hi seeds. - not sure when you booked but for us to change know would cost at least 1000 extra to go all inc in fuerteventura. we booked early and got great discount.
to be honest though i am not even thinking of changing any more. just looking forward to a great holiday in these bungalows.
i booked when the hols went on sale for 2007.
i was going to change to the dom rep ( only 300) more.(2 adults 2 kids)
we were thinking of going there in 2008 so it would be moving it forward before my boy gets 12 then paying a adult price for him.
hope you have a great time.
have you read the new review?
bad things that happen on holidays sometimes make your holiday feel ten times worse. looking at the feedback on here the people who are giving it negative remarks have had breakins / close run breakins.
talk to some people who havent and they cant say enough good things about the place.
the mystery is how reports can vary so much. you read one report, about 2 cockroaches all holiday. another, loads of them.
also food, some say normal hotel food what you expect, others say awfull.
i think the holiday will suit some more than others. we are going expecting normal food, normal kids club etc.
any more a bonus. any less we come home unhappy,
at present still see no reason to change holiday....... yet....lol
Food was a bit dodgy the first week, but did improve the 2nd. Didn't hear much about the break in's until the last night we were there when we were told that the majority of them were the tv's and the fans.
Anyway any questions please feel free to ask and will do my best to answer them.
laney,
The holiday overall was really good. As with anywhere you go, you do get the moaners. If you are expecting 5 star, then this is not the place for you. But if you go with an open mind i.e. ignoring some of the reviews then you should be ok.
The rooms are very clean, but basic, towels changed and rooms cleaned 5 days out of 7. About the break in's. After reading some of the reviews on here I can't believe we were in the same place. We heard nothing until the last night we were there when the reps did come round and told us to make sure that the windows and doors were locked as there had been some reports that evening. Overall the holiday was really good and couldn't find much wrong with the place. We have a 6 year old girl and she loved the kids club and the entertainment on a night and basically as long as she was happy then that made our holiday.
Any more questions feel free
Thanks laney
PS would recommend the chinese, we went 3 times just book 24 hours before you want to go
Good to hear someone else had a good time!
Nice to hear you had a good time, can you tell me what the set up is with the kids club as my boy is 6 and that is whta he is really looking forward too. ie is is in the morning , afternoon, then kids meal time for dinner then a club in the evening as stated in the brochure??
thanks
Phippsy
The kids club is quite a big building at the side of pool a. The children are divided into 2 sections age 3-5 is the sylvesters and age 6-8 are in the taz team. They all go into one building and as far as I know are not segregated. The times are 10-12 most mornings apart from a thursday and a sunday which is the days of the welcome meetings. On those days I think it was 11.30-1.30. They do do an afternoon session, and one a bit later on which on a few occassions the reps do take them for the evening meal in the international restaurant. The places for that is limited, which is a good thing they are only allowed a certain number of children for safety reasons. A couple of the sessions are chargeable and not free, but are only a couple of times a week. There was a chocolate party one day which was 3 euros and bugs bunny birthday bash which was for 4 hours and they put on party food for the kid's tea. That was 8 euros. Also the MCdonalds party which I think was 6 euros where the reps went down into the town for a takeaway and brought it back to the kid's club. The kid's club bags were great they got a t-shirt, drinking bottle and a sun hat.
Hope this helps
Laney
thanks laney
well i have just booked my two weeks allinc from sat 26th aug thanx everyone for all of your input
The moaners were obviously in one place. Didn't expect 5 star, rep in resort states its a 2 star...... brochure sells is as 3?!. Anyone else read the new review....... that family must have been the same place as us.
Yeah yorkshire family i agree, they must of been the same place as you. Thats done it for me.
If you are self catering and eating away from the resort you will have more chance of enjoying your holiday. AI do not touch with a barge pole unless you like eating in heat, dirt and the same food repeated nearly every day of your stay with one variation on the hot buffett. Worst holiday I have ever been on in 6 years of going away with First Choice. Cleanliness to me is what I would expect for a one star and a basic accommodation, when you are getting 3 you expect a little more than Dorada could give.
thank god another family with the same view - beginnin to think it was us !!
The Complex
first impressions of walking round was, butlins abroad, bit run down and needed up dating in places.the bungalow was not too bad, but we did not have a fan and after asking about 5 times for one i gave up. as every time i asked i got told they did not have one.we never say any cockroaches in are room but we did have a lot of ants, that came under the patio doors.the cleaner for are room did do a good job, we left are room like a bomb site a few times and when we came back , she had folded are clothes and put them on the bed.the shower in the room was very good. over all i could not knock the bungalow apart from the back door, witch was very unsecure. as for breakings,we only heard of one all week, but a strange one. a couple got broken into and what was taken was a pair of trainers and a wallet, the wallet turned up at the reception a few days later with nothing missing. people have been saying that alot of the breakings have been for clothing only, why i have no idea (dont take your designer clothes, shop at primark)
the restaurant is not too bad, maybe 7 different dishes available at any one time, but try and avoid the english breakfast as i found the sausage was under cooked and still raw.the staff in the restaurant was very efficent, they was forever cleaning your table.
the main entainment bar is a bit small considering how many peeps stay on the complex, we went there 1 night only , then stayed away. the so called irish bar is just as bad, it is under the restautant with no ventilation, if you have breathing problems stay out of the irish bar and sit out side, if you can find a table. there is only 10 tables out side, so be early.
the late night disco is a waste of time , open 12 till 8am, the barman dont even know how to make drinks, i had to go round the bar and show him what bacardi and coke was. plus all the music he played was spanish, some of us took our own CDs in for him to play, he put them on for 5 min then changed back to spanish samba/salsa, how can they call it disco?
the security what come on at midnight dont do there job and just sit outside the reception, and when somone walks towards them from the bar they spring into action, shouting and running up the hill. we saw it atleast 3 times over the week, plus i looked out of our room at diff times and they was still sat there.
that is my bit for now
over all , would i go back? if it was alot cheaper, yes
by the way we was in c 69
im sure i will think of somthing else to add
many thanks si

thats our grievance..... we thought for the price we paid it wasn't good enough.
oh its getting bad again
i have said i would go back if it was a lot cheaper
I stated that too... ive just checked what we did actually pay.... £2900 with free child place..... if we'd have paid 1500 all in I probably wudn't grumble.
