Going to Majorca in April allocated on arrival but have a feeling it will be Alcudia. Having never been here before any advice about the weather and entertainment for 4 adults would be greatly appreciated. We are flying out on the 21st

Alcudia is a lovely resort with one of the best beaches in Majorca!

Its quite "family" orientated and there are only two or three "clubs" but there are loads of bistros and pubs, serving great food of all nationalities!

If you do want a change then there is a bus that runs right along the front from Can Picafort through Alcudia and to Peurto Pollensa and its very cheap, (every 10 minutes), which are both beautiful resorts.

Thanks for the reply Tootsie we like to walk during the day heard that it has some nice walks and then go for a few drinks during the evening so the pubs wll do just fine as long as the sun is shining and it is warm we will be happy

I am going to alcudia on the 14th April this year.

Is there likely to be a lot open at this time of the year, eg bars restaurants etc.

thanks for any help

The majority of places will be opening for Easter, so by the time you are there, yes there will be a lot open, save for a few that wait till May. The port centre of Alcudia should be totally open. The Bellevue area - there may be some waiting a bit longer, but still plenty.

If you are going in April it won't be too hot to walk

In about 1994 we walked up the Puig (mountain) near Alcudia, but that was before the bypass was built so I don't know how you get to it now....amazing views from the top though....

or you can walk into old Alcudia ....(or bus there and walk round when you get there) Don't forget to see the little amphitheatre on the port road.

However, for some other walks you might like to catch a bus to Pollensa and go up the Calvary steps or the Puig with the the sanctuary there, can't remember it's name but you can't miss it! Again stupendous views from the top.

or a bus to Puerto Pollensa and walk beyond the Boquer farmhouse into the Boquer valley. You can do bird watching there, and the walk eventually comes down to a little bay, although we never found the bay worth the effort!

you should be able to get some books or info on walks in Majorca

hope you have a great time :)

The beach is one of the best and perfect for toddlers!
It stays no further up than your knees when you are 30 meters out! Very shallow for ages!

Just to echo everything about the beach. It is superb and very safe and by September any jellyfish have tended to have gone.

The nearest supermarket to Mariner is - as Biff says - near the Hotel Jupiter (Club Mac Resort). It's called Caprabo and is about 5-10 minutes walk from Mariner Club

I used to be a rep in alcudia and the beach is lovely like everyone else said perfect for kids and stays shallow for ages.
I did have one complaint off I guy who said there was sewage on the beach but it was seaweed (hardly gonna be sewage on a blue flag beach)
obviously the guy was new to the outdoors!

One of the nicest beaches we have been on in Majorca. Nice to sit and relax too on the edge of the beach for refreshments too

We are about to book for Alcudia (Delfin Azul) next summer and were wondering if the crazy golf, up past the Belle View on the main road, was still there :?:
A friend of ours went last summer and said he couldn't find it, he was going on our reccommendation, as on a Sunday night (was in 2004 when we last went to alcudia though) they had a barbeque with entertainment (cracking blues brother act on), 4 rounds of crazy golf, and all the food you can eat, plus all beer, wine, soft drinks, all for about 20 euro.

It was a good night out and good value for money, given the amount of drink consumed and food eaten, and was wondering if it was still there for a return visit.

You're referring to Tropical Minigolf. Afraid to say that it closed last year and is still closed.
