Just back from the Aegean Dream Resort on Monday after a 12 hour delay due to us flying into Glasgow.

We had a fab room overlooking the pool, loads of cupboard space and what a great shower and, as Kim said previously, great tea.

It was a bit on the hot side for us when the breeze dropped but it was really nice and we sunbathed on the pier most days. We would have liked to have done some trips but felt it was too hot.

Ginger....the armbands are still purple but for some reason or another (a new girl on reception) we weren't issued with them.

We felt the hotel was great value for money with Airtours in fact I doubt we would be able to repeat this at the price we paid, especially from Scotland. If anyone has any questions just ask. Great animation team, 11 in all and a great Aegean Dream song too, all good holiday fun.

Did you notice if there was a duty free on the way in at Bodrum airport?

my main worry is the food, as ive got 1 fussy 7 yr old. are there live cooking stations and in general what is the food choice and quality like

Yes there are live cooking stations. In the main Island Restaurant there is a huge selection of salads, cheeses, cold meats and all salad dressings etc. There is also a hot food selection with 8 different choices, including chips. Outside at the end of the terrace you will find the b-b-q and this has either fish, chicken, kebabs etc, further along a noodle section and at the end a chap who does roast vegetables and pitta bread. I certainly would say something for everyone. On the Italian night they serve ice cream in cones or however you like it. Heading down towards the pool bar there is a popcorn machine, great to munch on while watching the evening shows. Oh, forgot about the sweets....lots of small sticky cakes, chocolate mousse, sweet water melon and fruit, to many to mention.

We did have lunch at the beach bar a couple of times, the selection here is limited to lettuce, tomatoes, rolls, burgers, onions and pizza which was absolutely delicious, not like the stodgy ones you get here. Oh, forgot about the chips! Again there is a lady who sits in the corner making wraps/flat bread with various fillings.

The pancakes at breakfast sprinkled with sugar are to die for too.

Enjoy it all.......I know you will, even the "Life is Life" Aegean Dream song.

Yum Yum!! That all sounds lovely! Thanks for the pointers.
Any more tips you can think of? What was the entertainment like? We went to Egypt last year and the entertainment was dire, but we still had a great holiday - so anything is a bonus!! Roll on a week on Sunday :D

The entertainment at the Aegean Dream is great. Starts at 10 am with Fred Astair and Ginger (I think) singing "Good Morning". Childrens games etc in the pool around 11 ish I think. 12 noon are the adult games in the pool and finish at 12.30. There is a separate childrens activity park, an area for games etc under cover, for when it is too hot and of course the water slides.

The children have a disco around 8.30 and then the entertainment starts in the ampithetre where everyone gets together - something for all ages. The animation team are so professional and really work hard, they are such a friendly lot.

Adult activities include water polo, aqua arobics, boules, archery, shooting, beach vollyball etc. It just goes on.........and on.......and on.

All children will have a fab time at this hotel.

ive just noticed that the last 3 reviews arent very good oops, 1 family moaning about the loud music in the sea view rooms at night, which is what ive booked , food only ok etc. its strange how you can get such different reviews for the same complex

Thanks Ann for the info regarding the entertainment.
Re the latest reviews I think everyone expects different things from their hols - some people like to go off to bed early and some like to party till all hours - I like a happy medium!! Having read all the reviews I am hoping we have made a good choice - but we always try to make the best of any holiday we go on - so fingers crossed!

Lally, you will love it and I look forward to hearing how you rate it.

Everyone does expect different things from a holiday, our room was on the 3rd floor with a sea view and overlooked the pool. If you can I suggest you ask for a high floor. The only thing that kept me awake a couple of nights was the neighbours coming back from the disco at 2.45 am but you have to remember it's their holiday too.

Enjoy it.

Thanks - will do
I tended to ask for a low room so the girls didn't disturb anyone else (baby noise etc) but they are old enough to respect others now so upper floors for us!

I emailed hotel when we booked to request a sea view room. They replied saying that our request had been noted and giving the cost. Hope we do get one! What do you think the chances are Ann? Did you request one?

A very excited

Hi Annie,

Our holiday price was for a sea view room, my only request was for a high floor which was granted. When we were there the hotel wasn't full and I am sure they had empty rooms on the 3rd floor. The staff on reception are really nice but their English isn't too good.

The starlight bar is also on the 3rd floor too and you have superb views from the terrace there. We always asked for a bottle of water from this bar to take back to our room and were usually handed a litre bottle without any quibble. The fridge supply was only 2 small bottles every other day.

I too have recently got back from the ADR(Mon 2nd) after my first visit and the place is fab!,
I couldn't fault any of it,I too had a sea view without asking for it on the second floor with a big balcony right underneath the Starlight bar,
If you want to try the italian,Turkish or seafood you'll have to be at reception for 10am as these restaaurants are smaller and fill quite quick although some people book a few places and don't turn up,But all-in-all the main restaurant had more choice and I didn't have one bad meal or limited choice throughout and they have a Italian,Turkish and seafood night anyway,
Of the 9 of us who went not one Adult or Child had a grumble about the place

Ann2 I must have been there when you were!!

Yes John, we left on 2nd July too but were delayed because of our flight back to Glasgow. Thankfully we were on our way home and not just flying out.

The second week of our holiday was rather hot for me but we sunbathed on the pier up from the beach bar and you always got a bit of a breeze which was nice.
