it's actually a very good hotel, in a great position. 20 yards from the beach. you can get the odd cockroach anywhere here, but the bouganville is a 4 star, so it's about as good as it gets

Hi, only 2 weeks and a few days and me and my sister will be there, does any one know how much 2 sunbeds and an umbrella on the beach near Bouganville Playa costs?, Sheila.

I am booked to stay here next month with my family which will be our fifth visit to the hotel. As usual I have e-mailed them with a request for a room overlooking the town on a high floor as the views are great. In the past they have been very obliging and we have had some great rooms which is partly why we keep returning. However I am dismayed to discover that they now intend to charge 25 Euros per person per week for a sea or pool view, which would mean a party of four staying for a fortnight has to pay 200 Euros on arrival. Needless to say, I have told them (very politely) to stuff it and we will take our chance, but when we return in October to Tenerife we will be staying elsewhere!

How very disappointing. I was due to go in August and was planning to email them requesting a poolside view. I certainly don't plan to shell out a further £100 Euros for the privelege.

I understand the bouganville hotel has a gym. Does anyone know if using the gym is inclusive in the cost of the hotel, or is there an additional charge for using gym?

Hi, we are goin here in Aug and whilst on holiday always tend to wear shorts in the evening. I heard that this is not permitted for the evening meal. Does anyone know if below knee length shorts are permitted?

Thanks

Hi Johnyt,
I'm afraid you'll have to pack some long trousers as adult males are definitely not allowed to wear shorts of any length in the dining room in the evening. We saw several men turned away at the door in October last year. Just get changed after dinner, that's what my hubby plans to do this year.

I've reserved a room again at the end of July for 2 weeks and this will be my 10th visit. No mention of any charges in the reply from reception.

As far as charging for rooms with a sea view, ALL rooms have a sea view, whether you are looking towards Fanabe or PDLA. You either look to the left or right :que

all rooms dont have a sea view....some face the bars and shops opposite

Anybody going to this hotel will not be dissapointed in location, rooms, food. It may require a little updating particularly in the rooms but is generally of a high standard

If you can't wear shorts in the evening, are jeans ok?

Hi - you will be fine in jeans. To be honest they've never really been that strict when we've been (4 times now)

We've stayed at the Bouganville several times, and love it. We've noticed that in some brochures it is advertised as All Inclusive now. Has anyone stayed since it has has been AI - what are your thoughts?
Reply
We were there in July and noticed the AI wristbands which seemed to be mostly worn by German guests. The pool area definitely seemed more busy and cramped than on previous visits with more sunbeds closer together and a 7 am scramble for parasols, which I guess is to be expected when hotels go AI - why go out and spend when it's already paid for? We also thought this time that the food in the evening seemed a bit more bland than before and we noticed that the grill often did boring burgers and sausages which we've not seen before. Once or twice the carvery meat was definitely undercooked so we steered well clear. Also there are no more freebies around the pool, sweets, melon, cava etc. We just had an overall feeling that dining standards had slipped -nothing dramatic, we still had a great time - maybe we've just visited too many times which is why we're trying somewhere else next month.
