malcliz,

The Flights From Gatwick To Male Are Operated Using Boeing 777's. These Should All Have The New Club World Cabin By January 2010.

More Information On Club World Can Be Found On BA's Website

QUOTE "Please can anyone tell me if the new flights to Male in the Maldives with BA have the New Club Business seats? We have never flown Club - is it worth the extra? Also what planes will they use?"

I've had the chance to be upgraded to Club World this year on my way back from Bangalore and I have to say it changes everything ... The flatbed is a dream come true and the BA service is, in my experience, always top notch !

It's quite pricey when you have to pay for it but as I said, I was upgraded for free due to operational reasons (overbooking in WT and WT+), I've enjoyed every single minute and I'm still very grateful to BA for that !!

£120 to book your seat return, in Club World??? so it costs more to press the button to reserve your seat in CW than it does in economy?? :think

What happens if you have already booked your tickets as we have for November. Will we be able to reserve our tickets on the 7th October as new bookings have the option to do?

Speechless - although it was expected. And as for the club world.......... :que :yikes

It will be paying for bags next........

I will not say what I think about the beloved leader of said airline.....

Can anyone tell me the seating plan for flight BA 169 from Heathrow on a 777 on the 16th October 09 to Pudong International Shanghai travelling World traveller + (Premium economy), it seems they have a 3 class which runs from row 12 to 16 and a 4 class which runs from row 21 to 25 but depends which configuration they are using on that day, I would love to be able to pick my seat either in row 12 or 21 but don't know which configuration they are using for the flight. Thanks in anticipation.

jayjan,

BA have a couple of seating plans for the 777's. The correct one will be displayed when you come to check-in and select your seat. You should be on a 4 class aircraft, seating plan here.

cymrulad1106,

This is how I think it works (Hayes and Jarvis are part of First Choice / Thomson). When you get your tickets through, you'll get information on how to access your flight tickets through Amadeus (Chech My Trip). You'll then be able to extract your flight ticket numbers in order to access BA's online check-in so you can select your seats. That's how it worked the last time I booked through Hayes and Jarvis on similar flights. You might want to refer to Denny Crane's post at the top of the page regarding changes to selecting seats with BA, commencing 7th October.

Good flight LHR-PHL but started late as they had a non-working oven in the Club galley and were awaiting a part from their stores at the other side of LHR ........... explanation given that club was full so they needed the oven to be working.

EXCELLENT service in WT including a lot of water passes.

Bag damaged on arrival at PHL, so hope that the promised replacement will catch up with me before I leave BOS on Sunday week! Very kind BA official helped with the paperwork .................. proof that they CAN do things right!! (But personal skills and attitude have a lot to do with it of course!)

And fantastic soft landings - I'd forgotten that the Ryanair BUMP was not standard landing procedure!!!

The new BA flights due to start in October to Male are on 777. I see there are two types but on Expertflyer it appears to be the 3 class one and not 4. Does that mean it will have the new Club World cabin? Also, having never flown Club before which are the best seats to request when 2 people are travelling? Would it be 2 at the window or I read somewhere that the centre two in the middle of the cabin are good but is this just if it is the New Club World cabin? I can't imagine there will be many single travellers on the Male flights to sit on the outsides of the centre pair? Thank you for your help.

If the flight is full you will have folks sitting at either side of you. I would go for the window ones. Are you going to pay the £60 each way to book your seat? I'm not sure how many will do this, but of course that may lead you with no choice you want if a lot do prebook their seats.
I've been told that there is no such thing as a bad seat in CW though :) We have only been on 2 flights and managed to bag the seats we wanted by checking in online as soon as it was available.

Yes we are going to pay but I don't know how it is going to work as everybody who wants to pay and who has already booked any flight with BA will be phoning up on 7th October!!
