Yes I think I am although we are probably not there together. The reason I didn't go for the Pegasos was size/scale. Although I am always wary of new builds the first season.
I fully empathise with bellingham in so far as wanting to be somewhere nice, but keeping kids happy and entertained. I'm sure PP/PT is 'kid heaven'. :D perhaps like Lykia World.

we went to a very nice 5 star in greece with kids and there were a lot of kids there, this place was well up to standard to. on the downside entertainment wasnt great more your piano bar stuff but was lovely and no riff raff.
sani beach resort, halkidiki
works out very expensive though but well worth it.
definitley nothing like pegassus palace.
also athos palace in halkidiki was a good 4 star all inclusive
great food and lovely staff
entertainment was ok i like halkidiki but cant get flights from scotland or newcastle now only from manchester which made me choose turkey this year, but im glad i did not for the experience of the palace but for getting me into turkey for the first time. we are returning next year and may return year after that who knows.
oh i better add not to pegassus palce.......

hi all we came back from pt on 31st but its took me this long to catch up with every thing at home lol so i thought id post my thoughts of pt now.

we all thought the place was great not 4 star but could be if they sought out the little things that let this hotel down eg kids clubs reps not the nicest people i have met, the reps in general ok but could be better and the food thats a bad problem they have.

Out of the 2 weeks we were there i would say we had 4 days that the food was hot and not bad.
the rest of our stay the food was cold, rock hard and tasteless. hopefully they will sort this out for next session.
apart from this we did have a fab time. slides brilliant, couldnt keep my daughter out of them even though they were cold.
Turkish staff so friendly and polite and our room was lovely.
would i go back to this hotel... no as the saying goes seen it done it worn the t shirt lol

just a thought here!? but does anyone agree that they should think about having some kind of place for adults, where they can drink and relax? i mean inside the hotel that is ! i know when we was there it got cold at night and we had to come inside the hotel , kids of 12 upwards dont really want to hang about with their mam and dad , just thought it would be nice to have a place where the adults could sit chat and listen to some back ground music!

was wondering if anyone knows (especially happenin) if first choice are going to put more sunbeds at the p/t and p/p next year? we are seriously thinking of going at the end of july but last years problems with the lack of sunbeds puts me off! :? also apparently there were alot of queues at the bars and for food, we went for the last two weeks of october and did not encounter any of this but the pools were far too cold to go at that time of year again

Hi John Gibbo

We went to PP on 21st July for 2 weeks this year, dont believe everything you read about sunbeds and food, queues etc.

SUNBEDS
We got up most mornings at 7am to reserve our sunbeds, but only because we wanted to sit in a spot, not near the loud music, near the bar, and with some shade. If you are not as fussy where you sit, you could still get sunbeds at 9am. The first day we arrived we went down at 11am and still got 4 beds together by the slides pool.
QUEUES FOR FOOD/DRINK
we NEVER queued for food or drink for more than 5 mins, mostly got drinks immediately at the outside bar opposite reception (never anyone there). Queued for pancakes, omelettes, and speciality dishes (central island outside restaurant), again NEVER more than 5 mins!!!
The pools are like a warm bath in July mmmmmmmm lovely, we spent most of the day in them!
Im sure we stayed at the Pegasos in Mars, by reading some of the posts on here, and there are lots of families, like us who agree. Read back and see for yourself. :D

I am being friendly, always am on here.
:D

I am just giving my honest opinion, would hate jgibbo to not book a holiday based on what he has read by some members. Just want to give a balanced view thats all! There are lots of other members too, like me, who would agree about the queuing and sunbeds too, they have said so in their posts.
the queues at the Tropical were horrendous though, so avoid staying there in July.
John - if you like the PP this year -go for it!

Thats what this site is all about, Opinion. I was at the Tropical in July/ August and would not go back - my opinion. What I feel is unacceptable, some people would disagree, i've no problem with that. I didn't like the bars, beach, entertainment or the food. I ended up on a drip for 1 day with stomach cramps for a further 3 days. However I thought the actual site was vey impressive, superb pools, staff excellent (we were polite to them), room fantastic but thats about it. i will not do a holiday village again but that is just me. If you have young children then I "hope" you don't go wrong by choosing the Pegasus but for me it's back to booking direct and getting value for money.

thanks susian that really helps, we had a great time and would love to go when the pools are warm so that the youngest can go in as when we went in oct she was only ten months and the pools were far too cold for her :( my husband loved the pancakes and wont mind waiting for five minutes :D thanks again for your help. will you be going next year?
Reply
no, we are not going back next year, going to Olu Deniz .

