yes it is that bad.
befor you unpack make sure your room is ok. ect then you will be fine.make sure the managment don't fob you off with any complaints you may have.
The food is really that bad.
My concern was that if food is only being kept warm for hours then no wonder people have tummy upsets.
We were lucky we are in the finacial postion to be able to buy food away from the hotel.
We met familys that were on a budget and had no option to eat at the CSM.
The hotel is in a great location and is off the main road.and the beach shacks are great.
We went with First choice and to be honest our rep wasn't that bothered.
when we complained. he just kept saying this was the first hotel they had managed and they had some problems that they hope to sort out.
cheak other holiday reveiw sites befor you decide what to do.
Maxine
we had nothing but praise and the othere people that stayed there have been going back time and time again??
Thats why we booked to go.
And yes the hotel has been sold to a man from Delhi. there is only one waiter from the years befor and a couple of room boys.
Every one else is new.
Belive me. some of the staff could not even understand english.
It is a pity that a hotel with good repataion will lose out if some thing is not done.

Oops!!! We have just booked this one for November this year. Hope they get it sorted out by then. We don't intend to eat there, only perhaps breakfast. Thought we would stay at a different hotel this year, just to make it a bit different. Stayed at Marinha Dourada last time (our first time to Goa) and it was good, but we had a few problems. Will write a review when I have time to get my head around wording it.
Double Oops!!! :bhead, was really looking forward to staying at CSM, no one has said a bad word about it in the past, Oh well best laid plans of mice and men and all that will just have to go to all of those wonderful restaurants and shacks to eat but perhaps that's their plan
Al, I will look forward to what you have to say about it when you return. Hope it's improved for you.
is sanjay still the manager there?
No the manager is now a women.so the last one must of left with the rest of the staff.
Polly We shall enjoy every second of it even if it is just to spite them
oh thats a real shame as sanjay was a brill guy he looked after me and my daughter when i got an ear infection and had to stay longer at csm the insurance company wanted to move me to a different hotel but he wouldnt hear of it he gave the rep a load of greif for even suggesting that i pack and move hotels with such a sore ear, shame because it was such a good hotel and the staff we,r brill is nick the bar man still there?? maggie omx
as long as its clean and safe.....by the way does anyone know if there is a safe in the room or are the safes at reception????
hiya jane its a shame coz i loved the hotel there are no safes in the rooms there at reception in the same room as the manager!! if i was you do what i did and bring a new lock with 2 keys and use that at least you know no one else has the spare and then leave the lock with them when you come home
good idea, thats what i will do, better safe than sorry!! mind you i have never heard of anything going missing from csm
no problems i havent heard of anything going missing but 1 safe has a little hole on it and 1 guests ring fell through into another box and they didnt have ant record of whos safe it was and the poor guy had to stand at the safe until someone went to open it i think he waited over 24hrs he eventualy got the ring back
Good news the safes are now in the room, and were free when we went.
Oh No, sorry to see your report, we have stayed in a couple of hotels in Goa but last year when we seen CSM and spoke to people who were staying there they said it was great so we booked for this year going in March, Now I'm gutted. would really like to here a few more reports from people who have recently visited & stayed at CSM, also our booking is double superior ?, anyone know what it means.
We were there at Xmas 2006, & it has gone downhill, but it is still a great location & there are plenty of good places around it.
I think the double superior means a better than normal double room.
The place has been taken over by a man from Delhi, & in my opinion does not care if the Brits go there, I think he is trying to cater for the Indian tourist. But I may be wrong, its only my opinion.
You will have a great time anyway.
Enjoy...........
Stewbacca
stew... at least we have been pre warned that the standards have slipped, as long as its clean and your belongings are safe and the air con and fridge work i will be happy, as you say the location is great and there are load of restaurants and watering holes within a couple of minutes or a quick taxi ride away....roll on 9th march!!!!!!!
Room ticket was Room -Superior S-6 sensa ghor, ground floor, 20 edc complex patto, expect that is the way they spell patio ??.
If any one who has stayed at CSM can make sense of any of this perhaps they could kind enough to let me know if if this is a good room or do I have a fight on my hands as soon as I get there
Thanks
Alan
Alan if you dont want to go ....just say the word I will stay in any old room any floor any hotel I would love to be going .... colleen
