I wonder if we'll get beach towels and mattresses this year. There's no mention of it in the latest brochures.

Those that were there at the end of the season, were there towels and mattresses aplenty or was it still a struggle?

I'll probably only take one beach towel each anyway as I always buy new towels at the markets in Turkey, so if there aren't any available then I'll just use my new towels. But I'd rather not take any towels if I didn't have to.

I should just be sensible and take one each shouldn't I!

there were towels at the end of season but we only got matresses once but it didnt bother us, i hope they do put towels on this year

Of course these things aren't important in the overall scale of things, but I wast just wondering, so thanks for that!

Hi to everyone going to the Palace just wondering if there is anyone out there going same time as us we go 4th May for two weeks I think Scottishmum will be coming second week of our stay. Anyway brief run down of whos going in our party theres me and my hubby, our eldest daughter who will be 15 on 9th May so well be the lot having a party that night, her best friend also 15, our son 13 and daughter 9 then there is my sis and her partner and there kids boy 12, boy 10, boy 9 and boy 2, were from Barnsley so we have that strange accent. If anyone is going same time as us and you fancy having a drink with us feel free to come and say hello.

Does anyone no what the weather is like early May in Turkey, Iv never been myself so dont have a clue.

We are hoping that with the Tropical closed that will mean that there are more mattresses available in the Palace when we are there. As for towels we did not have a problem in September as long as you were down by about 10 am. The main problem was with the inconsiderate people who used to take loads of towels and disappear back to their rooms with them. One woman 14 towels piled up on her pushchair (no exageration, i could not believe it) The other problem with towels was where the parents let their children go in the pool get a new towel and then throw it in the bin and then repeat the process again 30 mins later.

we are going to turkey on 8th of may flying from manchester well excited now only four week in our party there is me and my hubby and our 2 daughters one is 3 and the other is 8 month so we have our work cut out and i'm hoping the weather is good went to bodrum a few years ago in may and it was scorching and no rain so fingers crossed!

This is my first time on this forum. Thanks to all for all the info. This is the 3rd holiday I have changed to this year, thanks to First Choice. Firstly Kos Aqua Beach Club, FC changed our room so we changed to Kefalonia Aqua Beach Club, this looks like it will now not be ready, so have changed to PP as looks similar to the previous two. After all the stress I hope I have finally booked a place that will be ok. Read all the previous postings and keeping fingers crossed.
Can anyone help with my questions - we have a Select Room. Did anyone else have one of these and are they ok? If so, could you tell me what position if best to ask for. We love the sea and would have liked a sea view, but I believe the beach is not fantastic at PP, so any recommendations for nice pool views or something else?
Thanks to anyone who can help. Holidays can be stressful, can't they?

The rooms are great at the PP in fact the biggest rooms weve ever had on a holiday. The sea is too far away from the rooms to worry about trying to have a sea view. The pools are fantastic so if you want to look at them then try and get a pool view or there are some well away from the main parts which look really quiet. If you have anymore questions please as away as we went last year and are returning in May.

Thanks so much for that. It is nice to know that someone wants to go back to the PP. Really pleased to hear that. I'm looking forward to it now. Do you know what a Select room means? Think I might try for a pool view. Is the beach any good, or if not last year, do you think they will try to improve it?

A select room i think includes slippers and robes and has a separate lounge area from the bedroom down a couple of steps and this leads to the balcony. As i said the rooms are very nice.

As for the beach i only went down there twice during our stay. Once was to play beach volleyball on the court that they have set up and the other was to go to the party night which was on a Thursday night where they had a big bonfire fireworks music and a foam party. Did not find the need to visit the beach more than this as the pools are fantastic. Dont think the beach will have changed any as it is in a conservation area for turtles or something apparently.

When are you off?

Hello going to PP in July does anyone know if you can request a specfic room as had booked a sea veiw but now not getting it?

When we rebooked for this year they asked us if we knew our room number from last and they would put it as a request on our booking but we were not that bothered so didnt do that. Mind you it would not have made a difference as we are one of the groups of people who have been moved because of the Tropical being closed anyway!

I havent been onto this site for about three weeks now! Has anything else happened or are will still up in arms about the PT being closed. So much for the letters which Eclipse advised me they were writting to everyone to give us the chance to change hotels or cancel!

We had a letter from Eclipse but it was just explaining about the T being closed and that all the facilities over there would be closed.
