Hi! Unfortunately you were right ravenglen, just found out from the horses mouth, that from next year 2007,all contracts with Iberstar hotels with direct hols, have finished. My mum will be really peaved as she goes every march, with direct, and has done for last 7 or 8 years 
Luckily she assured us, that we would be ok for July, so touch wood, she aint telling us porcky's!! Regards, BBB.

Thanks ravenglen, I will indeed keep you updated, and I'm just keeping my fingers crossed they don't change our accomodation a couple of weeks before departure, as was mentioned earlier in this thread , other tour operators seem to work out much more expensive. I'm really chuffed with the price we payed 2adults, 1 child £1,532, and that is in the 6 week school holidays (Booked 14 months ago!), and within a couple of weeks the price went up £200, and first choice were charging over £2,000 for same holiday/dates. I have answered a query in the holidays queries forumn, another member was enquiring, as they had booked for jan 2007, I'm just hoping they honour all bookings before the contract ended. regards, BBB

Is the outside pool bar/hut open again ?
Has the Air Conditioning improved from last year or is all the rooms not that cool in July/August or is it just isolated rooms which are not working correctly ?
Is the Rifle shooting and Archery back on the daytime entertainment as this didnt happen last year due to a licence problem ?

We've just booked for our 3rd year back at the Boug. We fly from BHX on 17.12.06 and come back on 24.12.06, got good flight times too, for a bargain price of £240.00 per person! Booked with Thomas Cook a couple of weeks ago and have watched the price increase to a massive £341.00 per person + transfers (which we got included in the price!). I know its not everyone's cup of tea to come back on Christmas eve, but at least it means we don't have to cook Christmas Day dinner!!
In reply to your question Tutty555 - when we visited last December the outside bar/hut was open for drinks and I'm sure there was archery and rifle shooting with the star friends. Can't comment on the air conditioningg though, we didn't use it.

(They never even bothered replying to my email), but at least that information has put our minds at ease, knowing everything should run smoothly now without any hiccups! Just for clarity - DH are saying that the contract with Iberostar has now been agreed but this does not include the Bouganville unfortunately.
Just a quick uppdate too! Received our tickets last week (Going 28th), and touch wood everything is in order, no change to hotel accomodation, looks like direct are honouring the bookings already taken for the bouganville. (touch wood!), but will give a full report, on our return. Regards, BBB.

We are off to the Bouganville on Sunday, this will be the 4th year in a row, just hope it is a good as the previous 3 years. We did have a bit of trouble with our room last year, the air conditioning was not very strong, but that did not deter us from booking again this year. We've also taken the leap of booking our own flights and directly with the hotel, it saved us a few pounds so we are able to stay for 16 nights!
Has anyone just returned from the Bouganville can they give us an update. Does anyone know who is part of the current entertainment team, we believe Mariano is still there, but not sure about who else, our 7 year old son would love to know.

Hi there! We're flying out fri afternoon (28th - for 2 weeks), staying at the bouganville. This will be our first time to this hotel, my mum has been coming here for last 8 years, and praises this hotel to high heaven! So much so, we decided to book for this year.P.S: Don't worry about being lilly white, you'll be in good company!, especially with our son who has bright blond hair, and is whiter than a milk bottle!!

Hi Jemima, we've just returned from yet another wonderful holiday at the Bouganville. We emailed the hotel prior to departure to request a second floor room with pool/sea view. We were allocated 222 which was super - air con worked very well and it meant we could use the stairs at peak times - you'll probably know what I mean!!
My 12 year old son assures me Mariano is still there as is Sergio, Patriciho, Brunette and Nicole (please excuse my spelling).
We hope to return to the Bouganville again next year and plan to do a DIY for the first time. Can you advise me what website you used to book the hotel.

Kaz66, thank you for the info on the room (we will contact the hotel) and for the info on the entertainment team our son will be pleased. We booked the hotel online http://www.iberostar.com and we booked the flights with BA, our advice on the flights is book as early as you can, the earlier the cheaper. Best of luck.
Bellyballyboo, hope you all have a great journey on Friday. We will look out for you on Monday, we've got a 7 year old son, he is very tall for his age and has the height of a 9 year old. But a waist of a 6 year old so finding clothes that fit is great fun! We are also bringing the in-law's it's their 2nd time, although the mum-in-law is not so keen on the sun, she has strawberry blond hair and is certainly lillywhite, she does give the fake tan a try and will hide under a straw hat.

Hi kazz, - just wondered,: When you emailed hotel, did they email you back? Just that I emailed them about 5, or 6 days ago, and haven't heard anything! Although when I emailed in March for my mum, they emailed back within 24 hrs, saying that they had noted her request, (And she got what she asked for, pool/sea view on ninth floor!). Just hoping we're as lucky!! BBB.
Hello, from tenerife!! Can recommend room no 244 this is a low floor which overlooks the pool, and sea! (Second floor!). We emailed a couple of days before departure, asking for a low floor with a pool / sea view, and we got what we asked for, hope this helps. Regards, BBB
Thanks! We've just returned home from a wonderful time at the Bouganville. Like you, I emailed them beforehand requesting a room on the second floor overlooking the pool - we were allocated 222 which was ideal! We hope to return again next year, assuming Direct Holidays get their contract sorted out with Iberostar - they are by far the cheapest!
