Hi, I go on 6th August and really want to try and limit my suitcases this year as I usually end up taking everything but the kitchen sink. Therefore, for anybody that has been already, could you please let me know if they have the following?
thanx for your response, But you have broke my heart LOL, or at least my daughters !!!!!!! the good thing is we can now be ready for the disappointment and hopefully find something else to amuse hur !!!!
I hope you had a nice holiday and are enjoying married life XX
yes - they have all you need
In the Superior appartments in the Aegeon Village:-
Hairdryer - in the bedroom (inside the dressing table drawer!)
Iron & Ironing board - ask when you get to reception for them to be sent to your room.
Kettle - fully equipped kitchen area - pots/pans/cups/saucers/spoons/forks/knives etc etc.
Towels for the pool - again, ask at reception where to get them from (they do supply).
Launderette - on site - washing machines...... and tumble dryers (if you need them).
If memory serves me correct - washing costs 3 euros and drying costs 2 euros.
I still take everything but the kitchen sink with me too but I do try my best not to take too many clothes and other things, but I find myself saying "I really need these"............and don't if I'm honest
We had a tour of the Fishing Village appartments too - I'm sure they also have what you need.
Enjoy your hols

Hi, new member here, we are off to the aliathon soon, we have booked a delux 2 bed appartment in the new fishing village, can any one tell me where the nightime entertainment is based, dont want to sound like victor meldrew but we dont want to be kept awake alnight with music. Can anyone recommend any good scuba diving centres in paphos. Cheers.
Couple of questions for anyone who has been. Are there any option re late breakfast at this site or are there snacks available from mid morning (for a lazy teenager who doesnt do breakfast..) What are the options for lunch - is there a snack bar as well as a buffett? Any idea if theres an indoor play area (pool table etc). Thanks
Another positive post on Tripadvisor
The entertainment centre is just outside the fishing village so noise was never a problem when back in the room.
The local Scuba guys are at the fishing village pool every day. You can book up with them and they come and collect you from the hotel. They do a number of different dives. My 10 year old did the introduction and a dive in the harbour and loved it.
Just back from the Aliathon yesterday and it's fab.....any questions please ask.
Incidently, I was told that they hadn't had rain for over a year in Paphos.....so nice to come home to this
I was staying in a one bed superior and it was fine, spacious, spotless no ants etc. It wasn't cramped or sub standard in any way. Admittedly it could've done with alot more storage but if that's my only gripe with a room on holiday then that's not too bad. I would just advise people to take extra hangers if possible as the wardrobe is huge but only has about 10 hangers in.
My parents were in a one bed standard and it was perfectly fine aswell.
My sister was in a one bedroom standard and she had a few ants but she just got some bug spray from the shop and that sorted it I think.
I happened to really like the evening entertainment, it's loud but it's supposed to be and it finishes at about 11.45pm or something.....not too late when you're on your hols. We saw it through til the end most nights even with a 2 year old so it wasn't too late for us.
I found the pools to be fab....I did see paint peeling off in a few spots but they get alot of use, I was up early getting sunbeds at the kids splash pool and they were always cleaning them every morning when I went up. The pools are spotless, there was an "accident" in the big freeform pool on one day and they shut it for the rest of the day whilst they cleaned it. They also found glass in the little pool next to reception and they closed that for most of another day while that one was cleaned (that annoyed me actually....who would throw glass into a swimming pool?? It happened overnight so I can only imagine it was someone who'd taken full advantage of the barman's generous measures).
A few kids had ear infections when I was there but I have found that in quite a few all inclusives. I can defo say they were cleaning the pools every morning because I saw them.
As for the sleeping arrangements, there was 4 of us in our apartment. We had 2 extra small beds in the living room in our one bed superior (but they had made a bit of a mistake when we first arrived and we ended up with 2 beds), the others in our party just had the sofa made up as an extra bed when there was 3 people booked into the apartment....not folded out just the bed made on the sofa. I did speak to a few people and they said they had the sofa made up and an extra bed when there was 4 of them booked in.
Glad you had a fab holiday and thanks for clarifying the situation with regard to cleanliness of rooms you just can't please some people. Could you explain if men need to wear full length trousers for evening meal as suggested in earlier posts or is this the a la carte restaurants as hubby wasnt really planning on needing these. Also if full length are required could this be jeans? You had family staying in standard apartments (which I too am) was there balconies and chairs etc with these rooms?
Getting really excited only 10 days to go

