Has anyone been to Benidorm Palace in 2007, is the new show any good?

Having just looked at the Benidorm Palace website, I see that the new show is called Celebration, I too would like some feedback on anyone who has seen the new show.

It's a pity that they haven't changed the menu, it's the same as the first time that I went in 2003 for my 40th.

not been to see "celebration", but from the flyers that are out, it looks a lot like Passion with a few extras in it. Worth seeing for sure if it is even remotely like Passion

we are twelve girls going to benidorm 29th may to celebrate my 30th and we were going to make the main night out to benidorm palace, didnt realise they were celebrating 30 years aswell!! Did you find the food alright and how did you book your tickets?? All info appreciated

Hiya.
We didn't have any food, we had our meal in the hotel as it was "gala " night and then took a walk up to Benidorm Palace about 9pm, we were staying in the Hotel Regente, so it only took 10 mins....we were advised to go early to get a good seat and before the queues start and I'm glad we did because we did get a very good seat.

They were finishing off serving the meals and from what I saw of it...it looked ok, but obviously I don't know what it tasted like.

I can't say too much about the tickets, they were complementary tickets (just for the show) that were given to me and I decided to use them for Dave's birthday. :zip
The band comes on stage around 9.30- 10 pm(ish) to "fill in" while the dreg ends of the meals are cleared away, then apart from an half hour interval where we went outside for a smoke, the show is non-stop and we left at approx 1-30 am (spanish time)

The drink prices whilst being slightly more than "outside", I didn't think they were too bad actually....we had a gin & tonic and a bottle of "fanta" orange for 6 euros....a "fanta" orange and a bottle of heineken(spel) for 5.50 euros.

I loved it especially the opening scene with torches, masks and cloaks, the Irish "riverdance" scene and the laser show.
A very professional show.

Sanji have they done away with the smoking section in there?

I don't think so....
Upstairs on one side of the "lighting" box it is enclosed in glass and in the darkness I spotted the glow of cigarettes.

We were seated downstairs in a perfect position, just to the right of the stage and elevated slightly...and not to near/far away from the stage.
The tables are situated on a queer angle, but we just swivelled our chairs around to face the stage...as did everybody else.

I think the tickets without the meal are 25 euros each.

What does anyone think the youngest age children can attend at the Palace? We are going to Benidorm as a family for my ?0th in October, and I fancy taking them for a nice night out. The only problem is, three of the party would be only 2 years old! I have heard of five year olds going and enjoying it, but would it be suitable to take push-chairs into the club (I suspect not). Can anyone suggest anywhere else we can have a "special" family night?

Hiya Wendy
I saw no one with very young children in Benidorm Palace, infact there were very few children there at all.
My own personal view is that they are far too young for either them or yourself ( watching over them) to enjoy the show.

This might sound like an old sour puss, but the last thing I would have wanted is a screaming child sat near me, I think somethings are just meant not to be for children and as the show goes on for a few hours, then young children soon become bored.

I wouldn't like to suggest what is the minimum age that a child would appreciate the show, each child is different and I've forgotten what it was like to have young children these days, but I do have a very low tollerance of them, until the grandkids come along and there's no sign of that happening in the foreseeable future.

In certain sections of the show, it leaves nothing to the imagination...the dancers are completely topless.....take away the feathers, boots and thong, then you are left with..... :yikes
Sorry hun.

Emilysnana,
I havn't been myself but looked at going last year. After serious thought, and comments from other holiday makers who had been,I doubted my son (7 at the time) would of sat through that. I would deffinately not take one two year old, let alone three
He'll be 8 this year and I think he's old enough to enjoy it this year :? :? Wether he wants to go or not is another matter.
I'm with Sanji on this one.

I did think this was the case, and didn't really seriously consider it, but I'm still looking for somewhere "special" to go for the night if anyone has any suggestions.

I also agree that the Benidorm Palace isn't really suitable for small children.

The last time I was there, there were 2 young Spanish children sat by us age around 7 and 5. They looked rather bored and both fell asleep part way through the show.

I have to agree with Sanji and SUE. Although I love kids there is nothing I would like less than paying and looking forward to a show like this and then having crying, whining children ruining it for me. And what about the poor children, I am sure they would rather be playing with their toys somewhere they can run riot or be tucked up in bed ready for playing at appropriate times the next day.
I cannot suggest anywhere in particular for a full special family celebration but maybe splitting the celebration in two at night would be the answer. The birhday girl and most adults go to Benidorm Palace one night while 1 or 2 adults watch the kids. The next night the Birthday girl and the the previous night's babysitters go somewhere else maybe like the Ritch Bitch or even for a special meal. I know it's not ideal, but the only alternative would seem to be a babysitting service which I would personally not use if leaving the hotel.

Hi Helen.
My hubby went in jeans, I know that for a fact because I only packed a pair of jeans for long trousers and all his others were 3/4 trousers, but he did wear shoes with them and a nice short sleeved shirt....he had no problem.

I think most people make an effort to look smart, you're not exactly going to John and Josephs.
