im looking for prices to travel to istanbul from the bodrum area.
a few question's i hope could be answered:
1.is there a train, boat or a flight to do this?
2.how long would it take
3.price,how much would it be roughly
reason.
im looking to watch a grand prix next year for my birthday..7th of august (omen as it's the day of the turkish gp im telling the wife)
i was thinking of having a few day's holiday either side off it so,book a flight/hotel in the bodrum area, head to the gp and have a few day's either side for a little r&r and return,a very happy year older and wiser person
anyone done this before?is it possible or would it just cost to dam much?
many thanks
You can fly to Istanbul from Bodrum, I don't know the exact price as I did it a few years ago but I know it is quite cheap. There are no trains. I have no idea about boats. You can go by bus but it takes about 12 hours so plane is your best bet, check out the Turkish airlines website and I think Pegasus and Onur probably go too, it takes about 45 minutes I think.
There is also a ferry service from Bodrum to Istanbul which a lot of the workers in Gumbet use to come down. Can't tell you much else sorru but maybe try Googling it.
i will have a look into it...hope google will be kind lol
we took a bus from bodrum to istanbul the company was called pamukkale actualy they are very good they have hostess onboard and offer free drinks and sandwiches etc.
but it took about 11 hours, talk about worrying DVT!
It was a good experience and being the only english on the bus evryone seemed to want to talk to us, evryone offered evryone sweets like we were one big happy family !!!
Plus it only cost about 6£ for the three of us thats me my wife and my daughter, and my daughter was ment to sit in between me and my wife haha although we changed once we'd endured a few hours!!
Hehe its definatley worth a go if your feeling energetic, adveturous and want to save some money on more efes when you get their!!
im now thinking about getting an easyjet flight to istanbull but it all depends on cost, and it will have to only be for the weekend as are hols are booked for the 10th of august already (spain this time)
