Eventually he'll run out of user names then what will the saddo do (sorry mods couldn't resist it!!)
The air-conditioning problem went on 3 days before we left (which then because we had complained so many times, (10 to be precise) they finally decided to do something about it). Most of the time, we were waking up in the middle of the night finding that it was about 30 degrees in the room and nothing we could do about it.
We also ordered a sea-view room, which upon arrival we were given a reception-view room with the building site across the road (in my opinion, not a sea-view room!). They would not let us change rooms (the excuse they used was that they were all full).
Our room was too small, it had to double beds and no single beds. They expected me to sleep with my 11 year old brother. One night, we came back to our hotel room to find that one of the double beds had a single sheet on it.
In conclusion, we had a bad accomodation but the hotel was alright. Good facilities for both kids and adults. Just be prepared if you are by the pool to hear songs repeated about 3 times every day.
Got back from palace 29th Aug......had a realy good time, great village, decent food, great pools, all in all no complaints.
I can see this place will be even better next year as the planting of flowers and shrubs was still taking place when we were there.
I think the people we met at the palace helped to make our time there brilliant....we were fortunate!!
Can anyone tell me the name of the duo Gary & lynne go under back home ? we come from Yorkshire and would hope to see them performing here....they even let me get up to sing a song with them (stardom at last)
Cheers .......a budding micheal stipe!!!!
Hi All, We went on the 29th of August and had a great time, but i did think the food could of been a little bit better and hot and not warm, but from what my family and freiands who hav been to turkey this month in 4 star hotels i know now that the food should have been better than it was, my friend came back from turkey lat week and they had the same menu as at the PP, but they had kerbab meat in pitta brad and the food was hot not warm, they also had lovely mashed potatoe and lovely roast pototoes not mash like thick gravy, but on the other hand me and my husband bumped into the Manager who does the budget and hires the chefs and he said that the chefs out their are the best chefs he could get for the budget FC gave him, we also spoke to FC recarding the entertainment and all they said was that we are now sending british acts out here 3 times a week, we also made a compalint about the lack of secureity inside the hotel, my children would love to go back to PP, but i would only go back if the deal with all the complaints people are making, i would love to go to another HV, but i dont know if i could trust FC again, i think i will keep an eye on this forum next to see if they have dealt with the proplems they had this year.
We went to the PP 20th June for 2 weeks. Reading these posts not much has changed. The entertainment seems to have got slightly better, food still cold but more items to choose from. The rest of the holiday doesnt seem to be getting any better, FC said they would look at our complaints and address them for other holiday makers, have they done this? Would never go back to PP as it has spoiled my views on holiday villages.
I'm with you on this one marion, holiday village or FC never again. I'm going back to booking our hols direct which we had done for 5 years previous to this years stay at the Pegasus. I'd rather trust my own judgement than that of a tour operator thank you very much.
Anyway, like Weemaz, has put us off PP and Holiday Villages... also put us off -
First Choice

HI Mods, Why has the Tropical got a 4 star rating and the Palace a 3 star rating a throught that the Place was much better than the Tropical. also Kats Clan, i agree with youion most of the things you said, but i think mthat HV are fantastic for children, my children keep asking can we go back to the PP and i have said not unless FC deal with all the teething problems they had this year, i have said i would look at the HV in Kos when the first arrives have been and given their reviews and if alot of the feed back is good i will probably book that next year for 2007, but i have seen a good 5 star hotel with Portland, but its 75% German and wont suit my children, so what can you do to please everyone.
I agree with you about pleasing everyone, but even my children hated the PP and were glad to come home... they are quite close in age so therefore had each other and didn't bother with any of the clubs anyway, and to be honest they found most of the other children their age very Rude, Intimidating and obnoxious, they got swore at a few times in the pool and witnessed a lot of swearing amonst others so didn't really want to know
But as for First Choice, I wouldn't go to another of their hotels if THEY paid me. They have a long way to come in customer service and the standards they seem to think are acceptable! But this is only my opinion and I am pleased for those of you that had a good holiday. For many (the majority in fact) it is there only holiday a year with the family all together so therefore I like to try and be certain of having a good one! This is something I can't be certain of with First Choice anymore so won't use them again.
Hi Kats Clan, This was one of the major complaints i had about the hotel, i asked the rep has the hotel not got any code of conduct policy as everyother AI we have been to have and you have to abide by it or you will either get a warning or told to leave the complex, it depends how bad the the complaiont was about the person, we saw peolpe paying for the damage they had done, but no one had any kind of warning for their conduct, and we saw alot of bad conduct like you said swearing, a man going to hit the barman because he said his drink was watered down, FC and the hotel need to get theri act together or else the only people who will end up going to this hotel is a load of rif raf or FC might end up losing the contract, as i bet they have already breached their contract for nor keeping the hotel a safe and freindly enviroment.