Well, I'm not sure what the policy is on long trousers because we had also read those reviews before the holiday. My husband didn't wear long trousers once and we went to the Mexican A La Carte. My husband had 3/4 trousers on when we went there but there was a man wearing shorts in there I noticed. My brother in law went to the Greek and Mexican A La Cartes and he wore shorts both times. No one said anything about it so I'd summise that shorts are fine, in fact in the heat out there (and it's absolutely red hot) it's totally impractical to expect long trousers so it doesn't seem to be inforced. We also went to a few restaurants off complex, one particularly nice, and no one had long trousers on. Knee length shorts yes, but some of those look very smart!!
Don't take jeans there unless you're travelling in them as they will not be worn. They will stay in the suitcase, I didn't see anyone wearing them. The temp was 40 degrees every day when I was there and the night times are only slightly cooler. It was getting hotter as well.
There are small balconies with the standard rooms with a white plastic table and chairs outside, big enough to sit outside if you wanted. We were in a one bed superior which had 2 balconies, one we didn't use and one that looked on onto the reception pool. That one was pretty big with a nice table, chairs, parasol and sun loungers.
I have taken a few photo's which I will upload to the net later on today if anyone's interested....a few inside my apartment and various ones from round the complex.
Oh, and one huge plus about this holiday if you have small children then use the kids splash pool. It is amazing......it's the first holiday we have had where we've been able to sit at the side of the pool and cultivate a tan. Usually we have to follow our 2 year old around everywhere in a pool but here, he had no armbands on, the water is lovely and shallow and the slides, sprinklers, pirate ship and water tower are brilliant. He had a whale of a time......it's wonderful. The best I've ever seen on any holiday I've been on. I did get up early to get beds there though, it seems parasols are sometimes hard to find later on in the day. I was getting up at 7 - 7.30 ish to get them. The beds with parasols were usually gone by 9 ish. To be honest though, it was well worth the early mornings, just to have that time where I could sit down and watch my son enjoy himself instead of chasing him.
Right, no long trousers then! Might be room for another couple of bikini's then........
My kids are 12 & 10 so more interested in Wavelength and all the sports and activities, high ropes etc.
Looking forward to seeing your pics, thanks for going to the trouble of posting when Im sure you just want to go get all your washing done!

I am on automatic pilot today with the sound of the washing machine ringing in my ears Haha, my son is sooooooo under my feet today...roll on 1pm when he goes to nursery!!!!
Pack the bikinis, they will defo get more use.... You will love the pools, there's a lovely one outside the standard apartments which was the rest of my families pool of choice. Lovely and warm, pretty quiet and Marina on the pool bar is lovely.
The Wavelength club is beside the ent area and they always seemed busy, the reps are excellent throughout the complex and I saw the Wavelength/In2Action ones all the time keeping the older ones entertained.
I noticed on the day we left that the Wavelength reps were waving our bus off, they had a older girl with them (about 11 years old) who was crying as one of her friends from Wavelength was leaving and the rep was giving her a hug, which I thought was nice. So, that told me that they make good friends and enjoy themselves at the club and that the reps build up good relationships with the kids. I noticed this because next year my daughter will be 9 and will be out of the Superstars kids club and into Wavelength so I was taking an interest.
Glad you had a good time!
I would appreciate it if you could post a review of the hotel if you haven't done so already. You can copy and paste from earlier posts.

Breakfast is finished at 10am but there is a snack bar under the lighthouse serving hot dogs, burgers, chips etc...and I'm sure I saw people with food from there well before 12 when the buffet opens again. Defo at 11.15 poss earlier!! They also have sandwiches at the pool bar at the lighthouse, they are there all day, well ......until they run out.
Crewemad, I spoke to someone in one of the delux 2 bed apartments and they said it was lovely. It would depend where your apartment is situated for noise from the ent area. Some of the fishing village apartments could be classed as being quite close to the entertainment area, they all have double glazing though!!
Thanks for the info, this site is really helpful, does anyone know if the football pitch is up and running yet? I think I read somewhere that it wasnt ready, but that could have been earlier in the season, I have a sports mad 9 yrold going on 6th Aug,and he will be disappointed if there is no footie Can anyone reassure my 12 yr old daughter that there wil be plenty for her to do, I keep telling her that there will, we have never been to a hv before so dont really no what to expect, cheers
I'm also going on 6th August and have an 11 year old daughter, are you flying from Gatwick?
From past experience of HV's (Majorca, Ayia Napa, Turkey), there is always plenty for the children to do, even in the evenings so tell your daughter not to worry.
hey hank any pics of rooms in fishing village????
