I'm just hoping everything goes smoothly, as people have reported being moved to another hotel only a few weeks ago. Other than that, I cant wait!! :D We'll probably be found around one of the quieter pools, don't have any problems with kids, but after a while I prefer to sit by one of the quieter pools

When in Alcudia a few years ago we hired bikes and went up to the old town. Its kinda like a walled town in places and a restful escape from the resort. Theres a lovely market there and a cemetary on the hill back that is worth a look too. (Im not morbid or anything like that, I just found it very peaceful)

We just got back from a week in the Viva tropic in that area and it was one of the best holidays we have had. Its not far to walk down to bellevue and you can treat yourself to a ride on one of the horse pulled carriages . I have stayed at bellvue and playa de muro in the past but now must admit i prefer the port end as it is a bit more peacefull and relaxing. I was too scared to go into the cemetary but did look through the gates, very spooky

There's some Roman ruins too....when we first went (before the by-pass was built..you could walk to old Alcudia over the fields from behind the Hidropark) the ruins were open, but I think they've been fenced off now. There's also a little amphitheatre on the road from old Alcudia to the port.

You used to be able to walk around on the old city walls too, don't know if you still can?

Is it an easy walk from the port area to Alcudia old town and is it signposted? Dont want to get lost! Not been Alcudia for several years now, but enjoy Spanish food/Tapas and as well as the old town I've heard there are now more Spanish places to eat in the Port area than last time I was there, so hope to give it a go again next year! :)

The ruins are still very much open, if you're referring to the Roman city. The walk around - and on!! - the town walls has been improved these past couple of years.

Getting from the port into the old town is pretty straightforward. Head for either the Horse Roundabout, then take the road by the garden centre and past the cemetery, or the roundabout at the top of C/.Teodor Canet and then straight on.

A number of new Spanish/tapas restaurants in the port, e.g. Es Setri, Sa Taverneta des Moll. Excellent choice.

Hi Everyone,

Im just back from Alcudia and had a great time, taking my Mum & Dad away in September, its there first time away and I know they would just love Alcudia.

I have a few questions and I know someone on here will be able to help.

I am looking names of bars the do Carabre at night (apart from the bellevue) I didnt see many bars that had shows on.. Maybe I was out too late at nights and didnt see them..

Also names of apartments near the Belleuve area with Air conditoning, I stayed at the bellevue really enjoyed it but the rooms were too warm at night to sleep and I know my parents couldnt stick the heat, really want to stay around the bellevue area.

If anyone can help I would appericate it very much.

Thanks in advance

Dawn

Just came back from Alcudia yesterday. I know there are apartments near the Bellvue called Viva Sunrise and they have air conditioning.

Dont know about Cabaret shows in September. Lots of pubs would have live music playing at night. We stayed in the Lagotel which was a bit away from Bellevue and there was a pub close by that had various cabaret acts on at night.

Hi Dawn

If you've just got back, you will have been here when it was very hot (we've had a particularly Hot spell) whereas if you come in September, it should still be nice during the days, but the evenings, and in particular through the night, the temperatures are much more pleasant, and you're less likely to need air conditioning.

However next June or July will be hotter.

Cheers

Sea Club is reasonably close to Bellvue, they do entertainment at night (and if you stay for 2 weeks you can get to see them all twice!!!)

Tamarindo (Bier Garden) usually have something on each night (not too sure about the quality and it is all outside)

Hi Adam, yes it was very very warm actually a bit hard to stick at times.. My Mum & Dad have never been away and we have been asking them to go for years, so we have eventually talked them round to go but the 1 thing my Mum wants is air conditoning, so we must book somewhere that has it.
