hi we are looking to go to the new Holiday Village Red Sea in Sharm El Sheikh. Has anyone got any idea when would be the best time to take 5year old twins?
we were thinking of Oct but looking at the weather it has 8cm rain? i would hate to go & have bad weather.
Thanks
Hi amandap
We're going for the first time on 27th september this year to the CSR with 3 kids aged 13, 12 and 6 and next year to the HV on 1st September with my sister, her husband and her kids aged 4 and 6.
I was advised that september is the perfect time to go. I was initially worried about it being too hot for the kids but sometimes the kids cope with the heat far better than the adults do.
Whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll have a great holiday.

Easter is another good time to go
We have been the last 2 easters and the temp has been around 30 which sounds very hot for small children but it is a dry heat and most days you get a nice breeze
it gratually gets hotter and hotter and im told gets to around 50 in our summer months and i should imagine although im sure someone will correct me if im wrong starts cooling again from sept so im sure sept/oct would be a good time . Egypt does get year round sun so even at christmas I believe you have temperatures of around 20

Errrr........... where have you been looking ??
check out http://weather.yahoo.com/climo/EGXX0018_c.html this shows the precipitation records averages for the whole year and Sharm comes out as 0.00cm every month
and if it did rain it's an average from your figures of 2.5 MM a day that's around a tenth of an inch
Go on risk it It's a great place to visit

Gray is dead right Amandap, you must be looking at a misprint! We've been to Egypt a multitude of times at all times of the year and have only been privileged to see rain on two occasions. I think the longest time it actually rained for was 5 minutes!
Worry about anything you like regarding Sharm but dont worry about the weather!

when we were there at easter We had what can only be described as a couple of minutes of big dusty drops of rain
but all the egypians were running around exicted saying that was the first time they had seen rain like it for 5 years

Well maybe those figures are an average over the whole country. Perhaps there is a good deal of rain on the Mediterranean coast around Alexandria during those months? Or maybe it just confirms my already held opinion of First Choice?