Would love to return though, in maybe 2.3 years when all the teething problems are ironed out, and the surrounding area is developed a bit more. We like to go out for a walk around off site in the evenings, and there was nowhere to go. Felt a bit like being in an institution after 2 weeks, we did the mud bath trip which took us off site otherwise i think i would have gone mad. :D
Look forward to hearing your review next year if you return!

We went when it first opened and would definitely not go back. I know a lot of problems were ironed out but the whole experience has made us decide that we would not go AI again and we most definitely would never travel with First Choice again. JMO

HiSusien, Johngibbo33, We did have a problem with sunbeds, children running in corridors after midnight even after 2.00am, food was not that bad you had to eat out, but one thing im glad about is that we where not in the Tropical, i would go back again perhaps in 2008-2009, but my children are now teenagers and will not want to go with us much longer, i think the problem we had was because the reps said 29th of August was their biggest intake 1700 poeple, their where 3 coach loads just from the Birmingham flight, i think the food will be better next year as they are flying english chefs out their next year, Johngibbo why dont you try where else next year and then go to the Place the year after. :wave

Hi Firefliesuk, Why has the Palace put you of AI, they are not all the same, i have been to AI where the hotel are small and to 3 big hotels as big as PP, but i must say that the PP was the worst hotel we have been to for behavour and so what does that say about british people, i would love to go to Lykia World or Lettonia, but they are far to expensive for me. the reports on Lettonia are fantastic, please do not let the PP put you of AI, do try another AI hotel but perhaps a bit smaller. :?:

I certainly hope we try one again some day but my hubby says not. I know they are not all the same but it's hard to forget a bad experience and you don't want to risk it happening again.

I must say we have always gone AI, but this is the last year, like you firefliesukit does put you off when you have a bad experience

We were there for the last 2 weeks of July and it was bedlam! Rude kids running riot, the parents not behaving much better :!: we had to be up at 6am to secure a sunbed with a bit of shade (though when the Palm Trees are open and at full glory this may not be such a problem) there was definately a lack of sunbeds and an even bigger lack of Parasols, unless you wanted to sit 'En Mass' underneath the huge canopys lined up like Soldiers :!: :!:

Yes, the pools were fantastic as were the rooms... the staff I found to be lovely (as with all the Turish people we came across) FC staff, well I can't post on here what I think of them as that would breach 'Terms & Conditions' over langauge

On the whole the holiday was a lttle less than 'OK' for us, none of us could wait to get home, including the children... The food would have been 'OK' had it been hot and cooked properly, the drinks would have been 'OK' had we been able to get near the bar! (and before everyones jumps on and say that there was no queues, they never introduced the selfserved 'Beer Pumps' untill after we left, therefore try standing behind someone who is ordering 20 odd beers and argueing with the Bar Staff cos they want them 'FULL' ... you could stand there up to 25mins, as we did one night!!!)

I can't see the sunbed situatuion getting any better in the key months of July & August unless they order at least 3 times the amount they had when we were there... Oh and again the 'FREE' towels and matresses never came about untill after we left either, if we had wanted them it would have been 1 euro each per day per person ( 4 of us = 8 euro's per day, 112 for the 2 weeks!!!)another £80 on our holiday budget when they already had £3000 out of us

But in all fairness to the PP we have had enough of AI anyway and the chances are we would not have done it again next year... The PP has just helped us make up our minds... after all to go there AI you may as well go self catering for what they actually offer you inclusive of there price!!!

But there you go it's just my opinion, but I can't justify paying all that money just for 'Kids Clubs' which is about all this place has going for it http://www.coolsmileys.net/wink/thumbsdown.gif

we stayed at the palace for the last two weeks of the season, we always go a/i and have booked F/C for next year but are going to another country, the reason being oct is a cold time for turkey in the evenings,(fixed hols)the pools at the p/p were freezing. The entertainment outside( we had to buy our daughter a coat) was not widely watched as it was very cold most nights.I personally thought the food poor, cold, and the resturants and bars dirty, but the family we also travelled with< who had never been abroad before thought it was fine,The thing is that there are so many realy good points about both the hotels that i am sure f/c will act on the many negative coments that they have recieved, and next season there will be better food, entertainment, cleanliness of the eating/ drinking areas, no alcohol served to under 18,s dress codes followed, kids clubs with slightly staggered times, more loungers, more towels, more cusions.....and i realy realy hope staff who do not expect a tip for the slightest thing.... i have never in my life seen so many tip boxes

after reading reports from HT members from july until end october i definately think early september was the best time to go. there were a lot less guests as the schools over here were all back, therefor no sunbed problem or overcrowded restaurants or bars. (we went to the pool at 11am one day and i counted 17 empty sunbeds) the weather was very hot during the day and still warm enough for short sleeves in the evening. we came home on 26th sept. and noticed in the last few days that the pools were slightly colder and it was beginning to get cooler in the evening.
