Hi, i've never had one of these before so perhaps someone can enlighten me on them. Am I able to have one with hubby ( if I can talk him into it). Anyone know prices and if it is just at resort they offer them or is there anywhere in town as well.

Would love to hear about any other treatments people have had at the spa.

Thanks

we had a turkish bath together (me and hubby) whilst kids were in kids club i think it was £19 each
but was well worth it
he had a great laugh watching me being pummeled (its the only word i can think of to describe it) where as he had a nice sedate woman doing his
WARNING do not get the large man with glasses to do yours unless your into wrestling

but was really good a skin felt nice after
get one when you first arrive then one before you come home
i heard that in town you get them for cheaper from the little tour office but we made use of kids being in the club so opted for the hotel

I think the prices will be quite a bit cheaper now because whilst we were there the prices were being lowered and they were doing packages where you can get a number of treatments for a set price. There was 1 for a couple which was for about an hour. It was various maggages and i think that one included the turkish bath. Whilst 1 is having 1 treatment the other is having another. The price was about £50-60 for both. My partner said it would be good to do but i'm not into all of that

We have booked to go to the PP next year and were very concerned at earlier reports, althoiugh it sounds as though FC are getting there act together.

The one thing that does concern us is the mozzie problem, does anyone know if FC are planning on spraying the river beds or trying to do something about it?
Sorry if this has been asked before.

thanks

I have just been reading through some of the latest reports (under hotel review) and it amazes me at how someone could say "ignore earlier reports, this is the most upto date information about the hotel, there are plenty of sunbeds and no need to bring to your own pool towels!!"

Is it me????? do people not understand there is a slight difference between travelling during July and August, and September and October?? :hmmm
Of course you wont have a problem in getting a sunbed or towel in these latter months, but i can assure anyone who is thinking of booking these two hotels during peak times that it is a massive problem, and unless First choice or the Hotel do something about it then the same thing will happen again next year.
I think a big part of the problem stems from First choice assuming lots of people would sunbathe on the beach, but if they have young children then this isn't an option, hence 4000 people crammed around the pools like sardines :? YES EVEN WITH 17 TO CHOOSE FROM!

Since returning from this hotel at the end of July, i still haven't booked anyone to the Pegasus palace or Tropical (im a travel agent) i look in on this forum most days to see if its improving, but there still seems to be an issue with the food.
It will be interesting to see what next season brings!

No it is not you berry brooks!!!

Of course there is a difference between travelling in peak season(July/August) and October. Most people will realise that (i would hope!!), unless they have very limited experience of package holidays!

I for 1 would love to travel out of peak season, for obvious reasons, cost, crowds etc, but dont have a choice, as I work in a school and can only take my holidays out of term time.

On the other hand, if you are taking children, they would prefer to go in peak season, so there are plenty of other children to pal up with on holiday. If the children are happy making lots of friendsI would find it preferable to having the pick of sunbeds and the kids bored with noone to talk to!. We hated getting up at the crack of dawn for beds, but got used to it!! On reflection, several months later, it was not too much of a hardship, especially if you are on holiday with other families, as we were, and shared the early morning stint!! Once our children have flown the nest, we would never consider holidaying in a complex like this, and would definately travel out of season, to avoid children!!! I know this sounds awful, but as a couple I would NEVER go to PP or similar. You choose different holidays when you have children, if someone had told me I would be going on holiday to a place like this 20 years ago, pre children, I would have said NEVER!! But we choose our family holidays so the kids are happy. Happy kids = Happy parents
Our last 3 holidays abroad in July/August, we have experienced the same thing with sunbeds, and looking at other reviews, the Pegasos palace/tropical is not alone with this problem. Far from it!!!
Feel sure even if the beach was great, the sunbed problem would exist, cos most people with children would want to sit near the pools, especially if the kids are at kids clubs, as on other holidays, they do not like you to leave the complex and go to the beach when the kids are in club, so they can find you easily if there is a problem, ie via the sound system. My kids have hated going to the beach on every holiday we have been on and are happy to be at the pool all day every day.
Yes, something could be done in peak season, maybe as other people have suggested, policing the area before say, 9am but it would need an army of staff to cover all the pools and areas!!!
Think this is a problem that will not improve, and if you book to go to such a large family complex in peak season, then you will have to bear this in mind, and be prepared to either sit away from the main pools or get up early to get your desired spot!!! :D

We had a fab time in August but you can bet your bottom dollar no matter when you go you are bound to find a fault of some kind. Our fault was the british people! (some of them anyway!!)

