Hiya
Im going for 2 weeks really cant wait, 5 days and couting them down, am not packed yet so I finish work tomorrow and Im gonna start packing then, happy days!! Makes me even more excitied when I start to pack.
oo lucky you finishing work! I've only got 4 more days at work before my hols so i can't complain i suppose! i've been keeping an eye on the weather in Alcudia n it looks gorgeous! Which hotel are you staying in? Me and my boyfriend are staying in the bellevue holiday village.I've read lots of bad reviews but i'm trying not to let that affect me.I just can't wait to get there and be laid out on the beach!
SNAP princess thats were we are staying as well, maybe will see you there, you probably wont miss us 4 young ones think the around the pool will be mostly familes.
I'm just hoping everything goes smoothly, as people have reported being moved to another hotel only a few weeks ago. Other than that, I cant wait!! We'll probably be found around one of the quieter pools, don't have any problems with kids, but after a while I prefer to sit by one of the quieter pools
Hiya ! me and nick are going on 11th july for 2 weeks, going from manchester carnt wait, staying at the bellevue apts!
Looks like everyones going to Bellevue
thats probably why it is overbooked all the time
Staying in the More Hotel which is right on the beach as far as I can see from the pictures!
When in Alcudia a few years ago we hired bikes and went up to the old town. Its kinda like a walled town in places and a restful escape from the resort. Theres a lovely market there and a cemetary on the hill back that is worth a look too. (Im not morbid or anything like that, I just found it very peaceful)
We just got back from a week in the Viva tropic in that area and it was one of the best holidays we have had. Its not far to walk down to bellevue and you can treat yourself to a ride on one of the horse pulled carriages . I have stayed at bellvue and playa de muro in the past but now must admit i prefer the port end as it is a bit more peacefull and relaxing. I was too scared to go into the cemetary but did look through the gates, very spooky
There's some Roman ruins too....when we first went (before the by-pass was built..you could walk to old Alcudia over the fields from behind the Hidropark) the ruins were open, but I think they've been fenced off now. There's also a little amphitheatre on the road from old Alcudia to the port.
Is it an easy walk from the port area to Alcudia old town and is it signposted? Dont want to get lost! Not been Alcudia for several years now, but enjoy Spanish food/Tapas and as well as the old town I've heard there are now more Spanish places to eat in the Port area than last time I was there, so hope to give it a go again next year!
Getting from the port into the old town is pretty straightforward. Head for either the Horse Roundabout, then take the road by the garden centre and past the cemetery, or the roundabout at the top of C/.Teodor Canet and then straight on.
A number of new Spanish/tapas restaurants in the port, e.g. Es Setri, Sa Taverneta des Moll. Excellent choice.
Thanks Andrew!
Im just back from Alcudia and had a great time, taking my Mum & Dad away in September, its there first time away and I know they would just love Alcudia.
I have a few questions and I know someone on here will be able to help.
I am looking names of bars the do Carabre at night (apart from the bellevue) I didnt see many bars that had shows on.. Maybe I was out too late at nights and didnt see them..
Also names of apartments near the Belleuve area with Air conditoning, I stayed at the bellevue really enjoyed it but the rooms were too warm at night to sleep and I know my parents couldnt stick the heat, really want to stay around the bellevue area.
If anyone can help I would appericate it very much.
Thanks in advance
Dawn
Dont know about Cabaret shows in September. Lots of pubs would have live music playing at night. We stayed in the Lagotel which was a bit away from Bellevue and there was a pub close by that had various cabaret acts on at night.
cheers Waterford I will check these aparts out, now thinking of going next June/July so if you know of any cabrae shows on I would appericate it very much
If you've just got back, you will have been here when it was very hot (we've had a particularly Hot spell) whereas if you come in September, it should still be nice during the days, but the evenings, and in particular through the night, the temperatures are much more pleasant, and you're less likely to need air conditioning.
However next June or July will be hotter.
Cheers
Adam
Tamarindo (Bier Garden) usually have something on each night (not too sure about the quality and it is all outside)
