oh yes happy hammer,
we heard you playing uno by the kids pool, problem was we were sat on the beach, lol.
but i agree with the kids club issue, not exactly stimulating, but the daughter did enjoy her 5 mins of snorkelling, and the archery...

glad you had a good time happy hammer, yes the entertainment was good in the ampitheatre but think they could have put some more entertainment indoors for the colder months, and some more seating areas indoors at p/t. the kids clubs at p/t were good ( my kids loved them) but if they wanted to go to the evening session you had to go early and wait outside because there were not enough places, think there was only two kids reps there most nights to look after them, it might be different in the summer months? :? anyway when they did get in they always had a good time :D

Hi Johngibbo33, When we where their in August their was 10 reps at night, that not counting wavelengh, we had a fantastic time for what we paid, but if i had been one of the families who paid double what we paid i would be very annoyed as i dont theink its with £3200 for 3 adults and i child, lets hope FC iron out all the teething problems they had this year ready for next years clients or else they will be paying out more compo and having lots more complaints, Good Luck to those who are going next year. Happy holidays. :wave

We returned on the 31st , on the whole had a fantastic holiday, weather was a bit hit and miss for 3 days , but was still warm, both myself and my partner got ill, £105 in Gp fee's , the PP was nice , i think there is room for alot of improvement tho' , when people say the bar? its a pump!?! 1 pump at each bar , think maybe this could be corrected, the lay out is huge and you really do have to take time to walk round the pp / pt, the swimming pools were amazing i lost my daughter for 2 whole weeks at 1 point i think she was the only child to go in the pool it was sooooo cold( it was to my standards anyhow ha ha) it wasn't for hers , she loved it... I dont think its anywhere near 4 star, but i do however realise that the little things ie, sewing kits fruit basket & bottle of wine add to this rating . The rooms were kept exellent and we had a few nice suprises after our room service had been , basket of flowers, beds made up nicely , and night dresses shaped , this was a lovely gesture, the Turkish people were lovely , they could not do enough for you , First Choice should commend these people for all the hard work they do , and always smiling to boot!
We did a cruise and found this breath taking , again the little one was in that water faster than lightening, our tour guide was great and made our day.
The food i found overall good , same as any AL, what i never liked was little children some as young as 5 going and getting hot drinks and carrying them 2 at a time ? certainly made my heart race, if they was at home would their parents allow them to make a hot drink? ( perhaps this is just me ) but come on grown ups? think before you let them get hurt.
I found the sunday Market in Sarigerme hilarious " cheaper than chips" buy now pay next year" it was hysterical, cheeky b*ggar, but all was ment in fun :)
We went to the beach party , this was great, but very cold.
We got bit by the mozzie's not to many bites but enough to make us more aware about using our repellents ( our daughter never got bit once )
Not really sure what else to write on the whole we got what we paid for , had lots of fun and the weather was great :P

Good News - The catering and managment company responsible for the service and food side of things at the Pegasos Palace / Tropical have been sacked. Therefore next year First Choice will be bringing in a new Managment and Catering company to run the hotel - meaning that hopefully we will see a better increase in the food scores at the hotel!
(Ive just been there and thought it was FANTASTIC - Cant wait to go there next year!).

Oooh that is interesting news.

I am one of few on HT, who thought the food was fine this year, will be interesting to see how it improves next year now.

We intend to return in 2/3 years time, cant wait to see how the place develops. Will read with interest during next season!! :D

hi happening, have you just got back from p/p, p/t? we left early hours on the 1st nov after having a great holiday :D , we heard thet there was going to be alot of first choice travel agents staying there for a converence after we had gone. what did you think of the food? we thought it was really nice. :) we always stay all inclusive and never less than four star and i can truely say i've tasted worse! did anyone get the stomach bug that was going round? I'm looking into booking again for next year but either july or august as the pools are too cold in oct  . the only thing that worries me is whether the hotel can handle five thousand plus people in those months as i think it stuggled a bit this year :? . what do you think?

Hi Johngibbo33, We stayed at the pp in August and the pools where fine , but you have to get up at 6.00am to get a sunbed, but i would not stay at the pt in August as it was very busy and not much room by the pools, we are looking to go to the HV in Kos in 2007, i would never go to another new build again due to all he problems the pp had the first few months, also i would ask for a room at the back of the hotel near the reception as alot of people who had pool views did not get much sleep due to all the noise from alot of children running up and down the corridors between 2-4am in the morning. :?:

hi bellingham, i'm a puzzled as to why young children were running around at that hour? when we went my children were tucked up in bed by midnight and i always made sure they were quiet on our way to the room! still unsure on what to book, so think i'll leave it for a bit :?

Hi john gibbo

We went to PP last week in July/1st week in August, and we stayed in room 1026, (steps just down from the indoor pool). We never heard any noise from children at those times in the morning.