Hello all,

Well what a wonderful holiday. Travelled between 26th Sep and 10th Oct 2005 and stayed at the PP. I will post a full report later but just to say it was the best holiday we have had in 10 years. Beautiful surroundings, kids club from 10am till 11pm. Slides for kids and adults. Skating ramp. Cinema every day and even a nightclub. Entertainment shipped in from the U.K (even if the comedian and hypnotist couldent be as blue as they wanted cos thoughtless parents let their young childern stay to watch it, and yes the FC staff did hint as much as possible that the performance was not recommended for children!!!!!) Wide range of good hot and cold food throughout the day. Friendly, clean and efficient staff, BUT

it was nearly spoilt by the blooming BRITS. OMFG they moaned because they didn't have a full english breakfast (doh your in Turkey you dip stick). They moaned because you had to pay extra for candyfloss and popcorn. They moaned because around the pool bars drinks were served in thick plastic cups and heavens forbid if it wasn't full to the brim!!!!!!!!!!!!! I saw one chap threaten to punch the barman if his drink wasn't filled to the top every time!!!

We saw two men start a fight mid afternoon around the main pool side!!! We saw the games room wrecked by thoughtless teenager vandals. Broken windows from the night before!!!
A lot of people should be utterly ashamed of them selves. What the Turkish staff must think of the British I dread to think. The people described above please please please stay at home next year because your not wanted in Turkey next year.

We will be booking for next year but probly at the Tropical as next year it should have mostly Sweedish and Germans in it. I'm not to keen on them in general but I know they will be a dam sight better behaved than the Brits.

Couple of TOP TIPS

1. Dont take mossie spray from U.K. Get the local stuff.
2. Get 1 or 2 good sized Electric Insect Killers. You can get them off ebay for about £6. We had 2 in our Kids Den and never got biten in the room once!!!!
3. If you have a kids den dont forget the DVD's to watch on it. There is no kids cartoon type TV channels.
4. Take half or three quaters of your money in New Turkish Lira. We took mostly sterling and ended up changing loads.
5. Learn some basic Turkish before you go. Its not an easy language to learn and they really do appreciate us trying.
6. Try not to be too much af a typical BRIT. Your on holliday and FC have pulled off a remarkable achivement in this project. No holliday will run without problems start to finish.
7. If the new Dalaman airport terminal hasent been built by the time you go next year take your own pack up of food and drink. A cup of tea is about £6!!!! Its also like a catle market so be aware.

Any questions just let me know.

uromanager i totla agree with everything you said, its like reading me writing it,yep we too had a blueish comedion, who got fed up with kids running around whilst he was trying to do his act,he even told a boy to sit down and shut up whilst he was on,this kid did as he said ,shame it wasent the parent who had said it,he made a joke out of it ,but u could tell he was d off,he also pointed out he wasent going to be clean...he was funny though, yep wish i took pics of games room,it was filthy,u would have thought it had been open 4 yrs ,not 4 months ,the carpet was thick with dirt ,all the pool tables had drink staines on them and the walls had chunks out of them and were filthy...oh it was like a sauna in there too,not good enough air cond...

You are spot on with your observations!!!

We had enough of moaning Brits, about the food, only 1 type of beer, internet too slow, staff couldnt speak English!!
We had a standing joke in our party, not to ask anyone if they were having a good time, cos you got the reply (mostly) well.......... are you joking!! its too turkish!!!!