We came back from PP last Friday and had a fantastic time. To be honest, I think we picked the best time to go as although there where plenty of people there we towards the end of our stay it was starting to get really busy due to half term - I would say though that I would hate to go there in the summer months I think it would of been just too big and too many British to be enjoyable. I do think some parents, just drinking all day and letting their kids run wild do spoil it for everyone, my partner also had is trainers stolen from under the sun lounger! Am not saying that only British people would do that but its not the sort of thing you want on your holiday. As it was it was quiet when we went and with only a 19 month old that suited us fine. The food wasnt repeated as only there for a week and although a lot of it was fried stuff we always found something to eat.
The staff where lovely and the place was spotless, our little girl was spoilt by everyone! We were disappointed with the beach and only went there twice and of the whole holiday our only complaint was that the pools, although fantastic, where just too cold!!! I know that sounds silly but I'm talking ice cold - we had to limit our daughter to a few minutes at a time as she was turning blue!! Seen a lot of shivering and coughing kids and it was no joke for adults either! No wonder in all the brochures you think wow, the pools look so empty!
didnt get ripped off at the shop - although we spoke to people who had and after worrying so much about the mozzies before going we spent over £40 on mozzie stuff and bought that Kov when we where there and guess what - we where STILL bit to hell!!! We bought the mozzie patches from the shop for our daughter, Finley, and stuck them to her clothes and we had a net for over her cot and thank god she didnt get one bite. They sprayed while we where there so towards the end it wasnt so bad but nothing works at all.
We would maybe go back in a few years time if and when you actually get the four star that you paid for!! Saying that though, the grounds where amazing and we did have a lovely time.
i must say for anyone wanting to go next summer, the pools were great when we were there in july. they werent cold, far from it more like warm baths, i take it they arent heated and that when the temperature has dropped like in october they will appear cold. but in summer months ie july they were warm and my two were in them all day and not cold atall
this is my first posting on here so bear with me a little, thanks.
after reading all the wondeful revies and comments from you all prior to my holiday, i thought it only right to come on here and express my opinions of the PEGASOS PALACE.
where do i start???
well after waiting 18 long months between booking and finally going out on the 13th oct, we arrived!!!!!--- to what can only be described as butlins visits turkey...
first impressions as you arrive through the security cordons into the village, god knows why, there is no else around for miles!!!
into reception and quite a quick and easy check in...
pushy bell boys insistent on takin your cases to your room, and then the cheek of asking for tip in english rather than euro.....
two dAys in and the lad of 4 drops ill, and has to go on the drip...
all better with 36hrs though thankfully... and so into the swing of things now....
FOOD---- variety good, temperature cold......
POOLS---- amazing choice, temperature just about bearable.
BEER----plenty of, in plastic cups...
The Brits--- plenty of, in differing degrees.... made sme good friends, but others well what can i say mrs pink hair, you know who you are!!!!
BEACH-----twiggy!!!!
SEA-----warm,,, but drops quite quick.
REPS---- actually nice and friendly!!!!
Kids club----- thank god for kids club, without it this would have a dreadfull holiday for the kids, they dont usually go for this kinda thing, but loved every session and all the freebies they got.
BEST NIGHT BY FAR---- the wonderful beach party--- foam, lazers, fireworks the lot, only small thing was the size of the beer glasses!!!!
ALL in all, the weather was great the placee was spotless, the food was varied, but cold...
hope this helps for you going next year, and hope things will improve a little for you.
mr b.
When we were there at beginning of September my daughter had swimming lessons (in the larger pool outdoor pool at the Palace) with the wonderful Swimkids, one day they cut the lesson short because the instructor said the pool was to cold, as they had obviously stopped heating it. I meant to ask if the pool was heated but forgot, if it is a heated pool how come it is so cold now!! (a cost cutting exercise maybe?)
We were there from Oct 6th to Oct 17th , pool was fine , all 9 of us swam most days, sea was warmer though ! i think you people are just nesh !!
On a good note, the turkish entainers in the evenings were extremely funny and definately worth seeing. Also, the maids, gardners and barstaff were always extremely polite, it was surprising what a please and thank you would do. I did find it extremely disappointing how many people (children & adults) had forgotton their manners on holiday, I am sure if people had spoken to them as they were speaking to the staff they would not be impressed.
Finally, the Zeytin restaurant was excellent value for money and fantastic food with excellent service, definately worth a visit during your stay.
To sum up, if I was going all inclusive again (which we prefer) I would go back to the Caribbean as they have got the all inclusive down to a pat, for a european holiday, I would go b&b or half board
would I go back? no,
i think there needs to be something done about the temp of the pools as the holiday isnt sold for only the very warm months is it?
Last year we went to Lanzarote (4 star AI, but that hotel had 4 star standard food!) they also had a few pools to choose from, but one of them they had acclimatized, which for the winter months was lovely, something the pegasus palace/tropical would benifit from i think.
Anyone who is going in July and August will not find it a problem, June and Sept should be ok too, other than that
The very best of luck with this hotel to anyone travelling next season.
