hi have stayed in bellevue 3 times and really enjoyed it. dont use the shops on site. if you go out of the main entrance and look over the road and just a bit to the right there is a supermarket called colber. we bought everything we needed there and it was very reasonable.the beer is cheap there too as noticed you are young so suppose you would want to know that if you are planning on keeping the fridge stocked up. you will have a great time i am sure.there are some really good eating places nearby it just depends what you want. everybody on here will recommend lunas grill which is fantastic food and very reasonable but there are plenty of places that do special 3 course cheaply but there are some posher places too if you feel like splashing out. you will be spoilt for choice.

Staying in Old Town Alcudia - I've heard there isn't much to do there, is it within walking distance of the main resort of Alcudia??

Its about half an hours walk into the Bellevue area of Alucudia from the old town.

There are some nice restaurants and bistros in the old town, in fact in my opinion they are of a higher standard than the Bellevue area, however it is definately more "buzzing" up there if thats what you want.

Are you staying in the old town or by the beach near the old town ?

Me and my boyfriend are travelling to alcudia for a week on the 17th July and was wondering what the nightlife was like? We aren't after anything mad, just something a bit lively that stays open til the early hours. Also, are there any places to eat out that anyone would recommend?
Thanks :D

Nightlife's not bad. Most of it is located off the Avenida Pedro Mas y Reus, the road where Bellevue is. Bells Disco is at the other end from Bellevue, Goodfellas Music Bar not far away. Next to the Magic Roundabout - between Pedro Mas y Reus and the port itself - is the Magic Center with disco and music bars, while Menta Disco (the biggest) is just down the road from here.

Restaurants - depends what you want. You might check out http://www.thealcudiaguide.com and look under the Eat section. Stuff there from tapas to burgers to Chinese to ... whatever.

Dawn,

Bells has a different "theme" most nights, but any night is ok. Right next to Bells you can also go to Kaos pub and Sabor Latino, the latter is a Latin music bar, and attracts the Spanish, but it has a vibrant atmosphere, though it is quite small. Goodfellas is consistently a pretty good music bar - very popular. You will get local folk at all these but there aren't specific Spanish nights as far as I'm aware of. Menta is recommended too; it's a bigger place and more facilities.

The Magic Center places tend to be more Spanish in the sense that more local people go there, and the music veers more towards salsa and the like, but still pretty good, and there is a choice of four of five bars/disco in the one centre.

Thanks for the advice Andrew :D it sounds like we'll have plenty to do. Do you have to pay to get into Bells and Menta? i heard that it can be expensive to get into menta?

Now back on online, i can add a bit!!! Menta. Can't remember the exact price but yes it is a bit pricey. Bells - best advice . You can get in for free. Grab a copy of the local guide "Hello-Alcudia" from the tourist offices or many other places (it's the small yellow-covered guide). Free entrance with this. The tourist office closest to Bells is just around the corner on the main road but it's closed weekends and shuts around 5 other days.

Good to see me and my girlfriend aren't the only couple going, I was afraid it would be familys only!!

After reading most of the messages on here I was also worried that it would be all familys.I've been with my family when I was younger so I know the resort is friendly etc, but was a little worried we would be bored at night. However, it sounds as if we'll have plenty to do! :D
Only 2 weeks 2day!! :yipee
Can't wait! When do you and your girlfriend fly out Nick?