We too, had a great time, and hopefully if we return, First Choice will get a lid on things!!! :D
glad you enjoyed your holiday!!

Whilst I agree with the comments of unruly brits and kids running around not being properly supervised...

even if the comedian and hypnotist couldent be as blue as they wanted cos thoughtless parents let their young childern stay to watch it, and yes the FC staff did hint as much as possible that the performance was not recommended for children!!!!!)

I can't agree at all with the above... This is a family complex, with familys on holiday there! and I don't know about others, but when we go on holiday as a family we do thimgs as a family and that includes watching/joining in the entertainment in the evening... If we wanted to watch a "blue" comedian we would book a seat at the local theatre and have an "adults" night out at home so it wouldn't have to eat into our "Family Holiday" So if I had of been there when your were I would have been one of those "thoughtless parents" who would have been with my FAMILY which did include my children.

FC should never book this kind of entertaiment for a Family Holiday Village :!:

I totally agree with you Katys Clan. We must of been those 'thoughtless parents' aswell. i agree about the part that there were alot of people who were very rude and moaned about everything and anything. I still say the food was of a very poor quality. I love traditional turkish food but at the palace it was not cooked at all how i've enjoyed it it the past. Also my 1 year old son has just got back from hospital after being in there for a few days from food poisoning. I have also spoken to the travel lawyers who Ros works for and they have said that there is confirmed salmalena out there.

This is a 'HOLIDAY VILLAGE' catering for families, wedding parties, couples, singles etc. As such there should be a wide range of entertainment.

People have been complaining about a lack of entertainment!! And now people are complaining about a variety of entertainment. The ampitheatre is for everyone. The kids club is available between 9 & 11pm conveniently the same time as the adult entertainment. I have a 6 & 8 year old. The holiday is for all of us and as such when entertainment is put on for ADULTS I put them into club or we went to the tropical. Why should we adults miss out on some adult entertainment just because of other selfish people. I counted in the 14 nights only 2 of them put over to 18+ entertainment. Would it have been to much to ask children not to be there then. I had to suffer several panto's because my kids wanted to see it (very good though they were). Give and take I believe is the term.

I appreciate everyone is entitled to their opinion but would it have really hurt those 2 time going else where.

Oh and while I remember - while watching the football on 2 occasions the same little darling thought it would be funny to stand in front of the projector!!! No parents to be seen!!!! The parents would have soon been complaining if the little darling fell and broke the equipment and were lumbered with a large bill!!!!!

We didn't get food poisioning whilst there (13th July 2 weeks) but we didn't think much of the food, what we did eat was only warm, due to the containers they were in being left open etc... We had BBQ chicken one night but we didn't eat it as the demand was so much they couldn't cope and what we had was raw... There was 8 in our party and 5 came home with ear infections!!! But we did seem to manage to keep the mozzies at bay, only a handfull of bites between us and no adverse reactions from what what we did get, though reading on here it does seem as the weather is cooling down and perhaps becoming more humid they are becoming a bigger problem...

I have said before and I will say again, not a holiday from hell, though that seems to be where the majority of the other guests were from  from NEVER AGAIN !!!!!

Oh while I remember - 2 adults, 2 children, 2 weeks at the PP.

No poorly tumms, about 2 bites total and a very happy family who will be booking for next year.

Feel very sorry for thoes whom dident enjoy the place. I can asure you there are tons of worse places out there. If you want a Guarantee stay at home.

Please get it right, I am not complaining about the variety of entertainment but just pointed out that I was on holiday with my family and that's it's a Family Holiday Village...

I kept my children in check whilst there, they never misbehaved and caused a nuisance to other guests and if I wanted them to be with me at night (as they did want to) they were....

perhaps next year you should book an Adults Only complex where you can listen to all the foul laungage you desire ... then perhaps those of us who want a family holiday will be able to have one!!!!

Its a Holiday Village not a Family Holiday Village.

As such it caters to all types including adults minus the kids.