In fact, our room was very quiet the whole time we were there, never heard any noise after we got back to our room, and that was always by midnight or just after. :D
We came back, and kids wanted us to book straight up for next year, but we waited to reflect a bit, and decided after 1 month of being back to book somewhere else in Turkey for next year. We will return though, but maybe not for a couple more years, till the hotel has its first couple of seasons under its belt. :D

Hi Susien, When we where their late August their was alot of children running around the corridors and the bar areas and their parents where drinking either on the balcony or in the bars after they where closed as me and my husbans saw this looking for my teenage son around 1.00am in the morning, some parents still had around 2-3 drinks left on the table at that time in the morning, and they where not people with older children some od f them where about 4 or 5 and still up running round at that time in the morning, i have been to 9 AI and never seen behavour like at the PP, i had a word with the rep about it and she wrote some thing in a complaints book.

Hi everyone.

We go to the Tropical in May. We had a few questions for F.C. We e-mailed them but had no reply, so we went to F.C. holiday hypermarket today. We spoke to the manager who had just returned from the mentioned conference. He gave us his assurances that the place is great and we should not be worried in the slightest because we will all love it. He said that he would not go with his family as his daughter is only 18 months, but for families with children from about 5 upwards it is ideal.

He also confirmed that the people in charge of the catering this year are not being taken back for next year and that every effort will be made to ensure the food is of a higher stangard. He also showed us in black and white in a brochure that all locally produced beer, wines, spirits and liquers are included in the AI til midnight.

I was quite shocked when he said that he had just got back as I thought upon returning most people had numerous mossie bites. He said he got one bite the whole time he was there and had just used boots repellent at night.

We also spoke to 2 other members of staff who have been there this year and they both said they really enjoyed it and would gladly go back and take their families. The only negative remarks they gave were about the pools being too cold and a lack of shops etc in Sarigerme.

hi andy &emma, i'm sure you will have a great time, we took our five children aged 16, 12, 9, 7 and 10 months and they had a fantastic time, the pools are great even though they were a bit cold, it didnt stop them going in  we stayed in the p/t and its a very nice, i thought the food was nice too but if they are going to get someone else in then it will probably be even better. the mozzies are about but they were not as bad as thought they would be, the kids didnt get bit much at all. anyway i'll stop going on and on but if you need to know anything just ask and i'll try and help. :D

Bellingham

thanks for your reply. I am wondering whether our block of rooms was quiet, because we understood they were disabled rooms.

We asked for a room on the ground floor near pool, and this is the one we were allocated. It had loads of handles around the toilet, and the shower had a seat in it! Didnt click till near the end of the holiday, when we went to our friends room floor above us, and they didnt have the aforementioned!!

There didnt appear to be anyone else staying in the rooms either side of us either for the whole fortnight we were there. Yes we did see kids running around at midnight etc, when we too, were looking for our teenage daughter to drag home!!! Luckily, for us, none of them were near or around our rooms!!
We must have been lucky!!

Ho Susien, Our room was very quiet at the back by reception, the reason i know about the noise was i asked alot of peole with pool views if it was quiet by the pool and they told me about all the noise they get at night and some night the lack of sleep with young children running in the corridors, they said i would stop where you are if your room is very quiet, our room was 3116 opposite the building site. :?:

A room which for us, was a quiet room, as there were noone occupying the rooms around us, may on a different fortnight be the room from hell, depending on who is staying at the hotel at the time.

For anyone going next year, request a quiet room and hope for the best!!
Hopefully FC will lay down some ground rules for next years visitors, after it is empty of guests they will be able to see the debris left behind, and the way the hotel looks after this years season.

Where are you going next year Bellingham??

Hi Susien, We are having a year off next year , but the year after im debating on another HV in Kos, or two hoels which are 5 star , but the only down side is that the s star hotels are not for children they are moe for adults, but after going to PP and seeing what sort of people go to the HVs it had made me very wary of going to another, but on the other hand my children loved the HV, so what do you do, i might give FC another chance, plus my son stats year 12 and my daughter starts year 9 so 2007 will have to be school holidays, which i find very expensive, i might go to the canaries at easter, but then my daughter will lose out on study time for KS3. Are you still going to Turkey, to the hotel my nieghbour has been to last month. Good Luck with your next holiday :wave

Hi Bellingham
I seriouly considered PP/PT for this years hol. But ended up going to Greece. Might go in a few years when it has settled, will keep looking in to HT to see how it is there next summer, so I hope this thread continues.

A word of caution about 5*'s and kids. I have tried this and yes you are often in a lovely environment, nice people, good restaurant etc. However (even in school hols) there can be a real shortage of kids for your own to chum up with. I went to one a few years back and after 3 days my eldest, at the time 9, was so bored I felt guilty and was grateful we were only there for a week. Imagine how it would be for teens and a fortnight?

We probably need a separate topic on child friendly 5*s
