the mo though. Will let you know what its like there all being well.
i changed my holiday lasy year so glad i did after reading all the reports
Perhaps now the Kos Aqua beach club or Kefalonia isnt ready, they may reopen the Tropical and fill it up with all these people who can't go to Greece now!!
the more I read about FC, you think they would have learnt from last years fiasco with the PP and PT!!
Hi does anyone know anything about tom watches , what they are for how much they cost?
You get them from reception, put £50 credit on them and use them to purchase all of the non inclusive things on site. Drinks, orange juice at breakfast, pop corn, candy floss etc etc. By drinks I mean alcoholic ones not on AI and anything from the bar after midnight.
I am sorry to say we have cancelled our holiday to PP. Were due to go May 22nd from Bristol. Have been offered a free child place to Lykia World on same flight for 2 weeks for £2400.00. I am sad as was looking forward to seeing this place but cannot continue with the sleepless nights not knowing what to expect next. Hope you all have a good holiday.
Hi all, have today cancelled our holiday to PP and transferred to Lykia World Village Family room on 22nd May for 2 weeks with free child place for £2400.00 with First Choice. I have been assured this is not a garden room as they have balconies but it seems a good price to me. Can anybody confirm? Also any ideas on a private transfer as I understand it can be done in just under an hour and it takes 2 hours on the coach!
when you say the tom watch are £50 is that per person or can the hole family use just the one just there is five of us and i dont like the thought of giving me kids 50 quid good they would have a field day
When I was at the PP in July, I was told it was £20 minimum, but have read on this thread some people only putting £10 on, and others not bothering with the Tom Watch at all, and just giving the staff English cash for things such as candyfloss! YOU ARE ONLY GIVEN 1 per family, and when we were there, they stopped giving one on arrival, and only gave one if you asked for it.
We personally didnt use one, didnt see the need. if you want snacks such as crisps, chocolate etc, you could buy them in the hotel shop with either euros or lira.
I have never read anywhere it was £50, unless FC have specified this as new for 2006.

omg i thought were going AI and it going to cost so much more

Sorry to hear about your other holiday. Is there anything specific you want to know as i went last year and am returning this year despite the Tropical being closed.

With all the carry on with First Choice recently, as I'm sure you've experienced, I am trying desperately to hold on to my positive mental attitude. I've thought about cancelling, have looked for other holidays, but nothing I've found matches up to the facilities available at the PP for anywhere near the price we've paid.
I was on the KABC thread and pointed people in this direction so I do know what you's have been through this week.
Even with the tropical side closed, the pegasos palace still offers fantastic facilities. Yes, it did have problems at the beginning of last year when it first opened but if you read the reviews you'll see that the majority of them are fantastic towards the end of the season.
I truly believe that first choice will go all out this season for the Pegasus Palace, they'll have to. Because the lack of bookings at this hotel this season has bugger all to do with the bird flu outbreak, its to do with the bad publicity this hotel received last year!
On the positive side. The complex itself is absolutely amazing, go to the turkey photos on the gallery here and run it on slide show, it looks like a fantastic setting. And everyone who has been has seconded that! The pools are fantastic and the kids club has had nothing but rave reviews. So from the kids point of view they will have a fantastic time. In my opinion, if the kids are happy then you will be too.
There are three themed restaurants, which will be open. Indian, Italian and Turkish, which you can book once visit a week, I think? There is a mini disco every evening for the kids, held in an amphitheatre type setting. There is also a bar which does entertainment and I believe the beach bar usually has live entertainment of an evening. There are activities every day from the animation team.
The only things that I think you have to pay for are;
Fresh fruit juice at breakfast in the mornings, but from what I've read this happens at a lot of AI hotels.
Popcorn or candyfloss for the kids, I think there might be a cinema type thing (can someone confirm).
Branded ice creams such as walls etc. All inclusive ice creams are available from the beach bar.
Drinks excluded from the all inclusive package and drinks after AI ends at midnight.
I think thats it really.
The rooms in this hotel are supposed to be quite big and very modern too, there are a few photos of these in the photo gallery too, and it really does look beautiful.
You'll find the photos of the hotel here, set it in slideshow and give yourself half an hour to watch it, you'll soon be looking forward to it.
And if you've never been to Turkey before, take a couple of day trips, its a fantastic country and the people are beautiful, you'll love it.
And now I've typed all that out, I'm feeling really positive about the whole thing again!
If there's anything specific you want to know, just ask, everyone will help as much as they can.

Its a good idea if you can't be bothered carrying cash about with you. I'm an accountant so usually really frugal with money, but I found myself splashing out as if I was a millionaire. No wonder I ended up spending £1200 on a two week holiday, and that was us half board!!!!!
So if possible, it'll be pounds or lira all the way for me. Oh and the fifteen euros I have lying in my holiday wallet. lol
I think I was really apprehensive at first, thinking why is this hotel so empty when its five weeks to go? That to me isnt a good thing, then I went on the forum and yes the ones I read were from early last season and because they were mostly naff I didnt bother to carry on. Just went into this Its going to be the holiday from hell bit.
Was really confused about these Tom watches thought being as my son is called Tom and hes a terrible teen that they had let the PP know about him and I had a childminder for the fortnight (only kidding) thought they were compulsory at first until Scottishmum explained you dont have to have them at all.
What are the kids facilities for early teens like anyone? We have two nine year olds, one ten year old, one twelve year old, one thirteen year old, one fourteen girl whos fifteen when were there and her friend whos fifteen, also got a two year old hyperactive boy. The pool party looks the most fun but read in the brochure that they have turntables for kids to learn how to mix music which sounds good for the two oldest boys.
Anyway thanks again for the info its all appreciated, new everything there was to know about the KABC feel like im in no mans land now.
Debbie x
Also Footballswampie I was told by First Choice that its only the accommodation at the Tropical thats closed not all the facilities, can you please tell me if that is true or is that another fob off iv had from FC.
