has anyone stayed in one of the jacuzzi rooms and is it cheaper to book before you go or direct with the hotel and is the room worth it. we will be there for our wedding anniversary and thought it might be a nice treat as long at its worth paying the extra for

We have finally decided on Turkey for Summer 08 at the Aegean Dream resort AI. Have never been to Turkey before and have not done AI for 10 years. Family of four 2 adults 2 teens. Any advice or tips would be really appreciated on it's suitability & location. Thank you

Hi Rosie
There is a thread on the ADR on page 2 - tried to post the link for you but failed - sure Briar or someone else clever will do it if needed
I also posted a review of my stay last August but in a nutshell a very nice hotel , clean and with friendly staff
To walk into Turgutreis takes 15 mins at a leisurely pace, a few nice restaurants near to the ADR if you get bored with the buffet - there are also some A la Cartes in house which we didn't try . Right on the beachfront with sunsets to die for. My 2 (11 &14) were happy enough spent a lot of time lurking in the internet cafe!!
Anything specific you need to know - ask away
Lally :D
*Merged to the existing thread thanks Lally- Briar Mod

Have just read the latest two reviews for this hotel and neither are very good. Feeling a little worried, having booked after reading all the positive ones. If anyone has any info or advice it would be much appreciated. Thank you

We stayed at this resort last year with my husband and 3 children and we all loved it.
We were tempted to go back this year but have booked to go to Delphin palace. The hotel is fab, the food is excellent and there is plenty to do aswell. I wouldnt worry about a couple of the reviews you get that everywhere, but honestly you have nothing to worry about. I will return one year.
If you have any questions i am happy to help

Every report is individual to the person/party.

I always look at the total of reports and there are bound to be a couple of whingers and a couple of reports were people were genuinely let down/suffered bad service but you have to look at them as a whole.

Please see my review for further info

Unless you had a very late flight I personally would not bother. The suitcases can be stored away and you can fully utilise the health spa for a shower before departure - at least that is what we did!!

we have a horrid flight at about 3 am grrr, so i would rather keep room on if possible i wouldnt have bothered if flight had been say no later 7pm ish, but it does depend on the price lol

Hi Karen - it was £20 last year , booked at reception. We had the room until 6 , leaving the ho tel at around 10.30. By the time we had eaten and said goodbyes didn't seem too bad. Seats in reception are very comfy

Hi Rosie
I know you've seen my review so know my opinions. I think its just up to each person what they think but I did notice last year that the end of season time reviews (here and TA) were nowhere as good as the summer ones so that may have some bearing on it.

thanks lynne, £20 sounds reasonable, i was a little surprised by the latest reviews too but then when i went to the marmaris palace a similar thing happened fairly good reviews before we went & we went in march and it was dreadful, mainly the food. we're going may bank holiday so should be busy then ,hopefully not too busy lol

Hi Ellie-Meg,

It looks as though we are on the same flight to the Aegean Dream in May. I agree with you - horrible flight times !!

I guess we will see you there - couting down the days already !! :sun2

We are going from Birmingham too for two weeks. We are taking my youngest who is 11 with us on the 25th and then my oldest is coming out with the In-Laws the next week.

We went the same time last year and decided that 1 week was no-where near enough time so booked two weeks last week. Glad I booked when i did as the prices have doubled where available.

Lucky you going in six weeks - I am driving everyone mad as I worked out this morning that I have 111 more sleeps before I go !!

yes collette we are on the same flight and no doubt on the same transfers lol, i booked this holiday last year and got it really cheap looking now its gone up over £500 and not including the sea view room which we paid extra for, although reading some reports a few people booking with portland and paying fro sea view didnt get one, its bound to happen to me always does lol. we got a free childs place think that helped. i might have a look at the prices for a few nights stay there as my mother lives near marmaris and might drive up and stay at the hotel for a few days, does anyone know which hotel sites are the cheapest for aegean, ill check thomson and travel republic anyway

When we went last year we found Portland to be the cheapest. We paid extra for the sea view and got one, its was lovely.
