after checking that my overtime etc was all going to be in my wages this month i set about booking my xmas/new year holiday to lloret with siesta.
so yesterday(monday) at 0800 i logged on to their web site and saw they still had the late booking offer i was after and tried to book online.
it wont let me book for one,i've got to phone them, but will let me book for 2. So,waited till 09.15 and gave them a call and got a message giving there opening hours(mon-fri 9.00-5.00). this message was there all day!
found a page on their site where you could ask for a quote so completed the form and waited for the reply. i'm still waiting.
looked again at their website about 10.00 but found i could not access it as their server was down.it was down most of day as far as i know.
this morning i called them again on their main phone number only to get a message saying that their number had changed and then gave me the same number.
as i have already booked my time off, and want to go to lloret for personal reasons, i persevered and eventually got through to a siesta office in leeds where i did book my holiday, but
-they want full details of my insurance(as i did not want theirs), including policy number/emergency phone number/uk contact number for someone while i'm away, before they proceed with the booking
- they cannot guarantee me a room yet as they have to contact the hotel direct(and this could take 14 days)
-i cannot get the reduction for booking online, although it is not my fault that i can't do this
-the price of the single room supplement has now gone up from £9(as shown on their web page on monday) to £13 per night
-the above 2 notes adding £50 to the price of the holiday, that the siesta person cannot do anything about!!!
-i've got to pay the full amount on booking(including 1% surcharge for using credit card)despite not having a confirmed holiday
however, on the bright side, they have said they would refund my money if they can't get me a room
so now i've got to wait a see if i am getting a holiday; and, if so, is what i've gone through so far a taste of things to come, or will it all be all right in the end.
why is such a simple matter so bl***y complicated.
i will wait and see what happens next, ie if i get a holiday or not, before deciding about arguing about the price.
Siesta?
you've been quiet of late.
are you going to c. brava next year.
going with siesta this time(hopefully ) as they were offering a good deal and the ferris deal included the casino royale at the same price as the royal beach and i did not want to take the chance on getting a **** 3* hotel for 4* prices.
have always been very happy with ferris, but the siesta price i expected to get was better, and i liked the idea of even more leg room so thought i would give them a try and see what happens. everyone(well nearly everyone ) has always had good words for siesta, but i had not used them before because they were always so much dearer than ferris.
as the legroom/comfort issue is one of the most important things in coach holidays in my view, it seems that i only have 2 real choices when i go away. i have asked various companies ,including sunways and hoverland about seat pitches and they will not give a proper answer, so it makes booking with them difficult.
i will see what happens.
Dunno what we are doing yet ..... certainly wouldnt object to the Costa Brava as you know, but i might just wait and get a late booking this time ..... last time i booked early i ended up speaking to many people who had paid a lot less .... im not too fussed where i end up, so might just phone round the companies nearer the time, although i only really have the choice of two coach companies, Interbrava and Club C!
e-mailed them again after that, asking for the reductions as in my original post, and although they have not replied to that e-mail, i did get a phone call on friday night saying they were reducing my holiday by the £10 for not being able to book online.
they are not giving me the other £40 though.
cant see why they wont do that, as admitting one part of my claim should really make the other part admissable as well.
i suppose the fact that i did book, and pay, what they asked on the phone does limit my chances of getting any more back, so i'll settle for the £10 i got as at least i have got my confirmation.
roll on the 22nd.
Hi, I am a single parent and have booked a Siesta holiday in July, going to Salou with Eurodisney stopover. Booked it cos of the price but now worried that it's a hell of a lot of travelling. I've read lots of reviews (good and bad) can anyone set my mind at rest. My daughter is 9 will she be ok on coach? Does it tend to be all families?

hope this helps.
have a great time
Thanks for the tips.
I'm looking for a cheapy this year, so even I might be tempted to try Siesta again this year!!
!!!!!!
I'm not deperate to book a hol, as i have my caravan down the coast as backup, so im looking for the best late deal i can get!!
CiderMonster, it was reading your reviews that got me worried in the first place (only kidding) I've found lots of useful information on this site.
I only really had one problem with Siesta, but we were treated in such a nasty manner that it did put me off. However, onsite, etc, the people were decent enough, and the journey and coaches were good too
8 years is a long time though, so i may just give them another try this year if i can get a good deal
